BRUMBLE 2.0 is here 🤩

If you have been around Matiks for a while, you might already know about Brumble.

This time, it is getting much bigger.

🏫 100+ colleges

🧠 Mind games, logic, memory and strategy

🏆 Prizes for the top performers

🎁 Exclusive merchandise

The basic idea is pretty simple.

You represent your college and compete against other colleges in a bunch of games that actually test how quickly you can think and adapt.

Last year's Brumble was an Inter-IIT competition. This time, it is opening up to colleges across the country.

And honestly, this could get really fun once colleges start getting competitive about it 😏

So if you think your college has some cracked players, this might be a good time to get them involved.

Which college do you think is going to be the one to win this time? 👀

Anyone traveling from Kolkata to Bhubaneswar for GDG "Deploy or Die"

I'm attending Deploy or Die by GDG on Campus KIIT on August 8–9, 2026, and I'll most likely be traveling from Kolkata.

I'm looking for anyone else attending the event from Kolkata. We could:

  • Travel together (train/bus)
  • Share local transport

The logo is throwing me off. It says RSSB, but the image uses a random "RS SB" logo instead of the official Rajasthan Staff Selection Board emblem. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Counselling Doubt: Skipped Round 2 Verification, What Happens to My IT Seat?

My friend got IT in Round 1 through choice filling. He went to the college for document verification and selected yes upgradation. In Round 2, he was again allotted the same IT seat. He did not go for document verification in Round 2. In Round 3, he filled his choices again. If he doesn't get CSE in Round 3, will his original IT seat still be available, or will he lose it because he skipped verification in Round 2?

🚨 NEED TO UNITE: It’s Time We Stand Up Against MAKAUT’s Broken System 🚨

Hey everyone,

It’s time we talk about the reality of what’s happening at our university. Many of you have likely seen the message circulating (referencing the points in Attached Below), and it perfectly captures the absolute mess we are dealing with. If we silently gulp down these issues, the university will only keep tightening the screws. Even our schools weren't this unnecessarily strict.

We are calling on all affiliated college students and main campus students to unite and stand against these practices. Here is exactly why we need to speak up:

❌ The Continuous Assessment (CA) System is a Joke

  • Zero Transparency: The entire marking process for CAs is a black box. The whole system runs on "word of mouth" rather than actual, verifiable metrics.
  • Hidden Allotments: There is absolutely no way for us to check the marks we were allotted out of 5 from the 30 marks (which consists of 25 CA marks).
  • CA Overload: Why are we forced to take 4 CAs when 2 should be more than enough? In an average semester lasting just 4-5 months, there is zero time to prep. You get a 2-week gap, and suddenly another CA pops up.

📉 Academic & Structural Incompetence

  • Chaotic Timelines: The academic calendar makes no sense. We have some semesters dragging on for 8 months, while others are crammed into a ridiculously short 3 months.
  • Flawed Mark Distribution: There is no proper weightage distribution across subject modules, and marks are not distributed in a healthy or logical manner.
  • Backdated Syllabus & No Placements: We are studying an outdated syllabus that is completely incapable of producing job-ready professionals. What is the point of all this extreme strictness when it doesn't even lead to placements?
  • Departmental Harassment: Why should a CS or IT student be forced to deal with harassment from out-of-touch faculties in the Mechanical department?

🚫 Inhumane Treatment During Exams

  • The incompetence has reached a point where basic human needs are being ignored. Today, we saw inhumane behavior, like invigilators stopping students from taking a simple bio break just to cover for the university's administrative failures.

What exactly are they showing this strictness for when the system itself is failing us?

We cannot let this continue. We need to assemble, voice our grievances collectively, and demand transparency, fair treatment, and a modernized academic structure.

Drop your thoughts, personal experiences, and college names below. Let’s get this thread trending and show the administration that we won't be pushed around anymore. ✊
