Do you work Remote/Hybrid?

Remote or hybrid worker in Waterford?

One thing I hear a lot from people working remotely is that while the flexibility is great, it can be hard to meet people locally.

A few of us get together on the last Friday of every month for a casual drink in Waterford. No networking event, no presentations, no sales pitches – just a chance to chat with other people who understand what it's like to spend your days on Zoom calls, working from home, or in a local coworking space.

Whether you've been remote for years, recently switched to a hybrid role, or have just moved to the area, you're welcome to join.

📍 The Reg, Waterford
🕖 7pm, last Friday of every month
💰 Free to attend

Pop in for one drink or stay for the evening - first one is on us plus some nibbles.

Any Remote/Hybrid Workers in Kerry Interested in Building a Local Community?

I'm looking to connect with remote and hybrid workers across Kerry who might be interested in helping build local communities for people who work remotely.

Over the last few years, Grow Remote volunteers have been bringing people together through coffee mornings, after-work drinks, walks, coworking days and social events across Ireland. Hundreds of local events are run every year by volunteers who simply want to make their communities a little more connected.

The challenge is simple: remote work offers incredible flexibility, but it can also be isolating. That's where local communities make a difference.

We're looking for a few people in Kerry who would like to help organise occasional meetups in places like Tralee, Killarney,, Kenmare, Listowel, Killorglin or anywhere else there's interest. We already have a large community in Dingle and Tralee!

You don't need experience organising events.

Sometimes being a volunteer simply means:
• Organising a coffee meetup once a month
• Booking a table in a local pub
• Welcoming new people into a WhatsApp group
• Helping others make local connections

Grow Remote provides support, resources and funding for local events, and you'll be joining a network of volunteers across Ireland who are doing the same thing.

If you're a remote worker who enjoys meeting people and would like to help create something positive in Kerry, leave a comment or send me a message.

I'd be happy to answer any questions about what's involved.

Any remote workers in Mayo interested in building a local community?

I’m looking to connect with remote workers in Mayo who might be interested in helping grow a local community for people working remotely or hybrid 👋

Over the last while, we’ve seen how valuable it can be for remote workers to have local social events, meetups, coffee mornings, walks, after-work pints, coworking days, etc., especially in places outside the bigger cities.

The idea isn’t formal networking or anything corporate. It’s more about creating fun, relaxed opportunities for people to meet others in the area who also work remotely.

You don’t need experience organising events either, sometimes the best events are simply:

  • grabbing coffee
  • organising a walk
  • booking a table somewhere local
  • trying a new activity
  • creating a WhatsApp group for locals

If you’re based in Mayo and think this sounds like something you’d enjoy being part of, send me a message or reply below 🙂

or register for our welcome session here: https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/1978392259505?aff=oddtdtcreator

Would love to get something going locally.

I would like to organise a Book Club with a twist - where is good in Cork for a cosy reading setup?

Finding time for reading can be hard, but what if there was a group you attended that gave you space to read. I'd like to organise a book club where people come together and read their own books, share what they are reading, recommendations and enjoy some yummy coffee, tea and pastries on me!

I need venue recommendations - where would be good to go that has a cute reading nook? perhaps when the weather is good we can go outside to the park, but right now I am looking for a space.
