The wastage is ridiculous at Greggs...

I'm talking about stuff that can't be sent to outlets, TGTG erc...

Last night I threw a full, unopened box of fruity flapjacks, EIGHT unopened packs of red onions, three unopened packs of mixed leaf, two unopened packs of sliced tomatoes amongst other things... a couple nights before a full box of brownies... why do they send so much in?

It's like the protein milkshake things, they keep sending them in but we only sell one a day if that... we have a pile of them in the back in the corner almost to the ceiling, all going off within the next couple months... same with the ginger and turmeric shots, we throw more than we sell... I feel like this is the most wasteful company I have ever worked for.

Does anyone else wonder how they got so big when doing calorie counting?

I'm currently counting my calories to lose some weight, I've done it in the past with great success, went from 225 pounds down to 175 pounds, but over the last couple years the weight as crept back slowly so I'm doing it again, and today reminded me that when I'm counting calories, it feels like I struggle getting up to my number needed, making me wonder how the hell I gain so much weight...

Today for example, I've set my calories to 1800, and so far I've had a Greggs bacon roll with ketchup, a chicken salad sandwich, two boiled eggs, a Greggs Sausage Roll and two cups of coffee, both with milk and one sugar and I'm only at 1115 calories, meaning I have 800+ calories left to eat, and my 12,000 steps haven't even updated on my calorie tracker yet to add more calories for what I've burnt... I'm going to have a spag bol later that works out at like 450 calories, and then I'm done, I'll barely touch 1500 calories, but the thing is, I feel like this is how I eat most days anyway! In fact I added the sausage roll on today just to get my calories up a little, I usually wouldn't have one, just the Tesco meal deal...

I work at Greggs inside a Tesco, so most days are bacon roll in the morning, Tesco meal deal for lunch and then my meal when I get home later in the day... so not much different from today yet I'm struggling to get enough calories in for the day...

Do you agree with supermarkets allowing companies, such as energy companies etc INSIDE to bother customers?

Just something that's started in the last year or two at my local supermarkets... they've been outside in good weather for ages but more recently they are inside the supermarkets now, right as you're leaving just after the checkouts, blocking the way so you're forced to pass them and they never take no for an answer! They seem really cocky and arrogant too with snide remarks if you say no to them.

I can see this being an issue for people with anxiety, as even for me they put me on edge literally blocking your path out...

Thoughts?

Do you find the older you get the more horror games affect you?

I loved horror games growing up, I'd play them all... Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Alone in the Dark etc and id not have a care in the world, I'd go through them no issue... I was 7 when I first played RE on PS1 and from then and into my teenage years I obviously got jump scared etc but I'd sit and play for hours no problem...

Now I'm 35, and I've finally got time to start Resident Evil Requiem and I'm finding myself playing in 1 hour slots because I'm too anxious and scared and I need a break lol!

I've realised with every passing year since entering adulthood my tolerance for scary games gets lower and lower...

Is anyone the same?

Currently 4:21am... haven't slept yet, alarm goes off in 9 minutes for work...

I hate this! If I know I'm getting up stupidly early I just can't sleep at all! I got into bed at 7:30pm last night, and I actually felt tired, but my brain knowing I was getting up so early as just had me laying here with my eyes closed, but brain active since... Blehhhh...

Gonna be a tough day today... thank god I don't have to get up at this time every day... 6am, my usual time, even though only 1 hour 30 more, seems to allow my brain to switch off during the night and sleep.

Never wanted to quit a job so much on my life...

5 years in and I can't with this job anymore...

Understaffed, narcissist manager, rude customers, all work is given to a couple of capable staff while everyone else just has to serve and that's it...

I'm tired of doing the ovens, hot to go AND online deliveries every single shift while my manager and shift managers do FECK ALL! Oh you have to count a few things in 5 hours so you can't go on the ovens at lunch? Ever?

MAX three members of staff on at any time, one being the manager who just walks around doing nothing...

Ugh... I wish I had the balls or money to quit 😭

Never has a job drained the life out of me like this has... and I've worked at Aldi and McDonalds, both heaven compared to this.

Can I request a paper copy of my payslip?

My phone is full of stupid apps that are only there for work... You've got Teams that we used to use for rotas but my area manager now uses as a group chat for the shop, you've got UKG Pro now for rotas, you've got SAP Success Factors for payslips, the Authenticator app for when it logs you out of those apps...

I'm quite a minimalist in person and like to extend that into my digital life too...

Since we've moved to UKG Pro I'll be honest, I've never used it since setting it up, I just take pictures of the rota in the office....

Is there anyway to request a paper copy of my payslip each week too?

Does anyone know what the new shift manager pay is per hour for each band are?

Also, will a responsible persons wage match that of a shift manager in their shop or match the lowest band Greggs do when doing a responsible shift?

Thanks!

A meal deal will now be £4.25, up from £4.

Same with the meal deal with a side, up to £5.25 from £5.

Load of other increases of around 10p across other products.

One decrease though is the 4 for 3 Sausage Roll deal, which is going back down to £3.95.
