This article kind of explains the early hockey career of Klepov and his path to the NHL. If you look at the wiki it says he was born in Florida with American nationality, but I couldn’t help notice a slight accent and heard others referring to him as Russian. Well it’s kind of both, he grew up in Russia. Apparently he was born in the US when his parents were visiting friends, but did not grow up here. Sounds like he’s also hoping to represent Russia at the international level if they ever are allowed to compete again. Just thought I’d clear that up for anyone else who’s confused. I don’t mean to imply that it matters one way or another which nationality he identifies with.
