My longform videos do not get the most reach but my shorts do okay. Any advice would be great.

When I was first starting to explore music production, I found a bunch of great resources but I never found one that just explained things very simply with visual resources. So I made one. Well, I’m making a series of them, but I started with What is Compression, because that was the one that threw me for the biggest loop starting out. I’ll post the link here if you’re interested. I had a quick question. I’m using Cubase Artist 14. Randomly, my drum editor will just hit every piece of the kit every time I hit play/record. It’s just that one thing hit I can’t figure it out. Anyone have any ideas?
It’s like one big noise and then it plays normal.
I’ve been experimenting with different amp sims using the exact same DI, guitar, and settings to see how much the amp itself changes the tone.
I put together a comparison using the same riff through nine different amp sims. It was interesting to hear which ones stayed tight, which had more low-end, and which sat best in a mix.
I was surprised by how different some of them sounded, even with similar settings.
I’d love to know:
Which amp sim do you think sounds best?
Are there any underrated sims I should include in a future comparison?
