Anti-abortion rally by Christian outfits - TN assembly speaker attended
Christian Right wing's Pro Life campaign being spread in TN imported from west. This idea advocated by Right wing Christians motivated only because of a passage in Bible (I have known you before you formed in the womb)
It puts women's right on their own body and life choices in a question. Abortion is legally protected in India but with social stigma around it, it's still difficult.
Worse is TN Assembly Speaker JCD Prabakar of TVK attended the rally. This will embolden these religious outfits & fringe elements, will eventually lead to polarisation. Dravidian parties for so many decades kept them at bay.
Is this a genuine concern or is it just fear mongering
I found a video comparing European and Indian regulations for skincare and edible products. It claims that Indian products are significantly more harmful than their European counterparts. Of course, Indian products are also much cheaper, so the company can cater to our income brackets. Is this at least some truth, or is the video oversimplifying the issue or fearmongering?
