Mazda3 2019. Manual transmission.
It has 115,000 miles. We’re the only owners and get most of the maintenance done at the dealers.
*Someone* says we should trade it in while we can but I’d rather not have another car payment. Obviously I should take it somewhere to have it looked at but what are the likely causes and possible fixes?
Yes. I’m trying to inform myself for an argument with my spouse.
Without poisoning all the memories? Thats what I’m afraid of. My kids growing up, etc.
I’ve been married for more than 20 years.
The good:
- We have good sex, about once a week.
- Good dates, good deep conversations but only when alcohol is involved.
- We get along most of the time. Have similar hobbies, interests and values.
- we have multiple children who are almost functional adults.
- No abuse, he rarely raises his voice, no name calling, no punching walls, etc.
The bad:
- he’s really selfish, especially with money. He’d rather retire early than help the kids with college.
- He avoids conflict. Basically declaring “whatever” and walking away instead of telling me how he really feels or standing up to me. And then he will barely talk to me for a week.
- Pretty sure he lies to me to avoid conflict which is pretty fucked up.
I’m not perfect. I’m a people pleaser, conflict avoider myself but I’m trying to fix it. I’ve suggested therapy but he thinks they’re quacks and will only do it if I really want. He complains that all arguments are about what he does wrong but that’s because he never starts the conversation. I’m not going to start a conversation about what I did wrong.
I swing between really being into him and wanting to fix things and secretly preparing for divorce. Teenage children.
I sometimes wish he’d cheat so I’d have an excuse to end it without fault.
Decide how much you can or are willing to pay. Inform your children of it when they are starting high school. Discuss options then.
Don’t wait until they are seniors to suddenly tell them you’ll only pay for community college, or state schools or that you can’t pay for anything.
I’ve seen this a lot in Reddit and in real life.
This way they have realistic expectations and can start saving their own money and looking into options, etc.
My doctors are still treating it like a migraine and I’m pretty sure it’s not.
My neurologist asked me “how often” I’m getting headaches at my last appointment which I think was the fourth with her. Once again I had to remind her “all day, every day, since Jan 8”.
I had sex with him twice last weekend while he was sick and now I’m sick. Mother fucker.
Sorry. Just trying to create some healthy marriage content and that’s all I could come up.
2 years ago we bought my daughter 10 year old Hyundai Accent for $4k.
Now we are looking for something similar for my son. We are seeing a lot of manual Mini Coopers for a good price. We have a manual Mazda and he knows the basics, just needs practice.
But we literally know nothing about Mini Coopers beside they look cute. Thoughts?
We’ve done CA. Key West, Hollywood, FL. I’m thinking some kind of hidden gem. Maybe the Carolinas, the gulf coast? Something affordable for late summer. Ideas?

Anyone else screwed by the loss of data?
My son takes his test July 1 and his entire log is gone.
Apparently something bad happened during the update on 7/18. They emailed me. It tells me my user name and/or password are incorrect. I did a password reset and it basically looked like it was creating a new account. He has his 50 hours already but now we have no driving log.
I guess if it’s not fixed by then I just make a log up in excel?
Husband was out of town last night. I drank 2 of his 4 beers in the fridge.
He texted on the way home asking if I wanted anything from the liquor store. I said it was a good thing he stopped because the dog drank 2 of his beers.
He came in the door asking how the hell the dog got the beer.
In his defense he was really tired. 🤣
Doctors are treating it like a migraine but I’m not even sure it is. The pain levels and locations are variable. I’ve only had the vision auras maybe 3 or 4 times for a few minutes. Only the sharp, motion sensitive pain 3 or 4 times. It only feels sensitive to light occasionally. I am nauseous a lot but that could be the medication.
They keep trying all these “preventative” medications that aren’t working and now they want me to pay for Ajovy and I’m really skeptical. I HAVE a headache. I don’t need to prevent a migraine.
The only thing that has helped with pain was Indomethacin after about a week of use and that’s not supposed to be good long term. Pain returned when I stopped.
Tried 2 rounds of steroids, Topamax, eye doctor, etc
