Falcons revisionism
The past couple of days, I've been seeing a lot of comments about how important Shaiiko was, how much he did, and what he brought to the roster. And while I do agree that Shaiiko was important, it's a bit baffling how people see Falcons losing and immediately conclude "Yeah, they’re missing Shaiiko," which is a very simplistic way to look at it.
One of those claims was that Shaiiko was responsible for taking a lot of space, which he and Likefac sometimes did. But Falcons/BDS main space taker was Solotov. Shaiiko was more of a second entry.
Which brings me to my next point: a lot of people are comparing him to Solotov, which at first glance might make sense since they're both fraggers. However, Solotov's role is more risk-attached. On attack, he has to take space alone and take gunfights by himself, whereas Shaiiko usually had BriD or Yuzus by his side. On defence, Solotov was often playing death positions or solo roaming, whereas Shaiiko was playing more of a turret or cutts role.
Thirdly, now that Falcons are in a slump again, people are trying to reframe Shaiiko’s image as a "mental choker" by shifting the blame onto other players on the roster (Likefac and Solotov). But it's not as simple as "he is," "no, he isn't," or "no, they were." Everyone on that roster was mentally shutting down at times, Shaiiko included, as well as Likefac, Solotov, BriD, and Yuzus.
Lastly, Falcons' problems don't come from Shaiiko's absence, but from something more fundamental. We've seen it time and time again (even when Shaiiko was on the roster) that they never really managed to play like a team. No proper trading, no coordinated swings, not hitting site together, etc. etc.
