Lack of feeling nurtured by my dx medicated partner

I nurture my dx medicated partner a lot by letting her come into my arms, etc when she needs it. But it's rarely reciprocated. And it's very hard because I would love to be nurtured by her, too. Do you have similar experiences? I have spoken with her about it several times, and still nothing has been received

Standard Fill or LoveSoft for LoveSac couch?

Looking to purchase a lovesac couch with a deep seat configuration. We went to the store, tried them, and loved the LoveSoft over firm. The firm one was pretty firm. Concern is that LoveSoft will become too soft over time. I mean, I wouldn't want to buy firm one because my ass was like, "wow, that's firm and uncomfortable". Will the firm ones soften over time and become comfortable? Or LoveSoft will be fine? We can't come to a decision lol because it's expensive—and we want to make sure.

My Girlfriend 29F Wants Me 32M to Be Civil to Her Family, and I Don't

Need your advice. My girlfriend of three years and I have been arguing a lot, and I'm really drained. She's a family-oriented person, and I am not.

For context, I have depression and PTSD. Long story short, last year when I moved in with her parents, it was the worst three months I've experienced. I got to see what her family is like and what her mother is like, and she overstepped my boundaries several times, to the point where I can't stand her at all or her family members. They also have drama that I don't need in my life.

I moved out immediately. My girlfriend and I have been working things out. I didn't want to interact with her family members at all and would like to separate my life from them, but she's not having it. She wants me to be civil with them. I told her that I would like to get there, but I can't promise her. She wants to know now. I truthfully told her that my desire is not to interact with her family at all. For me to do that, I would resent her. She asked me to just be civil. I told her I would like to, but I just can't, really.

She has ADHD, so her needs and desires may be more sensitive or important for her to have met, which I try to keep in mind.

She asked me, "What about if my mother comes and visits for lunch or picks up the dogs, etc.?" I told her that I can't have her come, given that we would be living in a small apartment and it's the only space I've got for myself while living in a city where she is originally from, was raised, and is close to her family members. I have nothing here. I'm a true homebody and want no interaction with her family.

She said it's not normal at all and that I need to work on myself. I told her it's what I can offer, really. She's basically not having it. She said, "What about future kids and all that?" I told her, "Well, you can do whatever you want with your family members. I would be fine. You can bring our future kids to them or anything; I would be fine." I encouraged her to stay close with her family and all that. I just want to separate myself from them.

She still won't have it. This is a common issue in our relationship. I'm tired. I feel like I'm not being respected by her. What do you suggest?

Drifting away from family Dad 62M & Mom 72F and Brother 30M is this normal?

32M here.

Been feeling like this and wanted to ask if this is normal… please be kind. I feel confused and guilty, and need a sanity check on whether what I'm feeling is ok, understandable, or normal.

I met the love of my life, fell in love with her, and really felt that she understood me better than my family ever had. For context, I struggle with bipolar disorder type 2 (depression), diagnosed at age 11.

I’ve been on medications all my life.. I’m financially well. I owned a successful company. house paid for… I worked really hard. Bipolar type 2, I’m mostly down daily if you know what I mean.. I was never crazy or anything like that.

I’ve been drifting apart from my parents 62M/ 72F and brother 30M, typically stereotyped/targeted as the “problem” in everything all my life since childhood, just because I have bipolar disorder. Some days, when I feel down, I feel like I’m not allowed to have a bad day with my family. I’m not allowed to be grumpy or anything like that. My family will immediately say something like, " You need to adjust your medication… or they will look at the clock immediately, asking me if I took my meds. it’s an everyday thing…

I’ve always been the black sheep of the family. I'm smart and have common sense. I’m the type of person who will speak out or be vocal on things that I disagree with. My family and I have a long history of disagreements and butting heads at home. My brother has always sided with my parents… he was never willing to hear me out. My dad and I got into a physical fight a few times since childhood… a few years ago, we got into one for letting my mom “shorten” her life or “kill” herself, by not taking care of her diabetes. She was supposed to check her blood sugar daily, eat a strict diet, and everything. She hasn’t really done that and has given up… she’s always pissy/moody in the house. She’s the type of mother that you love, but can’t stand her at all when she’s just pissy and bitchy for no reason. She’s tough love on me growing up, too… my parents will ground me all the time. They have disciplined me well, but they went too far million times… my dad had lifted me and slammed me against the wall when I was a kid, and slapped my face if I was not cooperative or doing something wrong that they thought… again, I've always been vocal. I was never afraid to share what I think. They never liked it. Many, many other things, like my parents are friends with other parents (father) who once sat on the bed next to my very first girlfriend (18 at the time), and the father was almost 50 at the time and said I like blonde women (she was 18 and blonde). I told that to my father, he made an excuse for him. I felt betrayed. Some other guy had made an open letter online about me… my dad is still friends with him on Facebook to this day… when I wanted to come home at the last minute… my parents would say, "Well, we have friends over here. I told you that long time ago..” I’m like, well, I’m your son, I want to be home… You can cancel your friend's stay — they’re locals, though, and they can find another place or whatever… I mean, that’s what I would do if I were a father to my kids… my kids will always come first, ya know… but they will basically say no.. I had to get a hotel… just feeling betrayed.. so many stories in my life time with them… don’t get me wrong about the physical fight, it wasn’t a fist fight when older… it was more of pushing, tackling and falling and pulling shirts stuff.. my father is always stubborn letting mom do whatever she wants my whole life that isn’t good for her… my dad is ten years younger than my mother.. Mom is 72. well I can see why… mom never worked… dad is depressed that he’s behind on retirement… just many stuff throughout my life… my brother disowned me… he was never willing to hear my side of the story. My brother was away from home for a long time, like 13 years, for education from high school to doctoral and all that. I was the only one living with my parents… so many stories… as for physical, I'm not proud of it, always… the vibe and mood are always intense from them in the house. It's a depressing environment. Whenever my parents asked me to visit, I would tell them that I'm uncomfortable because it’s a depressing environment and that dad would mope around and mom will be pissy. Dad countered quickly and said “what about yourself?”. I’m like what, seriously? Hurts me.

As for my bipolar condition, I remember when I was in my 20s, I bought a book called Loving Someone with bipolar and handed it to my parents for them to understand me better. They never read it… they said, “I already know you.” My girlfriend bought the book herself to learn more about my condition without my knowledge.

But the bottom line I was asking… is it normal for someone who’s going through like this with their parents and has found love and is drifting away from family? I find myself just not wanting to talk with them… I feel happier and more peaceful… I always feel disappointed by my family whenever I engage with them. So I just give up on chatting with them anymore… but can’t help but feel guilty, confused, and wrong. I still call them on FaceTime from time to time, but I don’t feel it. But I still do it for them… they seem thrilled to see me when I call them… but on my end, I just feel sad and never feel understood by my family, no matter how much I try, and I know it will never happen. The fact that they're elderly now — I try to move forward and forgive all the past, but my feelings are still stubbornly lingering and grieving. I just want a sanity check with you all.

Thank you for reading/hearing me out. 🙏

BMW i4: Sour smell from AC when starting car in humid Florida weather?

Hi guys,

I’ve been leasing a 2025 i4 in Florida. Lately, whenever I start the AC after getting into the car, I notice a sour smell coming from the vents. It usually goes away after a little while, but it’s really bothering me and I want to get rid of it.

I live in Florida, so the humidity is pretty high, and my car is parked in a garage that’s partially open to the outside. I’m thinking maybe the cabin air filter or something in the AC system got damp and started causing the smell whenever I turn the AC on.

I’m not a car expert, so I wanted to ask if anyone here might know what’s causing it. That way, I can ask the maintenance center to replace or fix whatever’s needed to remove the smell.

Many thanks in advance, beemer friends. 🙏

What is this called?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask. Pardon the stupid question, but I need to know what this is called so I can buy a new one. Water from the shower has been leaking; the other side of the shower door had none. Thanks friends
