Met Rob, Daddy G, Horace Andy and Elizabeth Fraser

I still can’t believe it, I never thought I’d get to see Massive Attack live. They were all super kind and hopped out of their cars for us, the funniest interaction was Horace ‘Sleepy’ Andy, Rob was super kind to us 5 fans despite security rushing him and he took a photo with all of us.

Glad they came back to Australia after 16 years- I was 5 last time they were here.

And to top it off Elizabeth signed me and my gfs (Cocteau twins is her fav artist) records and took photos.

met Elizabeth on her most recent massive attack tour

Definitely a highlight of my life, my gf was ecstatic to meet her and she signed both of our heaven or Las Vegas records and blue bell knoll, she was really sweet and kind enough to take a photo with us.

P.S. her voice was angelic on black milk and teardrop.

Most surreal moment of my life

Meeting not only Robert Del Naja, but Daddy G, Horace Andy AND Elizabeth Fraser and they all signed my records and took photos with me after an incredible final show of their tour. They were all so sweet and spoke with a few of us for 10 mins, never thought I’d get to massive attack live in Australia in my life since it’s been 16 years since they last played here.

I have a question about fret buzz on a brand new guitar

So I finally decided to buy a more “expensive” guitar than my current cheaper one because that one has fret buzz and feels pretty poor to play, so I paid about $760 AUD for a nice Squire Jazzmaster which feels 10x better to play, i took it home and I noticed it had quite annoying fret buzz anytime I played any kind of bar chord on the E and A string pretty much on the entire fret board which drives me nuts, I took it back to the store and they said it needs a setup $130AUD, I’m pretty bummed that I spent all this money on a brand new guitar and it comes with fret buzz off the bat.

How common is fret buzz on a brand new Jazzmaster? I paid for the setup and I get it in 2 weeks, hopefully it plays nicely. Can someone reassure me that it’s pretty normal for this to happen 😭 do you guys pay for a setup when you buy a brand new guitar?

My signed records so far, post yours in the comments

Had a pretty successful year getting my stuff signed after shows, would love to get a Mac Demarco signature next time he’s comes to Aus.

What can I do to make my solos sound less dry?

Maybe it’s just my playing but I recently bought a chorus pedal and it’s made it better a bit

Has anyone else become nihilistic/had their world view shattered?

I’ve been sick with stomach issues since I was 15, im now 21 and it’s gotten progressively 10x worse and more severe. Also meaning I can’t even enjoy one of the biggest pleasures in life - food.

But ever since I turned 19 when the sickness got really bad, im incredibly nihilistic, and there’s there’s this horrible dread which I can’t quite pin down, even when im out of a really bad “flare”. (probably because I know im vulnerable and could flare whenever so i never feel safe). I can’t quite describe it and it’s really hard to articulate but life just never feels the same, you look at the world and people around you and you just feel so different and like you live in another extremely dark universe, that innocent-ness I had when I was 14 just before I got sick is just completely gone and I can never see life the same. I’m not sure if nihilism is the correct word but it’s like you’ve got a pair new glasses you can never take off once you’ve seen the world the way you do now.

‘Farewell and Goodnight’ could be the most perfect album closer ever

Farewell and Goodnight is such a beautiful and melancholic album closer and it makes me feel like crying and makes me so nostalgic even though I wasn’t even alive in the 90s yet. My throat feels like razor blades when this one comes on, it’s so sweet that all the members sing on this one.

This album is my favourite of all time it’s beyond perfect.

Some photos I took of Frost Children at their Melbourne show

I posted them on insta (@jameskeane0) and tagged both of them but I don’t think they saw it rip. Anyways thought this would be a good place to post them.

Album of the Day: Metaphorical Music by Nujabes

I genuinely think Nujabes is one of the best music producers of all time, and I still believe he’s severely underrated, sampling jazz, creating this Brazilian samba style - soul - jazz fusion lofi almost even trip hop with boom bap style rap layered into the beat.

My favourite tracks are Lady Brown, F.I.L.O, Blessing It, Highs 2 Lows & Peaceland.

His other album Modal Soul is incredible as well. RIP to the goat. ❤️

This is the 4th time getting the flu since having this condition apparently, and everytime I have the flu I’m fine initially, but as soon as the flu is over, standing up makes my heart rate skyrocket, it feels like I can’t breathe, and my already constant palpitations are significantly worse, I remember going to the ER 8 months ago because I thought I was gonna die from not being able to breathe and my arms going completely numb. Anyone else get these kind of symptoms after a flu.

This sucks everyone spreads the flu and doesn’t care and it ruins my life for up to a month or more

I love umbrella, criterion and arrow so much. Umbrella is severely underrated I think they have the best art of any label, the slips are so nice. Especially in recent years.

When he left the venue outside, I held my record up to him all the way to his car but he refused to sign, anyone know why? Has anyone got a photo of a video of me being a tool holding it to him and he didn’t sign it rip lol

u/Accurate-Chicken-323 — 4 months ago

I was the bloke who held the live LA record up to him when he came out at the Melbourne N2 show but he refused to sign it which is is absolutely tragic but oh well. If anyone has a photo or a video of me with him could you post it or send it to me.
