Should I give it more time?

My first melon I picked wasn’t fully ripe and want to ensure the next ones are ripe enough. The tendril is gone at this point with the leaf stem also gone. I’m unsure of the field spot color mostly. It sounds like a deep hollow sound compared to one nearby that sounded more like a bongo drum.

For those curious this is a Wilson’s Sweet.

Frustrating as fook

The saga continues 😂

Is anyone else’s Primary not really a provider but more so just a coordinator? Any problem I have she doesn’t really look and just immediately refers me out. She seems clueless overall.

Lately (past 2 weeks) I’ve been wanting a medication added on but they keep saying it was added. The spelling is similar and I know they’re not paying attention to detail. They discontinued an important med the last time also due to a confusion. Pharmacology is important to me, but not to them.

Besides her education and experience level, I tend to have my wife with me at appointments. Why does my provider speak through my wife to me? Lol. This isn’t girl hour to chit-chat either? It makes my wife uncomfortable and feels like the appointment is more for her than me! 😂 I get the feeling that she is intimidated by me and if that’s the case then she needs a new career.

Trying hard to behave but feel like a crash-out is overdue. Tighten tf up.

Wha cha think?

Figured I would kickstart the aging process/patina. It feels a bit softer and more smooth, and overall just looks better imo.

Our first Wilson’s Sweet 🍉

I’m going to let the next few ripen more. I went by the dry brown tendril and got this. It is delicious. Very juicy, sweet, and smells strongly of watermelon.

Damn, son 😂

I wasn’t sure what the code meant so I looked it up. Yeah, this is from 2022 but honestly didn’t really smoke that bad. Maybe a little hot near the end due to dryness but it’s hydrating currently so I can try another to compare.

It’s not too late

To sow some corn for a Fall run! Especially if it’ll finish in 75 days. My first time growing corn and I got almost 50 ears. This time I am more familiar and have another 56 sown. Going to stagger Silver Queen 2 weeks later nearby for even more corn 😂

They’re getting there

Kinda have neglected these a bit but I noticed a good amount of fruits.

We have Habanada, Thunder Mountain Longhorn, and Lesya. The Gochu peppers are lagging behind a bit and getting swallowed a tad 😆

Got 9 ears of Seminole XR today

Should have about this much more in a couple days, as quite a few still had some green in the silks.

Sauce time! San Marzanos are delicious 😋

I really enjoy the sauce from these. I’m still tweaking things a bit as I have only made 2 batches lol. During the winter I want to get the canned San Marzanos to compare. Note, there are a few Little Napoli mixed in.

What are the black marks?

I received this Ribshifter x Althea bare root cactus earlier today and was curious what the black marks/spots are? Bruising, I'd imagine? Or fungal? Figured I would ask for clarity and knowledge. Thanks!

Should I even trust this guy for a return?

Sorry if this is too off-topic, but I had a question about Ransony LLC if anyone was familiar.

Long story short, I recently purchased a Whisper Wildcat refurb but was sent the Rocket Whisper. After a couple of days, I realized this and reached out. He said he could replace it or refund it, cool. Then I say I want to replace and magically it's OOS now. Then he says there won't be a restock anytime soon on both Wildcat and Raptor. I only had mentioned the Raptor for its similar price point and is closer to what I had originally ordered.

I figured he would've avoided the headache and said the Raptor for the Rocket would work, but no he's making it very obvious that there will be no replacement now and maybe a refund if he feels like it, type of vibe. The way he words his emails is very "you'll like what you get and shut up." I don't even trust sending it back at this point for a refund and then never doing business with him again.

I am currently awaiting another response, but I already know it's going to be some super convenient for him BS to try and force my hand 😆

Cereus peruvianus v. monstrose cutting

This looks like a solid cutting for $16 ($25 with shipping). I expected much smaller 😆

Some cacti I rescued

I decided to revisit the world of cacti since I was a teenager the last time I had any, and I also need the practice/familiarization. I saw these at various big name stores, with most being severely dry to the point that the soil was hydrophobic. Me being the bargain gardener, I am at heart, I made a few deals and got all of these for about $12.

After I soaked them for a bit, I applied a diluted mix of water and H2O2 with a final dusting of cinnamon as extra precaution. I think they look okay 🤷‍♂️

Random rant; it pissed me off so much seeing this one box cook in the sun at Walmart. I decided to open it and it was full of cacti from Costa. All of them were just thrown about, broken, bone dry, or dead. The herbaceous stuff was worse. It is like this at all of the big name stores, though, not just Wally World. Just one of those realities you hate to see 😔

I was able to get a little something at least after the deer discovered these Adirondack plants 😆

This is mainly from 3 Adirondack potato plants I had growing near the wood line, so I kinda expected this and thought of them as decoys while my main stuff is left alone. To my surprise, all was not lost. I got 3lb 1.2oz from these neglected and abused potato plants. It was pretty easy, I would say, as I had no idea what I was doing and got a harvest. I also expected a nice single stem to hill, but that was not the case, 😄.

I have no clue why the skin is super textured on some, but I suspect it's related to an under-watering issue.
