I am 25M from Bengaluru. I come from a science background and currently work in science communication. But for a while now, I’ve been wanting to move deeper into filmmaking - not just making content about science, but actually making films where science is part of the story.

I’m especially interested in films that take real science, scientific ideas and theories seriously, rather than using pseudoscience as a shortcut for mystery. Films like Arrival, Interstellar, Contact, The Martian, Project hail mary and Gattaca are some of the kinds of films that make me excited about this topic because they are rooted in real science.

I’m still a generalist at this point. I’m figuring out whether my strongest place is directing, writing, cinematography, editing, producing, or some weird combination of all of them. What I do know is that I love telling stories, and I want to learn how films are actually made by working with people who are already doing it.

So this is honestly, a slightly desperate attempt to find my way into the filmmaking community. I don’t really have filmmaker friends or a filmmaking network yet, and I’m trying to change that.

If you’re a beginner like me, someone somewhere in the middle, or an experienced filmmaker who is interested in figuring out how to portray science clearly and accurately without sacrificing the aesthetics, emotion or narrative language of a film, I’d love to hear from you.

And I’m not limiting this to science. I’m happy to help with research, story development, writing, editing, production or simply be another person on the set who is willing to learn and do the work.

Right now, as a beginner, science is the one thing I can confidently bring to the table. So I’m starting there instead of pretending I have a filmmaking career I don’t have.

I'm wondering if there are any musicians, producers, or composers here who are as excited about making original music as I am. I'd love to find someone who's in it for the creative process and wants to build something from scratch.

I have a rough demo of one Malayalam song I made using BandLab loops. It's nowhere close to a finished track, but it should give you an idea of my songwriting and the kind of music I'm trying to make.
