If you have a Sonos home theater setup (Arc, Sub, surrounds etc.) and try to group in a speaker that doesn’t support Dolby Atmos (like the Move 2) through the Sonos app, the entire group drops from Atmos down to lossless. Sonos normalizes everything to the lowest common denominator.

But if you stream a Dolby Atmos track from Apple TV to your Sonos surround setup and then add the Move 2 to the group, the surround system holds onto Atmos and the Move 2 just receives lossless. Best of both worlds.

Not a huge use case but if you’re someone who uses ATV as your main media hub and has a mixed Sonos setup across rooms, this is a nice little win. Full Atmos on your main setup, no need to kick the Move 2 or Era 100 out of the group.

This is totally my favorite feature I added to Hello Atmos. So many pages will make more sense now. I just added the 'Atmos Playlist Builder' that follows you across all pages.

🔧 First, the bug fix:

Apparently, the scanner was only picking up the first 100 albums (the tracks scanning was fine). I didn't catch that, because I had just below 100 albums added to my library. Now it picks up all of them. So worth running the scan again now if you haven't yet.

And I improved the experience during the scan, so that the scan progress is clear at every step.

Okay, now the fun part:

Collect Dolby Atmos tracks from anywhere on Hello Atmos, including your library, the rankings, Hidden Gems, or a scan, and save them all to a new or existing Apple Music playlist. A selection counter follows you as you browse so you can build a playlist without losing your place.

What does this unlock?

1. Personal Top Atmos Playlist

If you've been rating tracks/albums, you can now easily create your Top Atmos tracks playlist from your profile.

2. Unrated Playlist

On the ranking page you can now easily create a playlist with all tracks you have not rated yet, by filtering by unrated.

3. Hidden Gems Playlists

You can now just tap to add Atmos mixes that only a few listeners have discovered (just 1, 2 or 3 ratings)
