Hi and thank you for reading! I’m a foster and rescuer of cats and kittens in South FL. When I say I help all cats I mean ALL cats, if you’re friendly I’m finding you help and a home. I also help some of my colony feeder friends with their friendly cats! On top of that I bottle feed and foster URI and ringworm kittens. I take the guys all the rescues say no to basically!

So Tom was dumped in the Redlands, which is a place lowlifes abandoned pets, mainly dogs but also cats. He was approaching everyone for help and well his finder did tell me if I didn’t take him she was just going to dump him back in the Redlands! So even super full and overtired and overwhelmed I said yes. He went to a health check to get cleared for transport up north with one of our bigger rescues and this boy FAILED. He needs teeth extractions (he has an infection with puss pouring out they said) and he has a skin infection, severe enough that I’ve already gotten him a Convenia shot out of my own pocket.

They quoted me $500, which is a good deal with the amount of dental surgery this guy needs. This guy is a snuggle bug big boy, young and charming. I know it’s tough right now but if you can please donate so Tom gets his happy future. I will update you here about him! Also he’s up for adoption if you know anyone looking for a big cute lug! I will be picky as he deserves a happy ending after all he’s been through.

Hello Reddit cat community and thank you for reading. I live in South Florida where there is a cat crisis. I have been fostering cats and kittens since I moved here and I take in the cats no one else will, which means I often take in adult cats. For instance right now I have a cat I named Big Frank who has Entropian, which means that his eyelashes were going into his eyeballs. He lived like that for two years outside, Miami, unfixed; scars cover his full head. His surgery was free of charge at one of our top clinics, Street Cat Clinic.

Recently, I took in a cat that has been abandoned in the Redlands. For anyone unfamiliar the Redlands in Florida is a dumping ground for pets. Many dogs form packs there. He was approaching people for help, rubbing legs and crying. In a series of events I became his Foster. One of those events was the finder telling me if I didn’t take him, she was just going to dump him back in the Redlands. If you can imagine, she does dog rescue here!

The idea is to get him on transport up to the north and into one of their great rescues, but he went through a health check recently to be approved for transport with one of our bigger cat rescues here and he failed. He has an infection raging in his mouth, they say it is dental and he has pus coming from his dental infections. He urgently needs dental surgery. This rescue has offered to do the surgery for him at a affordable rate however, I have so many other fosters and my own cats (also a one year old human baby!) that I cannot alone pay for this. Plus, we already paid $100 for a Convenia shot for his skin infection.

Tom is the most lovely affectionate and sweetest big boy. Although he is a big cat, he is a gentle giant with purrs and love for everybody. If you see Tom and think he’d be a perfect fit for your home also, please reach out, he is up for adoption as soon as his health issues are sorted. Thank you!

🆘 ⚠️ VERY URGENT: staff has sent a PLEA alerting is that HUGHEY is in grave ⚠️ danger FRIDAY 5/8 morning‼️😢 He needs a rescue, foster, or adoption to express interest by 6 PM Thursday night as he has been at the shelter beyond 15 days and is on the list‼️. If no one steps forward, he will not survive simply because he is a long stay dog‼️😩
