Order from Canada question…

I didn’t realize ThredUp ships to Canada?! I’ve been waiting to buy from ThredUp forever!! I made an order and my Canadian address was used with no issues. But then I noticed their terms say they only ship to Canada from their Suwanee Georgia location. I’m just wondering if anyone has more experience ordering from Canada, will my order be canceled if the item I ordered is at another location? Or will they send it to Suwanee and ship it from there? I couldn’t find the location the item is at from the listing.

Need Advice

I ordered an item that stated the country of origin was Australia. I made the purchase a while ago. I just checked the listing to see if it had shipped yet because it’s been some time. I immediately noticed the tracking says it’s being shipped with China Post. Now I’m pretty sure that it’s being drop shipped and likely it will be a replica. I’m well aware China Post doesn’t operate in Australia. Why else would the seller lie about where they’re located and the item is being shipped from?! I messaged them to say everything I order is authenticated by at least two professional authenticators and I also video myself opening all my packages. I said if you’re planning on drop shipping me a counterfeit item please cancel the order and save us both the hassle. I’m just wondering if there’s anything else I can do? Will EBay do anything given you can’t lie and misrepresent where you’re shipping from and which country you’re based in. I was under the impression it’s against EBay TOS to put your location on your listing in a different location than your actual country of origin.

Delay

Just wondering if there’s a backlog or delay of some kind in Halifax? A package I sent arrived there the day before yesterday. It originally said it was being delivered yesterday then changed to say it will go out the next business day (today). Today it changed to just say “delayed”. No explanation. The package is at the destination facility. I called Canada Post and they said they’d get back to me today but never did. I’m just trying to figure out if it’s an issue with just the package I sent or if it’s a facility delay. The list of service disruptions and it says nothing about that area. If anyone has any feedback on what could be happening I’d appreciate it.

Question..?

Hi, I’ve run into an issue with a package that originated with Australia Post and was handed over to Canada Post. The company I ordered the item from had me prepay duties. Once the package cleared customs I was then again asked to pay duties. The sender’s understanding was that Australia Post would give the prepayment to Canada Post and act as a broker. However after asking the Canada Post employees it seems that isn’t something that’s possible with government postal companies. I just want to make very sure this is accurate before I email the company back and request a refund for the duties. Can anyone confirm it is in fact accurate that Australia Post does not have the ability to hand duties over to the Postal Service in another country?

Being charged duties twice…need advice

I imported a package from Australia. I paid the duties at checkout. I paid $280 in duties and $50 for shipping on a $600 purchase. Yesterday Canada Post received the package and now they're attempting to charge me $85 in duties. I called customer service and explained to them that I paid duties at checkout and the package was shipped with duties prepaid. I explained the duties I already paid should be on the customs paperwork and that I'm not going to pay them a second time. Customer service was not helpful. They told me to show my CP delivery guy my receipt and explain I already paid duties. Clearly that's not going to work. Obviously the delivery person doesn't have the ability to just waive the duties. My delivery guy is amazing and I don’t think this issue should fall on him. Clearly customer service is trying to pass the issue. I'm looking for advice as to what I should do? Is there someone who I can email the customs documents to? There's clearly been some kind of mistake. The bottom line is I've already paid duties that were equivalent to almost 50% of the cost of my purchase. I'm not going to now pay Canada post again and hope they eventually refund me. I don't understand how it's even possible they don't have the breakdown of the payment and duties since they obviously have the customs paperwork to say l owe duties. I've prepaid duties many times and I've never once had this happen. Someone clearly messed up and I need to figure out how to fix this before my package arrives. I saw something about "Connect" service for submitting documents to Canada Post but the page doesn't work. Any advice on who I can contact would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise my only option would be to self clear the package which I've never previously done with Canada Post. If anyone has any info on how to self clear l'd love any advice.

Outland Denim package forwarding

Hi, to my cousins in Australia. I’m in Canada and I’ve fallen in love with Outland Denim. I put items in my cart and went to check out to find that they don’t ship to Canada. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. They have jeans I’ve been looking for that are sold out everywhere else. I’m aware that there are companies that will forward packages. I’m just wondering if anyone can tell me if Outland is a reputable company firstly? Secondly if anyone has any advice about what company to use? I also love DOF Studios and I really need to figure out a way to access the fantastic retail stores you have in Australia. I’d sincerely appreciate any advice.

CTT Courier shipping

I have a package that was sent from Portugal to Canada via CTT. It apparently left Portugal 4 days ago. After that no updates. I do a lot of buying internationally. Usually it takes 24-48 hours for packages to get from the original country of origin to my local postal service. I’m just wondering if anyone has any insight into whether it s normal for this specific courier to take this long? It’s out of the ordinary for me so just looking for any information from anyone who’s used CTT to ship internationally…

Need feedback…

I made a purchase on VC. I used the promo code JOY100 in my cart when I made this purchase. However it was not actually applied when my credit card was charged. I put it into the cart and pressed "Apply". It was applied to the price. It said the final price was $200.05 when I pressed "pay" at checkout. However then I was instead charged $219.25. I checked the receipt and the promo is not showing. I'm assuming it was some kind of glitch. It's pretty disappointing that the checkout said one price when I authorized the payment but I was charged a completely different price and it appears the promo wasn't actually applied. I'm not sure what happened but that isn't the price I agreed to pay at checkout.

So I reached out to customer service. They tried to gaslight me and essentially told me that I’m just wrong and didn’t see the other price. I double even triple checked the price before hitting pay. It’s pretty obvious their system has a glitch. But they refuse to admit that there was an error on their end. I looked into it and to my understanding it’s not even legal to charge a different price than stated at checkout. She just kept saying it expired. Then why didn’t the payment page void and make me restart. Or why didn’t the final price adjust? It’s pretty obvious it’s an issue with their system. She then asks me to provide a copy of a receipt showing the other price. I again explained that price isn’t shown on the receipt. The whole thing is giving me a headache.

I’ve been buying on Vestiaire for years. I’ve made thousands and thousands worth of dollars in purchases. I’ve never had a big issue or anything but a positive experience. This experience has really put a bad taste in my mouth. Customer service was extremely rude and off putting. They kept saying the same thing over and over using pleasant words to essentially say I’m seeing things. What would they do if there was an issue with a high value product? This is the quality of service I’d get? This is making me rethink using their site again. I’m just wondering if anyone else ever had something similar happen?

Tracking scan delays?!

What is going on with the system?! I’ve noticed this the last few packages I had. There will be scans but they won’t show up on tracking for 5 to 10 hours after they’re done. I’m so confused. Is this a system update that caused this or a glitch? I never experienced this before it’s so weird.

Is this normal?

So my package arrived at the Chicago ILC hub yesterday. No processing scan. Now it just says “in transit to next facility”. I’m in Canada so the next facility should be customs here. Just want to make sure it’s not an issue that I didn’t get a processing scan? Sorry I’m not used to the USPS jargon and I just want to be sure. I heard a lot of packages just disappear at this international hub.

I ordered a pair of Alala sunglasses that cost $554 including tax (490 before tax). Instead I was sent a pair of Marc Jacobs sunglasses worth $250 before taxes. They want me to agree to pay them the customs fees and return shipping to get a return label. I would be fine with that if this wasn't their mistake and they weren't trying to rip me off. I had no intention of returning my original purchase. I checked the customs paperwork sent with the package. They under declared the package at customs. They stated the value was $294 CAD (216.05 USD) when the value before taxes was 490 CAD (360 USD). That's a discrepancy of $144 USD that they declared to customs. But they want me to agree to pay duties for the $490 amount they never even paid for a product I never received. They either knew they were sending me the incorrect product and did this to charge me inflated return fees. Or they lied to customs and border agencies. The product arrived with no sunglasses box. It was packed in a reused Bausch & Lomb contacts lens box. I have never had a more unprotessional experience. I've tried to contact customer service many times with no response. Please save yourself the headache. I'm going to have to report them to the appropriate customs/border and consumer protection agencies. Ive attached photos. The black ones are what I ordered. The brown ones of significantly less value are what I was sent. This is embarrassing, these companies need to do better.

Im considering buying a bag from Italist. Firstly what was your experience like if you purchased anything from them? I noticed the checkout shows taxes owing but duties owed are $0. I’m in Canada. Curious if anyone can tell me if duties are fully paid at checkout? Or did you have to pay additional duties at delivery?
