Your friend is a tree shifter, able to turn into a tree at will. Sometimes this tree produces fruit. They do not do this too often, as whenever their branches are broken they feel the pain. One day your friend invites you on a walk. On this walk you lose track of your friend and the park is full of trees.

While looking for him, you fall into a deep hole and find your friend inside. You discover the hole was part of an old mine, with all the supplies inside but abandoned from a cave in.

You both try to call out but realize you’re too far down. You attempt your phones to no avail. You survive at the mercy of your friend’s fruit bearing abilities, but begin to crave other food deeply.

Your friend tries turning into a tree large enough for you to climb, but you discover the lowest branch is relative to the size of the tree appearing, always 40% up the tree.

What would you do?

I have been composing for almost a year now and it can’t quite grasp the time signatures. I even have purchased a full score of rite of spring and don’t have too much trouble transposing the time signature shifts but I also don’t feel like I’m truly learning why he chose them at times.

Sometimes it feels like the time signature shifts (for rite of spring) operate on a sort of pattern outside of the music being contained. So then I thought, “well I’ll go and set all my time signatures in a piece then just fill it with notation”.

I haven’t gotten too far but what I did complete didn’t sound too bad to my ears. I’m curious if this is a viable approach or if it may be seen as cheating me of knowledge in the time signature department?

Otherwise I have a really hard time distinguishing time signatures in music, if it isn’t 4/4 or 5/4 (which I only recognize from certain key beats in that signature) then I’m at a loss.

Pulled up to 7 Brew ready to get a free coffee with my 1,300 points just to be told we don’t have one. I asked, “well how many points is a free coffee?” The salesperson said,”1,000” so then I asked, “how many points do we have” and they said, ”1,300”.

So then I asked, ”is that not a free coffee?” And they said, “I don’t see it (the option to click free coffee)”.

Absolutely brain drain of an interaction that lead with me being unable to use my points. Why is this? To incentivize their ‘merch’? Not meaning to be a negative nelly but I wish they would train their people on new apps before trying to gaslight their customers.

Hello fellow writers and readers! This is a script I wrote in college about 10 years ago for assignment, but liked the idea enough to stretch from 8 pages to 16.

I am terrified of idea theft and have never shared my writing before, but everyone on Reddit has emboldened me! I am not scared of idea theft because I think my ideas or novel, more so for the same reason I don’t leave items in public spaces!

I have not read a lot of scripts but fell in love with the screenwriters bible. I find it hard to read scripts as I can’t see them like I see my own!

The Lift

Hello fellow patrons of the audio-visual arts!

I wrote this for a short film in which a zombified girl was chasing her sister down on a bicycle. The short was shelved indefinitely and I think about this track often.

I figured I’d share and see what anyone thought if they took the time to listen! I was going for a childish kind of theme or like a playroom.

Does it feel intense or is it too repetitive?

Does this score feel too ‘happy’ for horror, and is the writing too sparse for the score to punch above its weight?

As the title suggests, this was my attempt at a score for a video game I was working on developing. While I have recently turned all my focus into a short film project, I was not very happy with the score to begin with.

The game was essentially about urban explorers findings this man living in an abandoned mall that turned out to be a demon that turns skeletons into mannequins to populate the mall and ‘shop’ with them.

The first section was meant to be a main menu/end credits theme, the middle section was meant to be a chase theme, and the final section was meant to be atmospheric exploration music for the hub.

Since the project is on an indefinite hold, I figured I’d share the music as an opportunity to ‘revamp’ it later!

I also apologize for using the Drive method, I do not have a YouTube and am honestly not sure how so many people record their score as they do as I use Dorico instead of MuseScore.

I am animating a stop motion project, and I was just curious what it would look like if I shared the load?

I’m animating to a time-synced animatic and storyboards with a lot of the shots in-between storyboards being left to me to figure out while filming based on textual descriptions, within the shot list.

I have scenes that will require the stop motion characters be animated against a green screen and composited into live action shots, and thought a different animator could tackle these with stunt doubles while I focus elsewhere. Likely a total of 3-4 minutes of green screen shots.

Would it be worth the hassle to hire others through a legal contract to assist in moving the characters or would it be negligible if I could only budget 80 hours for 4 minutes? Does anyone have a an idea of what I could expect with 8 hour days animating a single character? Would it still likely equate to 3-5 seconds of footage a day even despite being animated in isolation?

I apologize for the rapid questions, I have only animated Brickfilms (very poorly compared to the expectation for this project) and am attempting to punch above my weight class with this project.

This is to post wave predictions for the waves 4-6, just to see if we are right in retrospect! Don’t mistake this as rushing the process; I am very excited for waves 1-3 and will happily wait a year or 2 to collect them all. That being typed, I believe there is a slight pattern to Jada’s release and would like to have it in writing for the future!

Wave 1 is Blue suit Mark, kid Omniman, and Conquest. Two heroes and a villain, all based on a single season (3).

Wave 2 is Atom Eve, Omniman (classic), and Battle Beast. A hero and 2 villains (of season one), all with sculpts that are from the first season.

Wave 3 is Yellow suit Mark, beefy Allen, and Thragg, which all fit within the season 4 theme. 2 heroes and a villain. This works out well as it gives a natural way to introduce the original Mark suit while thematically blending in with season 4.

Assuming they follow some elements of this pattern, and judging from what I see most requested on the subreddit, here is my prediction for the future:

WAVE 4——— Season 2

(A): Rex Splode — My thinking is he is a fan favorite but relatively short lived in the macro story of the series, so I’d imagine they get him out sooner than later. This season is also significant for his character change after the Lizard League battle.

(B): Angstrom Levy — My thinking here is so far they have touched on brute force villains and Angstrom would offer a nice change of pace, especially with his accessories. I would expect to get at least 2 versions of him to match the narrative, but have no clue how they may achieve it. Possibly interchangeable heads for the first appearance and portal effects for a 2nd variant in his cyborg armor?

(C): Mauler Twin / Komodo Dragon — This is a tough one and I am kind of cheating, but both make sense to me. Mauler twin would be great, especially for sales, but I’m not sure if Jada would design him to be bought twice with alternate heads and a new variant down the road like the burnt clone or opt for a two pack exclusive. If they choose the two pack option, I would say Komodo. My thinking is he is a relatively blank, brute character that could possibly reuse aspects of Battle Beast or Allen, and provide a direct conflict in the wave of Rexplode vs Komodo. If I had to pick a final answer I would say a Mauler Twin as he is most requested.

Wave 5 ——— Season 5
I’m assuming Wave 3 matched season 4 to capitalize on the season 4 hype as much as possible, and if the release schedule is similar to street fighter www would likely see wave 3 in late (being generous) 2027 or early 2028. I would think they would mix old seasons and new to slowly trickle out characters from the past while keeping/catching up to the show as much as possible.

(A): Robot — This would be a long time coming, and if season 5 follows the comics as well as they have been then it would make sense to get a Robot in his original suit, maybe with an alternate Rex clone head. Either way this would allow them to get an original design out while still keeping up with the current (2028) hype.

(B): Bulletproof (Alternate Suit?) — I will admit I like this character but don’t see him as an A-lister and often forget about him. That being said he is a guardian and I know he likely has some more screen time than usual. Just like Blue suit Mark being introduced before, I could see him being introduced in his alternate suit that way worse case if he isn’t popular, they can say they got him out there. If he is popular then they have a reason to reskin him down the line.

(C): Anissa — While I feel Dinosaurus would also be a great pick, my fear is we are getting too sausage heavy in the roster. I did a little digging and while a new Atom Eve variant would be great, it would be a character repeat that likely requires a new sculpt while Anissa could reuse Atom Eve’s body for the most part and fill out the villain portion of the wave. She doesn’t have much to do at this point in the comics, but does have an arc that separates her from the others and has already proven popular. I could see the show strengthening her arc for fans, and she does appear a few times in her Viltrumite uniform so it would let fans collect a figure that could fit earlier seasons while still belonging to the newest.

Wave 6 —— Season 1
This wave release would likely be late 2028 or early 2029, serving as a bridge between seasons 5 and 6. I would think Jada takes this time to touch up on missing characters from the early roster, which is hard to guess considering I made up the last 2 waves. This wave does not follow the rotating 2Hero1Villain, 1Hero2Villain but I think that is less important than the thematic wave released they seem to be going by.

(A): Cecil — He has been requested quite a bit and would be a great sell due to his suit alone, as Jada doesn’t have a lot of figures that can be vaguely kitbashed for civilians like marvel legends.

(B): The Immortal — Another important pick I would think, would let fans begin to put together their own ‘ominiman vs the guardians’ scene and work well with other made-up figures that have released such as the Mauler Twins or Komodo.

(C): The Flaxan Commander — This is definitely a shot in the dark and a result of my unwavering to the thematic releases I decided, but outside of being nameless he is significant in the first season and his world proves important later on.

Considering that Amazon is involved and Jada recently released an exclusive (not con exclusive) 2 pack for street fighter I would expect to see Amazon exclusive 2 packs for this brand, especially for army builders or battle damaged variants different from con exclusives that allow Jada to cover more ground a little safer than using up a mainline spot. Also while I am not a huge fan of Dinosaurus, I know his design and fans would love to see him earlier than a wave 7, and I believe his body could be used for a future Rognarr figure if they ever considered it.

Overall I’m very excited to see where the line goes and will happily throw my money at them if it means they keep the license instead of others, where the price of the figures is just too much for too little in my opinion. Granted I look at things through the lens of stopmotion and durability not solely collecting so I am biased. I also am only doing mainline waves, I’m sure we could get a few characters introduced as ‘deluxe’ sets outside of the typical wave releases (I just pray they are not con exclusive).

Attached is my attempt to create a symphonic poem that feels like a Disney Silly Symphony minus the visuals. I thought I would come back to it but I will instead take the ideas and tidy them up elsewhere as I forgot quite a bit of articulations initially.

The piece is **8:00** and I have listened to it so much that I’ve no clue how it objectively sounds to others. If you find the time to listen thank you, and if you’re able to give feedback;

Does it feel intentional or coherent? Does it feel like random ideas one after the other? If you read the score and see any glaring issue I would love constructive criticism in that regard. I would like the piece to be idiomatic but I’m writing by ear and intuition.

Hello music lovers! The title is melodramatic but attached is the first score I completed, but mind you by ‘complete’ I mean it served its function of introducing me to music notation! The score is not engraved or formatted for an easy read, but to those who feel so inclined I would love any feedback. The feedback will not be incorporated into this specific piece but will be used as an analytical learning tool.

To be blunt I do not know music theory and am just now beginning to understand chord progressions and how to control my music. This was supposed to be a homage to The Thing soundtrack but it very quickly took a different path. I did use a synthesizer for the beginning to achieve that signature sound but I will not utilize it again moving forward.
