Credit where it's due - the Meka event is one of their better-designed ones in terms of pacing and rewards

Blizzard definitely took feedback onboard from other past recent events.

I find the Meka event (including the prestige track) very comfortably completable in the 3-ish weeks we are given. And it's not like we need to grind out every challenge every day in order to complete it.

There isn't any: "oops, you missed a few days, or you missed one challenge, now you can't complete everything" like with some previous events.

It's pretty refreshing to not feel stressed about 'bricking' myself in terms of progress on the event tracks.

DoW1 remaster - co-op modes?

Besides skirmishing vs the AI with a friend, I was just wondering: are there any other co-op modes in the DoW1 remaster?

I'm also open to additional co-op options through mods. I'm not sure how easy it is to install mods in this game (it's really easy in Age of Mythology; you search for and install mods within the game itself), but are the mods in the DoW1 remaster similarly easy to install, and are there co-op modes through mods that come highly-recommended by the community?

Thanks!

Goumang's 'Vibrant Land' technology

Is the automatic tree-generation mainly just for fun, and isn't super impactful mechanically?

Currently, I treat this as an additional lumber harvesting upgrade and have it quite low on my upgrade priority list; I always tend to forget about about how it causes houses to spawn trees and that houses function as lumber dropsites.

What are situations in which those other aspects of this technology have come in useful / how do you take advantage of it?

Couple questions about Fortunate/Forbidden Finds sales

So, I saw a 'Forbidden Finds' sale a few days ago. I'm normally not one to buy from the shop, but at -80% off, that's actually a big enough discount that I don't feel terrible picking something up.

I can't seem to find consistent information on the nature of these sales, or when they occur. So I guess my questions are:

  1. I know that WHAT is on sale is different for each player; but is the date when a Fortunate/Forbidden Finds sales occur unique to each player too? For example, I might be given a Fortunate Finds today, but another D4 player doesn't have a sale on the same day?

  2. Even if the sale contents are different, if they at least occur on the same day, then is there an online tracker where I can be notified of a sale? (I haven't been able to find one, which is why I'm not even sure we get sales on the same days as each other)

[Spoilers] Not sure how to progress; am I missing stuff, or do I have to do a task I don't want to do?

I'm going to have spoilers up to a certain point, but I would like no spoilers beyond that point please :)

Okay, so I just had the scene where Hauzman and I go to Photo 24 and listen to that recording. I also currently have Holocene, Karolina, and Ramses.

Some key tasks still unresolved are:

  • I only have 4/6 Wolf Cups (Dream, Placid, Eager, and Stubborn). I have no idea how to progress this. Apparently there's something with the pilots and a quest with the Duchess? But when I bring up the Miracle Line with them, the only dialogue option I have is: "That's enough about the duchess (back)". I have no idea how to start this supposed quest involving the Duchess (I did find where she lives though).

  • I have not completed 'Make a Deal with Transnational Capital'. Currently, my only method of progressing that is to threaten to hurt Eszti's husband. I do not want to do that. Is this task mandatory?

  • With Assembling a New Sick Crew, I have 'Find a Cupbearer', and it says I have to free Yana up, but I've already exhausted all my dialogue with her and Violetta. I have no idea how to progress this path.

  • I've not progressed "Make an Impression on Pseudopod". This seems very fucked up to me; but at the same time, Holocene will not work with any old Crew members. Do I HAVE to do this task?

I just am struggling to find things to do, or characters with new dialogue. Yet it also feels 'wrong' to go with some of the choices here. Like, this game gives me a lot of options as to how I want to roleplay Hershel; I don't think it would make it mandatory for me to threaten Eszti's husband to progress. That's why I feel like for these things I'm stuck on, I'm missing something. If there's other paths to progress, then please let me know! Thanks!

Do the flesh-and-blood Kin know that the Ironkin are only mimicking emotion?

Even though the codex explicitly states that Ironkin are only mimicking emotions in order to fulfil their design to aid Kin society; I'm not sure if it's specified anywhere whether or not the flesh-and-blood Kin are aware of this.

Like, do the Ironkin just pass as a having real emotions to the point where the flesh-and-blood Kin can't tell? Or do the flesh-and-blood Kin know that the Ironkin are only acting convincingly like they have feelings, but are granted equal status anyway because they're still valued and appreciated?

I haven't read the novel, but maybe that sheds some light, if someone is familiar?

Question about Leagues of Votann playstyle

Hi, so I don't actually play Leagues of Votann, but wanted to ask a question about how they play because I'm kind of getting into their lore and find myself quite interested in them. (They're a lot cooler than I thought at first glance)

From what I gathered in other threads, people say the faction is designed specifically as a mechanised-infantry playstyle; with the use of transports being key to their gameplan, since they're slow on foot.

I'll admit that I'm not the biggest fan of the aesthetic of their vehicles, so my question is: are lists that are more reliant on footslogging still viable? Or is that sabotaging yourself?

EDIT: Okay yeah, everyone seems to be saying that the faction needs its transports ;P. Even though I was hoping to hear otherwise, thanks for the confirmation, everyone! It's not necessarily a dealbreaker though, but it's good for me to temper my expectations ;P

How come I can't increase my Nerve here, despite adding the Cold Storage Condition to increase my Nerve potential by +1?

u/Augustby — 1 month ago

[No Spoilers please] Question about Nerve and Anxiety

No spoilers please; I'm playing for the first time and Nerve is one of my high skills, but even when I succeed on passive Nerve checks, my Anxiety gets raised. It's happened for several of these passive Nerve checks.

I thought the point of Nerve was to NOT get rattled by things I encounter? I was just wondering if this is working as intended, or if it's a bug?

Thanks!

People really wanted Skitarii - they've had the strongest launch of any of the new classes, over 10k+ more concurrent players compared to the runner-up Arbites

How good is Persephone’s ‘Pious Sacrifice’ tech?

I haven’t played a ton of Demeter, but I have a hard time telling how effective this tech is when I do pick it up.

I see on aomstats.io that Persephone has both a low pick and win rate, but I’m not sure how much of that is necessarily an indicator that this specific tech is weak.

So I’m curious to hear about other players thoughts on it.

How come in Mystery Heroes, it's like opposite of quickplay, and DPS have the shortest queues?

I don't normally play Mystery Heroes, but am doing so for the Event Challenges. I'm surprised that for me at least, DPS has consistently been the shortest queues. Is that true for most other players too? And what is it about this mode that makes people want to play Tank much more compared to regular Quickplay?
