I just watched dominion for the very first time and I feel scarred. Not only because this is what I’ve been eating my entire life ignorantly, but what scars me even more is that I belong to the same species that is capable of doing that sort of thing to another living being. The sounds those animals make, the conditions they go through, what ever happened to the golden rule?? Do as what will be done to thou. I’m sorry little piggies, I’m sorry cows. I wish I could snap our own existence off this planet.

I’m currently on the sales side at a Google Cloud-focused startup, and I’m finding myself completely overwhelmed by the sheer breadth of what we touch.

When you’re selling across the entire stack: infrastructure, cloud security, modern data/analytics, logging/monitoring, and now trying to shoehorn enterprise AI/ML use cases into every conversation, how on earth do you actually structure your motion?

With point-solution sellers, life seems you find a pain point for that specific tool, demo it, and run a POC.

But when you’re selling across the whole ecosystem what do you do differently?

About ten years ago, I completely changed how I eat and live. Around that same time, I watched the documentary Earthlings for the first time.

I have been putting off rewatching it ever since because I knew how clearly it shows the terrible things we do to other creatures. Tonight, I finally forced myself to sit down and watch it for the second time.

The biggest thing I realized this time around is not just the physical abuse. It is the human mind. We are capable of so much love, yet people actually sit down and design complex, automatic systems just to kill other living things faster and more efficiently.

This shows a huge gap in human nature. We have totally separated our intelligence from our hearts. If we can treat other living things, who are just born here trying to survive like us, with such cold and organized cruelty, it proves something is deeply wrong with us.

I know there is beauty and love in the world, but this reality shows that humans are the most destructive thing on the planet.

What if you were stuck on a desert island with no fruit, no beans, no potatoes, no tofu, no lentils, no roots, no coconuts, no roots, no grains, no nuts, no seeds, no shoes, no clothes, no phone, no market, no mushroom, no water, no air, huh?

What about protein? What about B12? Don't plants feel pain? What about lions and tigers? What about wolves? What about sharks? And that one guy on youtube who looks like a weak soyboy? What about our ancestors? What about avocados? And almonds? AND BACON THOUGH

What about my uncle who went vegan for 3 days and exploded and his dog died? What if the animal was a jerk?

What if the animal had a good life and wanted to become a cheese burger?

I don’t quite understand why a higher % of ru58841 (eg 8% vs 5%) *allegedly* leads to higher risk of scalp irritation despite using the same volume.

I’ve been using pg-free solvent for my RU as well as have been leaving it overnight but now I’m starting to wonder if that is causing my scalp to itch.

I think we need to stop hiding behind sanitized words like processing, harvesting, and livestock.

I know I am a hypocrite. I eat meat. And I love a good hamburger as much as the next person, and I do my best to minimize buying from factory farms, but it is almost impossible when something like 99% of the meat out there comes from these places.

Still, what I see happening inside industrial factory farms right now is an unending, assembly-line slaughter on a scale so massive it defies human comprehension. It is a perpetual holocaust of living, feeling, terrified creatures, and the fact that we look away because it is convenient is a profound moral sickness.

Every single day, millions of animals with central nervous systems, complex emotional structures, and a desperate desire to live are brought into existence solely to endure a lifetime of systematic torture. I always think about pigs, which are creatures with the intelligence and emotional depth of young children, confined to crates so small they can never turn around, literally going insane from the monotony and confinement. I have seen how chickens are genetically manipulated to grow so fast their own legs snap under their weight, left to starve in the dark on filth-covered floors.

I truly believe future generations will look back at this era with the exact same horror and disgust we feel when looking back at the darkest atrocities in human history.

Curious if anyone has actually moved the needle on their allocation because of fiscal policy, or if this is just something we're expected to "ignore" while the S&P 500 keeps climbing.
