Housemate’s ABA reminding me of my rapist

I live in a group home for the disabled. They use a lot of ABA on my one particular housemate. For example they will threaten her she will lose privileges if she doesn’t behave. Problem is this reminds me a lot of when my rapist threatened me and I’ve been having a ton of flashbacks and am not coping. Any ideas how to cope? Unfortunately the only other place to live would be another group home and I don’t imagine that would be any better.

Missing the community aspect of church

As much as the Catholic Church has hurt me, I’m really missing the community aspect lately. Have others found community in non-religious settings? How might I go about this?

Crying over waffles

I’m physically safe but feel unsafe. My traumatized brain is hunting for danger. I’ve been so overstimulated and crazed that now I’m crying over waffles. I hate this!

Medicare and Medicaid co-pay?

I have both Medicare and Medicaid. Straight Medicare and Wellpoint HMO for the Medicaid. I was told if I have both there is no co-pay and often there isn't. However some providers have questioned this and tried to charge me. Can they legally balance bill? If not how do I prove to them they can't? I'm in New Jersey if it makes any difference.

From anxious to jealous (clergy abuse survivor)

I am a clergy abuse survivor.  I used to fear religion.  However recently an acquaintance mentioned she enjoyed church that morning.  Instead of being fearful or uncomfortable I felt jealous.  Jealous that I grew up with such a negative experience with religion.  While still feeling happy for her.  Jealously isn't great but it's made me realize I've made a lot of progress and for that I am grateful.  Also if it comes up I want to tell her I am a survivor.  Speaking out has really been helping me lately too.

Warmline wait times?

My therapist keeps telling me to call warmlines since I don't have a lot of friends to call for support. Is it normal there is a long wait time to talk to someone or am I just having bad luck? I understand these places are probably mostly non-profits and volunteer-run but it's just my social anxiety is making it difficult to be on hold for a while. Is there a better time to call? What do you think off-peak hours would be for a place like that?

Disclosing clergy sexual abuse

Does anybody have any experience disclosing clergy sexual abuse to friends and family? The reactions I get have been overall positive however often the fact that it was a priest throws people off. It's like then I have to comfort them instead of the other way around. How do others cope with this?

I live in a group home now

I'm an autistic child abuse survivor. Due to the abuse giving me a dysregulated nervous system I have more frequent and intense autistic meltdowns so I now need to live in a group home. I don't like it here. I feel the abuser has stolen both my childhood and my adult life from me.
