I really love a 3-Bank and realized I had amassed a modest collection, so I decided to share. What 3-Banks does everyone else have?

The backspace doesn't work, I noticed the spring is detached, but can't figure out where it goes. My one thought is on this hook thing that I point to in the start of the video. Any suggestions or pictures of an attached backspace spring would be greatly appreciated.

I replaced the drawband and wound up the gear on the drum and it doesn't seem to do anything. The drum is holding tension, as I wind it, it does get harder, so I can tell it's turning inside, however it doesn't make a difference, meaning the carriage doesn't move at all. When I've done this in the past, the more I wind, the more the carriage moves, so I can tell it's working, I just need to wind it more, but with this one, it doesn't seem to move at all. If I wind it too much, it seems to come undone, so not sure how to figure out how much to wind. It only works when I pull the carriage and press the spacebar or keys. I've replaced a few drawbands, so I know when I'm doing, but am really stumped.

My nephew’s cube, he took all the middle pieces off and I wanted to see if I could still solve it. It took much longer, but was actually able to figure it out!

I was clicking around Baseball Reference, as I am want to do, and found this guy and my dyslexia read it as Tucker Carlson.

This immediately popped into my head after last nights game. Reminiscent of their last playoff game as well. I’ve always wanted to make this meme and unlike the Orioles last night, took advantage of the opportunity.

1946 Remington Noiseless Model 7. The ribbon cap is bent, looks like it got melted and smooshed. How can I form it back to (close) to its original shape. My wife suggested boiling it to make it more malleable. Anyone have suggestions?

1948 Smith Corona Sterling. It’s got spots like this on both sides. I can’t tell if the case is plastic or metal, so not sure how to approach it. Also, just always had trouble getting rid of these kind of spots and water marks. What do you use?

I know it’s unique in that it doesn’t take universal spools, but is the ribbon standard? Like if I can find a universal ribbon, can I just take it off the spool and install it on this one?

The upper case only hits the paper when the key is hit really hard, touch controls is set to 0. Escapement seems to be functioning as the carriage moves with (almost) each key stroke.

I need some kind soul to tell me where this goes? I know the part circled in red engages with the platen ratchet, but I don't know how. Also, the spring attaches to something in the back. There is a little rod that is preventing the dog from moving up. I am really struggling to figure out how all of these pieces find their place. Unfortunately, it fell off before I had a chance to take a picture, so I am really flying blind here. Happy to provide more pictures.

I had an issue with the upper and lower case letters not being on the same space and couldn’t find any info on how to fix it, I eventually figured it out, so wanted to post how it did it so that future generations don’t have to suffer. It was quite simple actually.

I’ve fixed alignment issues where the carriage shifts, but not where the type basket does. I found a nut and screw on the bottom left that needed to be adjusted. I couldn’t get a wrench flush on, so I used a 7/32 and 13/64 one to kinda swat at it until it turned a little bit, then I was able to turn it with my fingers. Then it was a matter of trial and error, rotating the screw left and right until the alignment was good (or good enough), then I tightened everything back it and viola.

I restore old typewriters as a hobby. I have a small workspace, a desk in our guestroom (see picture for reference). So space is at a premium. As such I normally stick to portables and smaller. I happened across a Royal KHM for $30. Is it too much machine? Too big? Too wide? Too difficult to access all the areas underneath that might need fixing/tweaking? For context, I had an Underwood 5 that was wayyyyy too big. I know people in this sub are very pro "get it!", but I really want to make a measure decision, rather than an impulsive one. Thanks.

My son has outgrown this and I don’t know any other Orioles fans with babies, but I don’t have it in me to throw it out. It’s in good condition and has been cleaned. DM me if interested.

My 6 year old got a Venus Fly Trap from Trader Joe's, he named him Chompy Chomp, I don't know anything about it beyond that and it's got some black spots and we want to know if/how we should remove it. I've read somewhere that how you remove it can impact the rest of the plant.

Please note I do not have a green thumb at all, this is my first time posting in this sub and in my reddit experience, some of these hyper-specific subs can be very kind when asking for advice and some can be very gatekeeping and cruel, I'm not sure which one this is, so please be kind and keep in mind I am just trying to learn and when you respond, imagine you are talking to a 6 year old.
