Got 14054A on Scarlet Lady, under Gunbae. How bad is the noise?

Just got assigned 14054A, and it appears to be under Gunbae. I don't mind being on 14, as it's easier to walk up a flight of steps than to always wait for elevators, but I do have some concerns about potential noise.

I checked the cabin details on the VVInsider tool, and there's no comments for my cabin, but the cabin next to mine has a ton complaints about the noise from being under the galley (even though it looks like it's not actually under the galley): https://vvinsider.com/cabin/14050a/ comments at bottom.

Would love to hear any experiences from others who had cabins in this area.

Mobile downloads larger than the native file?

See screenshot. Using Moonfin on iOS, all of the resolution options seem to be a different and larger file size than the original file.

Any logic to this? And could I just set something up that only allows direct downloads, to avoid transcoding?

Can I use Tailscale for remote logins, but not require it for accessing at home?

I have a Roku TV at home, and am currently able to just use the JF native app since it's on the same brisk. But I want to set up TailScale to allow my parent's Google TV to log in from their house.

If I install TS on my MacMini that I'm using, will my Roku still be able to login from JF on the same network? Or will it now require a TS login, which Roku doesn't support?

Thanks

Considering moving on from my 2017 Titanium. Any other used compact SUVs that offer similar amount of premium features?

2017 Titanium, and I'm a little freaked about the potential from the transmission to die, so I think I'm going to start looking at other used SUVs.

The only issue is that my girlfriend has gotten very comfortable with the luxury amenities of the titanium, which are admittedly pretty great. I laughed at needing a heated steering wheel until the temperature spent a week below freezing here.

Just looking at the usual suspects (Mazda CX-5, Subaru Forester, Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V) none of them seem to have a high end trim line that comes close to the Escape Titanium. Some of them will have heated seats, and touch screen, and not much else.

I'm trying to stay away from the actual luxury brands (Audi, BMW), because I don't feel like paying for tax for parts & maintenance.

Booked Lock it In Insider. What are odds for upgrade vs. bidding for upgrade?

Booked a 9 night Mediterranean trip for August, and the girlfriend suggested we book the cheapest rate, and then try to bid up to a Sea Terrace.

After doing some Reddit research, a lot of people seem to get free room upgrades.

My fear is that we get assigned a room, get the room we paid for, and then don't get the option to bid on an upgrade.

Does anyone have any experience with the timeline of assignments/upgrades, and could help provide some data points on what the best strategy is? Thanks

Got an external USB drive that had been opened and HDD swapped. Online customer support said I could not return it. Is this correct?

Ordered an 8gb WD external USB drive from BB online. I received it, and it was opened. Upon inspecting it, saw that it was replaced with a 1gb drive.

I spoke with an online agent, explained the situation, and they say they can't take it out since it's been opened and the warranty is voided.

How legit is this, and is it worth just bringing it to my local BB, and trying to return it in person? I know they're on the lookout for people replacing items, but I don't really have any other options.

What's the oldest reasonable Mac Mini I can use for Jellyfin?

I'm trying to create a proof of concept JF server, and if I use it a lot, I'll likely upgrade down the line. But for now, I want to try it out, see how I like it, before spending too much cash.

I see from the Plex sub, that some people are using Mac Minis from as far back as 2014. While I don't want to go that far back, I am considering picking up a cheap Mac Mini, so I wanted to see how far back I can go.

I'll realistically use it for 2 streams max, and I plan to host most of my files in 1080p, not 4k.

Also, if I set up a reverse proxy, does that mean I'll be able to stream on to devices that don't have a VPN or Tailscale? Thanks

Alternatives to the Roku Streambar?

Like a lot of you, I think it's time for me to move on from Roku.

The only issue is that I really like my streambar. It sounds great, and frankly, I really liked having the simplified Roku UI and remote, compared to google and amazon's cluttered interfaces.

But alas, anyone have any recs for similarly small but good sounding soundbars?

Any recourse for medical service that told me they were in-network, and turned out not to be, resulting in large bills?

Went to a podiatrist that had good reviews, and was conveniently located. When I called up, their receptionist told me they were in network for Cigna. Had the first appointment, then at a second one, the doctor said that she would check to see if my insurance covered orthodic inserts. After some confirmation, she said they did, and I got some.

Turns out they weren't. Got a $170 bill for first appointment, and then a $760 bill for the orthodics for my second appointment.

Called Cigna, and they basically just said that they can only process what the doctors billed them (which makes sense) and to talk with the doctor's office.

So at this point, it's their word against mine.

Is there any recourse for me in this situation? I've seen people call and ask to negotiate down their bills, but I honestly don't feel like I should pay anything because they mis-represented themselves twice.

Will adding storage to chime add any benefit to my wireless cam setup?

I have two wireless SoloCam S220s, a wireless e330 doorbell camera, and a plug in chime.

When I first installed everything, about 18 months ago, I would get a motion alert, and once I opened my phone, it would take 5-7 seconds for the camera to connect and show the clip or live feed.

Now, the cameras are taking more and more time to connect. Sometimes 15-20 seconds, or they just give an error message.

I know the Chime can sort of act like a hub for all the cameras and storage footage. So if I put a microSD card in it, when I get an alert, will this have any benefit, since my camera would connecting to video stored on the chime hub, which is always plugged in and connected (from my understanding)?

Buyer bought and used golf club, snapped it, and is asking for refund

From the comments I've seen on this sub, it seems like sellers have no real options when it comes to bad buyers, but figured I'd ask in my case.

Seller bought a virtually new golf club. Says they got it, tried it for a couple swings, and then it snapped right off.

They opened a return with the reason being "Doesn't work or defective", not INAD. In the return reason, they wrote that they used the club, and that it was defective.

Do I have any recourse in this, since they admitted they used it, or am I SOL, like it seems all sellers are.

Thanks

Credit Card application getting flagged as identify theft/fraud, all because Chase can't/won't verify my phone number?

I applied for an Air Canada card a month ago that should have been an easy approval, given my credit rating. I got something saying the application is being processed, and i'll get something in the mail.

What i received in the mail was a letter saying my application had been flagged for identify theft, and I'd need to call in in order to continue the process.

I call in, and both times, the Chase rep said they needed to send me a one time code, and then said they weren't able to based off my phone number. They they said they would disconnect, and call me back at my phone number with a secured call.

Both times, I got no call.

Not sure what to do. I have no issues receiving one time passwords or codes with any other service, but clearly, chase has some kind of issue, and is refusing to use any other method to verify my identity.
