I lost some of my progress...

I was leveling some of my characters, a new party member (the Thief), and upgrading some gear in the Item World. Then I went back to the main story (Blair Forest), but the game got stuck, which forced me to reload my in-game save since nothing else worked. This can't be happening...

How to enable direct3d?

So I was trying to run Xanadu Next (game is from 2009, I think), but it says, "couldn't initialize direct3d". Any way to make this work?

Overwhelmed(?)

I'm not new to the SRPG genre, so it's not like I'm lost, but it's felt a little overwhelming so far.

To give a bit of context, everything was pretty normal until around chapter 3 (I think), when I had to level an item to level 10 to progress. I did that, but while I was at it, I decided to recruit some new units and get them up to the same level while also earning money for new armor and equipment.

Now I'm at a point where the game feels a bit overwhelming. I'm leveling units, taking exams and transmigrating them (which resets them to level 1), unlocking new classes, creating and leveling new units, farming money for better weapons and armor, upgrading gear through the Item World (which takes a while), while also overleveling my units for the main story (they are lvl 16), etc. etc.

Any team suggestions?

The title pretty much says it all: I need some new (meta) team recommendations. I haven't really been playing the game much lately apart from summoning. I own every sinner except Rust, Hypatia, Pylgia, and OwO. My current main team is a crit team with Yugu S1, Yingying S1, Vautour Bleu S1, L.L. S1, Jelena S4, and Ahin S2. My other two teams are an outdated Triple E team and a Dreya team. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Book recommendations?

Are there any academically up to date studies (books) on early Chinese history that aren't just broad overviews (anythkng is fine, really)? The only ones I'm aware of are To Rule All Under Heaven by Andrew Seth Meyer (not familiar with the author) the works of Yuri Pines.

Was meint ihr?

Need advice

Hey guys, I want to upgrade from my MacBook Air M1 and initially planned to get an M4 for around 800€, but I was wondering if there’s a better alternative at the same price point.

My daily use cases are pretty light: mostly uni stuff, sometimes watching movies, and occasionally playing lighter games like StarCraft or retro games I’ve been running through a third party program.

Falcons revisionism

The past couple of days, I've been seeing a lot of comments about how important Shaiiko was, how much he did, and what he brought to the roster. And while I do agree that Shaiiko was important, it's a bit baffling how people see Falcons losing and immediately conclude "Yeah, they’re missing Shaiiko," which is a very simplistic way to look at it.

One of those claims was that Shaiiko was responsible for taking a lot of space, which he and Likefac sometimes did. But Falcons/BDS main space taker was Solotov. Shaiiko was more of a second entry.

Which brings me to my next point: a lot of people are comparing him to Solotov, which at first glance might make sense since they're both fraggers. However, Solotov's role is more risk-attached. On attack, he has to take space alone and take gunfights by himself, whereas Shaiiko usually had BriD or Yuzus by his side. On defence, Solotov was often playing death positions or solo roaming, whereas Shaiiko was playing more of a turret or cutts role.

Thirdly, now that Falcons are in a slump again, people are trying to reframe Shaiiko’s image as a "mental choker" by shifting the blame onto other players on the roster (Likefac and Solotov). But it's not as simple as "he is," "no, he isn't," or "no, they were." Everyone on that roster was mentally shutting down at times, Shaiiko included, as well as Likefac, Solotov, BriD, and Yuzus.

Lastly, Falcons' problems don't come from Shaiiko's absence, but from something more fundamental. We've seen it time and time again (even when Shaiiko was on the roster) that they never really managed to play like a team. No proper trading, no coordinated swings, not hitting site together, etc. etc.

Falcons main problem?

Are Falcons now too Solotov dependent? In the past, you had Shaiiko who could take over when Solotov wasn't at his A-game, and vice versa. But now, if Solotov is out of the game, it feels like there's no one who can fill his role and get those kills

So, my M1 Air broke down, and I'm considering whether I should get the newest Air model (800) or just buy a used Pro model for around the same price. I saw an M1 Max going for 900, though the M1 might be a bit too old. The Air would be more than enough for my daily use, but having a higher-resolution screen and a stronger CPU is tempting, especially since I play strategy games like StarCraft from time to time, which the Air had issues with.
