Tenere 700 vs 450MT. Opinions from owners?

I currently own a crf250l and a bmw f650gs, these bikes are basically polar opposites in the adv world and I'd like to replace them with 1 bike that cruise/tour comfortably, and hoon offroad. I'm currently looking at either a used tenere, or new/used 450mt. My current stance is that the tenere is the bigger, more powerful bike with a better reputation, but the cfmoto might be all I realistically need/want. What's everyone think?

Do aftermarket performance leads on buells cause interference with the ecm?

Very much BUELL SPECIFIC question mods. I replaced the spark leads on my buell xb12 with tons performance high performance leads (copper core I'm assuming) and after it warms up it runs poorly, surges and dies. (warming up is fine) I've read that this is becuase these aftermarket leads emmit lots of interference and it will mess with the ecu. I also cant get ecm spy to stay live logging when the bike is running, but when it's off there are zero issues. as soon as i start the bike its starts cutting out, then ecmspy gives up and says connection timed out. Anyone else had a similar experience?

First week of tig welding:

Decided I would learn to tig and started practicing. I think I have Ali down pretty good for just starting out, could probably use with being a bit hotter for the 3mm I was welding to get full penetration? But stainless I just can't get right. Maybe I'm expecting too much like a nice fancy exhaust weld, but it just doesn't look very good. Any tips? I'm welding the stainless at 45a, it's 1.2mm thick, I'd say my wire is about 0.7mm and I also tried 1mm wire. Going to try a whole bunch of stuff now to see what happens.

Well, it does get better.

About 3 years ago, I smoked a ton of pot, like I usually would when someone offered it to me at a party. And then got dpdr or whatever you want to call it. I swore to never smoke again, and it passed in 5 days, I was terrified over these few days like I had never been before. But, about a month later I smoked a little bit again, nothing happened. Ok cool! Then all of a sudden one day a few weeks afterward it just hit me randomly. I got terrified again, all of the anxiety stuff yada yada. It was all that was on my mind, I was in a constant state of it, months passed, I was still scared, having extistencial thoughts and other horrible things. I thought I had ruined my life at the ripe old age of 15. I tried telling myself I didn't care, or that it would go away but it didn't (it did lol). On the second year, it wasn't as bad, but still it was there all the time, I fell into a depression, I didn't want to do the things I used to do becuase I might 'feel it'. Fuck what an idiot I was. I relied on drinking heavily at parties and isolating myself in my thoughts. This, was a terrible idea. The alchohol did nothing but trap me from what I was trying to run from, not let me be free of it. All the while I was still attending school, coping and holding it together, no one knew what I was going through becuase I never told anyone. Now on the third year... This year. I had left school, gotten into a job I liked, started a mechanical engineering course to kickstart my future, got stuck into my project motorbikes, went out, had fun, and started to notice. Wait, this shit is getting better! The main thing was I took the time to understand the 'disorder' which I find funny becuase it sounds scary but it's just a bodily response to fear, which in tern, caused more fear. Ironic isn't it? Whenever I started to 'feel it' I'd just sit there, and kinda enjoy the feeling, it's like I was high or slightly tipsy in a way. I appreciated the mental numbness for a while and went on with my day. It no longer scared me, but by this point, my body was so used to it, it has become a habit. Habits take TIME to break. and consistency. This was the turning point, all the stuff beforehand that I had worried about, seemed so silly. I could now happily get drunk and have a good time, and not get dragged down to the depths of my concience. soon enough, it had completely gone. there are moments, but these moments happened anyway, even before I had understood it or 'gotten it'. It's a part of life, and knowledge of it can trap you in it, but WILL also free you.

I gotta be honest, if i could go back to the day I smoked that pot. I would still do it. dpdr completely transformed me as a person for the better. I can now take the time to fully unserstand things, it got me to really think about what I want from this life, and to think about the bigger picture. although it was hard and scary, life coming out of it is even BETTER than before I had it. what a crazy thing to say huh. I also left out a ton of detail in my time experiencing dpdr, but to summarise, yes I thought of that, yes I felt that way, yes i thought there was no way out. I really wish I had just had myself from now to talk me through it back then. so now I am at peace in life, 18 years of age, life has a new meaning, a new value, and I woudn't want to change a thing.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

Laptop vs 200 ton guillotine...

Motherboard decided it would no longer accept ram, now it's no longer with us. Surprisingly clean cut...

Happy to be apart of the not-gas-station-knife community.

Was always sick of not having a blade handy. Picked up a QSP Canary with a Glyde lock to solve that. Does what I need it to do and is a great size for pocketing.

Steering head bearings?

Noticed my steering head bearings were clunking, took it all apart and found that the cap wasn't even torqued to spec. After torquing, it's horrible. Am I missing parts or do I just need new bearings? At the moment it's just the bearings in the tube riding directly on the top and bottom triple clamp with the cap torque down. Just as I found it. Have new bearings but thought I'd ask before I stalling as this seems absurdly tight.

Zg1000 concours knocking?

Went to look at this 1994 concours and he said he started it up one day and it started making this noise. I belive it may have hydrolocked and bent a rod. Still seems to run fine though. Gets louder with revs really quick.

XB12S bars: What's everyone running?

Looking to get a set of bars for my xb12s. Currently I'm looking at the renthal ultra lows as I have them on another bike and they're quite nice. I'd be interested to see what everyone's running and if there's a common suggestion. Photos would also be much appreciated. Cheers everyone.
