I'm on the autism spectrum so I know phonologists would probably throw out my data, but both hull and hole are /hoʊl/ for me. A cursory scan of Wikipedia tells me there's a merger usually found in the UK where both become /hʌl/ but not the other way around. How common is this? Is it new? I was born in 1990 in the Midatlantic US.
I was a kid in the 90s and I remember watching a really trippy and cool video on my family's Macintosh IIsi that was probably about 30-60 seconds long and featured semi-abstract structures morphing into each other. I think they went from ancient to more modern buildings and then to alien structures and something that reminded me of a beehive. I think it might have been a Quicktime demo and I vaguely recall it being on the same program as some of the Clarus the Dogcow videos. It had music. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
I've been wanting a tattoo that incorporates a short phrase that is important to me and my family. But as I research artists, I've noticed that a lot of the artists I like don't ever seem to incorporate text at all. Is a tattoo with words in it considered tacky or out of style? Is there a reason some of the most talented and sought after artists don't seem to include them or is it just a preference that varies between different artists?

First pic is the top layer of my hair which is mostly straight with just a little wave to it, and the second one is the layer underneath which looks much more like 2b waves. Wondering what kinds of products, especially curl creams, would be best for this hair type, especially to get more wave definition. I'm in the US if anyone has any specific product recs.
Dreamt that a friend of mine had posted a baked potato recipe that he swears by. The toppings were roasted bell peppers and onions plus packets of salad dressing. He stressed that you have to use EXACTLY TWO PACKETS EACH of the caesar and ranch dressing. Mash them up with the potato then top with the vegetables.
