Phoenix to Phoenix by way of California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. Incredible driving experience, sleeping experience was okay. Couldn’t quite stretch out as a 6 footer.

Anybody know how/why LandCruisers came to dominate the market in Papua New Guinea? Seems like about 90% of the vehicles on the roads here are LandCruisers. Are there other countries where this is true?

Makes it easy

Once in a great while, after the ice goes out and before it comes back in, the Chukchi Sea will clean up after a big storm leaving a little bit of energy behind for a few hours. It doesn’t last long so you have to drop everything and get on it. Smaller is better when it’s just you and nanuq out there.

Over here in Papua New Guinea, I bumped into a fellow anthropologist whose dad did a bit of climbing. She shared this picture with me that probably hasn’t been seen by many. How we share our shenanigans has changed over time but the climbs remain the same.
