Looking for INTP friend

M24 INTP 5w4 here, looking for an INTP friend I could converse or just vibe with..

I am currently in Taiwan, so I am looking for anyone here... It'd be better if you are local so we can exchange languages! But anyone is welcome.

I am currently learning Chinese.

I love playing games, any game with a good story or just action: Elden Ring, Baldur's Gate 3, etc.

I am Into philosophy, the classics like Socrates, Plato, or Schopenhauer, Camus, Nietzsche...

Love constellations and stars! My undergraduate thesis was literally about how you can build buildings on the moon!

I love flowers and flower almanacs!

Into Manhwa and Anime, I love all genres, whether it's sci-fi, slice of life, or romance. If you are into Steins;Gate, A Sign of Affection, Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint...

I am currently making AI Agents... I am trying to make an AI that has "feelings," is "independent," and perhaps one day can give you the illusion of "consciousness" in a much more natural way, unlike the normal AI wrapper. natural way unlike the normal AI wrapper.

If you think I am the kind of person you could vibe with, let's be friends!

Do Looks Matter?

Everyone seems to be obsessed with love, but to be loved you need some sort of "attraction"

while character is important, I think "look" is just equally important...

I mean I can't imagine falling in love with someone solely for their great character... and vice versa...

What do you guys think?

I feel like I crossed the boundary

Wondering if it's just me or if others have experienced this as well. I love exploring ideas, but as I dig deeper, they sometimes twist into something morally or ethically questionable. I've never really limited my mind because I don't focus on ethics or morals when exploring what's possible, though I still follow them in real life to avoid trouble. Deep down, I view ethics and morality mostly as social constructs that serve little purpose beyond maintaining social harmony.

I'm pretty sure if I were to ask some of the specific questions on my mind, I'd get attacked here, lol. But either way—do you guys think the same way, or am I just exceptionally weird?

ps: Personally i thought about this after figuring out my kink... And who another person I thought would be the perfect partner...

I just feel like damn, how depraved, corrupt, insane, beyond salvation I am... 🥲

How do you guys calm yourself?

I just had a fun interaction with my group of college friend...

Though when I got home, my mind feel restless. It feels like mix of anxiety and excitement, and I can't quite point out why.. but I guess even though the conversation sounds exciting I also feel ignored at some point? That's why?

Is it Bad to be a Hypocrite?

For example I hate liar and telling lies but at the same time I also know that as a human being at some point, some degree of lies are needed therefore I also lie.

I am doing something I despise, mean I am a hypocrite.

But what is wrong with being a Hypocrite?

Does it mean I am a bad person? Unreliable and untrustworthy?

But does it matter?

People less likely to care or aware of how hypocritical I am and being absolutely in the pure no lies spectrum is impossible as a human anyway...

So again does it matter?

What do you guys think? It's just my random thought tho

How do you forget about someone?

It feels like I already know the answer. Cut off their social media, delete their contact, just basically remove all ties with them.

But it feels tough, I already did this many times and it's always a painful decision to make.

It feels exhausting...

To give you context:

I am an INTP (5w4, M24) and I’ve fallen for my cousin (ISTP 5w4, F23). A couple of months ago, I moved to her country for my studies. Before this, we had only met once last year, and prior to that, we hadn't seen each other since we were kids (around 5–7 years old).

When I first arrived, she was surprisingly warm and caring in her own quiet way. She would approach me first, strike up conversations, and help me with small things.

Our Current Dynamic:

I visit her house about 2 to 3 times a month. When I'm there, she spends most of her time in her room. However, when she does come out, we usually watch movies together in comfortable silence, chit-chat, or walk her dog in the afternoon. Over time, she has opened up and shared a lot about herself. We have a ton in common, even if our minds reach conclusions through different paths.

During a late-night conversation, I asked her how close she was to her other cousins. She told me that I am the closest cousin she has. Naturally, this stirred up feelings and left me overanalyzing. Looking at her behavior, I constantly flip-flop between thinking she likes me and thinking she doesn't.

While there is a lot I appreciate about her, her distance and lack of communication are incredibly frustrating. As my feelings grow, I want to talk to her more, but it is becoming exhausting. Her responses are highly inconsistent—one moment she will explain something with incredible depth, and the next, she seems entirely shallow or detached.

Her emotional unavailability is what hurts the most. It feels impossible to approach her when I actually try, yet everything flows naturally when I stop putting in effort.

I don't think this situation is sustainable. I need to distance myself because I can't handle the hot-and-cold attitude anymore. (Honestly, as an INTP, I usually think I'm the emotionally distant one—it turns out getting a taste of my own medicine is brutal.)

Also both of us being first cousin doesn't seem like a deal breaker to me. Everyone's ancestors have married their cousin at some point in the lineage, I don't really see it as a taboo. The concern is more about the child, though the defect rate is 4-7% probably equal to the risk of having child when you are at the age beyond 30... well i digress

But again despite my view of what is taboo or what is not. I am basically trying to detach from her. So any advice on this is very welcome.

Or feel free to debate me on my view, we may stray from the purpose of this post but it would be fun I bet.

Is this just how ISTPs show they care, or am I reading too much into it?

There's an ISTP in my life who I've known for a while. Few days ago I was moving my stuff from dorm to a new place and casually mentioned it, not seriously, just in passing. They showed up to help anyway.

The thing is, the whole process took less than an hour. They knew it would be quick. They also had a conference paper due the next day, so they brought a laptop and worked the entire time, in the car and at the restaurant during lunch.

Oh and they live 1.5 hours away. So 3 hours of travel total, for a move that took under an hour.

Didn't make a big deal out of it. Didn't say anything meaningful. Just came, helped, ate, left and went back to work.

For context, earlier this year I graduated, and they didn't come. But I never actually asked them to. I just kind of assumed they wouldn't or didn't think to invite them directly.

There was also this moment where I tried a dumb joke, I pretended to ask if I could pat the dog, she said yes, then I patted her head instead. She evaded a few times when I tried it again, eventually just said no with a smile. Not annoyed, just no. I still managed to pat her anyway though and she just let it happen.

So now I'm wondering, is the difference here that I asked this time, even casually? Like does explicitly asking matter a lot to ISTPs? Or is this just them being a good friend regardless of any deeper meaning?

I genuinely can't tell if I'm reading into it or if I'm correctly reading a language I don't fully understand yet.

But my theory is she like me? i dont want to be too confidence in my conclusion because i know i have this loser syndrome where everytime someone show a little kindness i conclude it as romantical attraction...

fellow INTP! give me your logical insight!

Do you think it's possible to Love without asking for anything in return?

I have been thinking lately, why love is beautiful yet so painful at the same time.

And I realize that this happens because I expect 'something' in return every time I care or love for someone.

"I expect them to love me back or at least show the same amount of love."

This is when I wonder, why can't I just enjoy the act of caring for them, loving them, and looking at them being happy rather than asking for something in return?

Afterall love isn't transactional right?

If it's transactional it's not true love...

After realizing this I tried to bring down my expectations and if it's possible I will try to love and care without much expectations.

What do you guys think? Is it unreasonable? Unrealistic? Illogical?

ps: i wrote this because one particular specimens of istp I really liked, for context I am an INTP

What is your opinion about building a family?

I think being alone would be more practical for ISTP right? But tbh i am not sure since i am not one myself lol

this is what i think:
For male ISTP maybe its okay
For female ISTP maybe not okay, because of pregnancy, role expectation etc...

What does it mean when you guys suddenly chat a person?

So I like this one ISTP and in the past few months it's been like me sending her random reels and it took her like 1-2 weeks to just reply with a sticker. Looking at how long it took her to reply, I decide to not do it anymore.

I meet her once every 2-3 weeks.

She never send me any reels first or chat me. So I find it strange when she suddenly messaged me and said her dog became clingy after I left...

Just why now? Just wanna know the reasoning behind this.

Informing someone about your dog's behavior doesn't feel very istp to me

You guys really comfortable with staying in a room doing your own thing while the others do something else?

I really dont have to say anything?
But can i still say anything at all?
like suddenly asking your opinion about existencial philosophy?
