Staying the night with my partner has given me a new appreciation for him.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s obnoxious and snores a lot and ends up taking up a lot of the bed in his sleep. And sometimes talks and says random things. Scares me to death when that happens.

But last night, while completely asleep, he started spooning me and held me close to him. Then for the rest of the night, he slept with his arm on my pillow against my head.

Last week, he rolled over to me and laid against me for a while with his face in my elbow. He seemed so at peace even though he wasn’t awake.

When he wakes up in the morning, the first thing he does is start scratching my head because he knows it comforts me. He’s even fallen asleep as he was giving me head scratches.

It’s baffling how loving and caring he is to me while he’s sleeping. Despite all the snoring, I’ve found myself gradually sleeping better and better next to him because I feel so safe.

It’s hard for me to trust people. But seeing his love for me when he’s not even conscious has made me fall for him even more. It assures me that what we have is good, and it’s real.

Is it time to ask my doctor for an MSLT?

I don’t have a diagnosis yet, but my symptoms just keep getting worse.

I’ve always struggled with constantly exhaustion since I was a teen. No matter how much or how little sleep I get, I am always tired. Lately it’s gotten significantly worse. About a year ago, I started dozing off and taking naps at work and at home. I’ve never done this before. I go into like a state of semi-consciousness at work and have weird dreams??? and then I’ll jolt awake.

I’ve been steadily declining. I’ll be sitting at my desk working on something, and a massive wave of exhaustion hits and I can’t do anything other than close my eyes and rest, even if I don’t actually fall asleep. My dreams are also so, so vivid every night, and it’s getting hard to determine what things actually happened in real life and what happened only in my dreams. Sometimes I wake up in a complete panic.

I saw a sleep doctor and did a sleep study. They only told me that I tested negative for sleep apnea and restless legs, and would not give me any other info until my next appointment with the doctor. That isn’t for another few weeks yet. During the sleep study, I had a vivid dream and when I woke up I didn’t really remember where I was and started tugging at the heart monitor strap thing they put around my chest. The person watching me had to ask me if I was ok before I snapped out of it.

I am suffering so bad. My job performance is being affected. I can hardly do anything on weekends because I’m so tired. I used to never take naps, now I do on a daily basis. I wake up often in the middle of the night too and have a hard time staying asleep.

I don’t know if these are symptoms of narcolepsy or IH or what. But from reading this sub, it looks like a lot of people have dealt with similar stuff. Does anyone think that an MSLT would be worth it for me? I just want to figure out what’s going on and fix it. I cannot keep living like this.

At Deicide’s merch stand

I gave $1 to satan.

From their concert in my area a few months ago. They were SO GOOD. Genuinely sounded straight off of their albums, it was incredible. Even got a guitar pick from one of the guitarists.

From a casual player: try Warlock.

I’m a day one Diablo 4 player, albeit a casual one. Played occasionally only on Eternal until this season. I don’t even have the Horadric Cube unlocked yet. But let me tell you, playing as a Warlock has been an absolute game-changer for me.

I exclusively played as a necromancer until this season in Eternal. Although I’m a casual player, I felt like my build wasn’t progressing as it should. So, I started as a sorcerer for this season. It was enjoyable, and I made it up to T8, but it felt so stagnant at times. I was bored and wanted to try something else.

I was hesitant about trying a warlock; this sub absolutely trashed it when it came out. Even when running pits as a sorcerer, I felt like warlocks weren’t quite able to keep up with the rest of us. In the end, I decided, fuck it, I’ll just test it out. Found a build guide which I used for some skills and glyphs, then just kinda did my own thing without a guide.

It’s been three days, and guys, holy shit. I haven’t had this much fun since release.

I’m on T10, never been on this high of a torment before, and I’m fucking shredding everything. Again, it’s been three days of on and off playing after work. I’ve lost count of the number of people I’ve carried through pits. I annihilate lair bosses, including Belial and the Reaper, in less than 10 seconds. Sure, I die sometimes if I’m not careful, but the ratio of my deaths to boss deaths is not even a contest. Again, I don’t have the cube yet, so none of my shit is transfigured, and my glyphs are barely upgraded above 60.

If that’s not enough, here are some other rad things:

— If there’s a group of enemies coming at you, just use Sigil of Subversion before going to town on them. Easy pickings.

— Dread Claws is so damn fun. I was able to configure my stats just right with the Ring of Starless Skies so that it costs nothing to cast it. I just steamroll through everything.

— Losing a fight? Demonform. Not sure if you can kill a boss? Demonform. Just bored from running through pits? Demonform. Demonform is the answer to every problem.

— I use the Mastermind shard. Therefore, I have an absolute purple abomination following me everywhere and eating enemies in my way.
Going off of that, I was able to get the charm set to summon all of the greater demons regardless of your shards. So half of the time, I’m running through dungeons with the boys, slaughtering everything in the way. It’s fucking sweet.

— I don’t remember the name of the skill, profane something? but it’s a giant eye that just blasts things. It’s literally the ultimate boss melter. An eyeball. So cool.

— Nether Step is a lifesaver, genuinely. I’m really, truly terrible at Echo of Lilith. When those bullshit spikes are coming at you, just nether step and be immortal for a few seconds until they pass. I went from NEVER being able to kill her to holding my own quite well.

— The drip is fire asf. Absolutely sickening and unhinged helmets. It’s incredible.

All of that to say, try warlock if you’re bored this season!!!!! I’ve been having so much fun. Are there flaws? Yes. Can it be hard to see because of all the flashy effects? Definitely. But I feel like the pros outweigh the cons. I only used a guide for a few things and figured everything else out alone, and it’s going great. This class does/did not deserve the hate. I’m sure Blizzard has fixed things since it came out though.

TLDR: TRY WARLOCK!!!!!

Is it worth taking him to a specialist out of state? Or should I prepare to say goodbye?

The first picture shows the lump on his nose last week, roughly 5 days ago. Second picture is from today.

I took Yoda to the vet for a respiratory infection, which they confirmed and gave me Baytril for. However, they are not sure what the lump on his nose is. The vet said that for a respiratory infection, the lump should not feel as hard as it does, and she is suspecting a tumor. She said that if it does not improve with the Baytril, I would need to take him to a specialist. The closest one is out of state, 2 and 1/2 hours away.

My boy is getting old. He’s 5 now. He’s had minor issues before and Baytril has always resolved everything. It is not doing that now. He doesn’t appear to be in excessive pain or anything, but he does gasp for air quite a bit. The lump doesn’t appear to bother him either. He’s a little? lethargic, but still eats, drinks, and moves about the cage a decent bit.

I don’t know how to proceed. A specialist would be very very expensive, likely thousands of dollars that I simply don’t have right now, and it is far away. What would they even do for him if they diagnosed it? If it’s a tumor, would it even be removable? Additionally, Yoda was stressed and upset enough just going to our local vet, and it is a struggle to get him to take the medication. I don’t know if he’d be able to handle that long of a drive sitting in a box, then having imaging/another exam done. At his age, I’m not sure if it’s wise to put him through that.

The vet told me to call once the Baytril doses are done to discuss next steps. They are 100% going to refer us out. I need opinions. I want to take care of him the best that I can, like I’ve done for these last 5 years. But there is only so much I can do financially. Is it better to just keep him comfortable for whatever time he has left? Or is potentially taking a loan out for the specialist the best choice?

Any ideas as to why he keeps sleeping with his head back lately?

He doesn’t display any other abnormal behaviors during the day, and his cage is the same as it’s always been. He just keeps sleeping with his head back almost every night and I’m not quite sure why.

He is approximately 5 years old.

Found her in bad shape on the side of the road. She was covered in fleas and her eye was infected. It’s been 10 years, and she is my best friend.

Her name is Penny. She is very talkative and has cuddled with me daily since taking her home. Crazy how little we both were back then.

I am drowning and don’t know how I can do this. Please help.

I’ve been looking into buying a house, as mortgage prices with utilities are roughly the same as rent in my area (Eastern PA, hour and a half out from Philadelphia).

A realtor family friend that sold my parents their house is currently helping me look, and has also been very honest with me about how bad the market is. He is hoping to get me a place within a few months. A mortgage lender ran my numbers and I am approved for a max of $210,000 for a mortgage. However, my parents and I keep calculating different numbers on what I can actually afford on my low salary, and I don’t know what to do now.

- I make $2,649.40 a month. I get paid bi-weekly. My yearly income is $45,000/year (before taxes). Unfortunately I am in a very niche field, with coworkers who are mentoring me to be an expert in my field, so finding a different job is not an option. As it is a nonprofit, I don’t know when I could get a raise.

- I do have a second job ($16/hour). It is PRN only, so not steady income, the most I can do lately is a shift a week for 3-4 hours. I think back in May, when I last had shifts, I got like $100 or so from it.

- I currently have $19,700 in savings. It will be at least $20,000 at the end of the week when I get paid. The lender estimated that the down payment and closing costs will be around $24,000.

- I pay $225 in student loans per month. When I move out, the payment will be reduced to the minimum (181) since I’m paying extra right now.

- I have approximately $15,500 left on my student loans and I’ve been paying them since last December. Because of high interest rates, I haven’t been able to get more than like $1,000 of it paid, even though I’m paying almost $50 extra per month.

- I have no other debt over than my student loans. My car has been paid off for nearly a year, and I’ve never missed any payments for credit cards. My credit score is in the high 700s.

- I have an $800 car insurance bill to pay every 6 months. However, this is my parents’ insurance, so it will be different when I’m not on it anymore.

- My current expenses total to about $300/month. This INCLUDES my current student loan payment and will end up being reduced.

- These numbers are what I’m at living at with family, and are not including any housing expenses (mortgage, heat, water, electric, groceries, gas, food expenses for a cat and two lizards, etc).

- The average apartment in my area costs somewhere between $1,400-1,700/month. The complexes I reached out to have never responded to me.

- The houses I am looking at are priced between $150,000-200,000.

- The mortgage lender who ran my credit and tax/bank statements stated that I could afford a mortgage payment of up to $1,600. I don’t think this is true, but they approved me anyway for some reason.

- I do not pay my phone bill yet, and I am still on my parents’ medical insurance. They told me that when I move, I can stay on those things until I’m 25, so I don’t need to worry about those costs for a bit.

I desperately need help figuring out what exactly I can afford. I’ve tried to ask friends to room with me and they are unable to. My partner is in a very difficult financial situation and they cannot move in with me right now either. I am on my own. My parents have agreed to contribute funds for the down payment/closing costs, but the rest is up to me. I am actively being discouraged by my family to continue with this process. It just sucks because I want it so damn badly.

Please be kind, but also honest with me - is buying a house in the cards for me? Is renting an apartment even possible right now? What can I afford?

Thank you in advance for helping.

How do you know if you want kids or not? My boyfriend wants a child someday, but it’s never been part of my life plan.

Basically the title. He’s become more firm in his stance as our relationship has progressed and says that he really wants to raise a child with me someday, and that he dreams of being a father.

I have never really wanted to have kids and to be honest haven’t thought about it in a while. Additionally, pregnancy and childbirth terrify me. He’s a great partner and I’d like us to stay together, but I understand that you can’t compromise on kids.

So how do you know if you want kids? What is the appeal, exactly? How do they benefit your life?

——

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who has responded, I’ve read them all. I want to clarify that I truly do not know if I want kids or not. I keep going back and forth between yes and no, and I am aware that you shouldn’t have kids unless you’re in 100%.

My boyfriend and I have only been together for like 7 months and we are in our early 20s, there are no kids actually happening anytime soon. We are just talking and determining if our futures align. I’m also not going to break up with him if I haven’t truly made a decision yet. What if I end things and then decide that I do want kids? Then I’ve lost a great partner forever.

My boyfriend also knows that I’m unsure and is giving me the time I need to decide since it’s still very early in our relationship. This isn’t make or break time yet. He told me that he isn’t concerned about any timelines and will simply check in every so often to see where I’m at. This is a conversation that will be continuing over the next…idk several months at least. If we don’t agree on it we will probably break up, but for now, I still want to enjoy being with him.

But anyway, thanks again for all the responses. I have a lot of soul-searching to do.

Is there a way to make falling hurt less?

This is probably a stupid question but I’m genuinely unsure. I recently bought my first pair of skates and skated outside yesterday as opposed to a rink. I wore a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards. I fell twice, and the second time, I landed on my elbow, and even with the protection, it hurt so damn bad that I had to call it quits for the day. My arm still hurts one day later.

Is there a method to falling to make it not hurt quite so much? I’m only 22 and in okay shape, so I’m surprised that I’m still in so much pain.

▲ 15 r/prozac

I’ve been on Trintellix for one year, and it’s stopped working at the maximum dose. My psychiatrist just prescribed me Prozac and believes it might help.

I’m feeling quite hopeless, honestly. I’ve tried Lexapro, Abilify, Pristiq, Trazodone, and Wellbutrin (which gave me permanent hand tremors), and I finally thought I found one that would help me. It did for a bit, and it saved my life, but now I’m extremely depressed again.

I haven’t heard many positive things about Prozac. With nearly every one of these that I’ve taken, I’ve gotten unbearable side effects ranging from dead libido, insomnia, tremors, weight gain, excessive sweating, and nausea. Most of them did nothing at all for my actual depression and I just got side effects.

I’m terrified of doing this trial-and-error cycle again. My previous psychiatrist essentially gave up on me because my body rejected so many meds. My current one is just worried and sad that I only got a year out of Trintellix, when it should’ve been longer.

Some words of encouragement from people who take Prozac would be greatly appreciated.
