Anybody else struggle with chickening out before going to the lab?

This is all going to sound silly, to preface the rest of this post.

I played a bit of Stalker 2, got caught up in work and couldn’t jump back into my old play-through. So I ended up downloading the original trilogy. I’ve never liked dealing with mutants or anomalies, so I’ve always dreaded the labs. I’m currently just about to go to the first lab in the dark valley and I keep procrastinating. I find myself almost scared to enter. Has anybody else experienced this kind of nervousness?

Any recommendations on what I should bring? Weapons, supplies or anything else?

EDIT: Made it through the lab. It wasn’t fun by any means, but it wasn’t so bad.

Why is Monolith hated?

As someone who only made it through the first quarter of the latest game, why is Monolith hated? My only encounter is in the main story missions where a Monolith soldier is helping a Stalker. I’m sure there are more reasons within lore. I’d love to learn something as I’m sure within the entire series there must be a reason why Monolith seems to have a negative reputation.

Dear DoorDash Drivers: if you get an order from a pizza place, perhaps don’t accept if you’re on a motorcycle? Or otherwise lacking a way to properly store them in transit…

I ordered from Papa John’s last night, and they didn’t have any drivers available so they had DoorDash deliver it. This is how our pizzas arrived.

The DoorDasher was on a motorcycle, had no thermal bag, and he either dropped them, or stored the boxes vertically. Both pizzas were mangled to heck, and one box had been popped open. I can’t believe the audacity of him to hand these over afterwards. I would be embarrassed as anything.
