Doctor won’t order me free trial contacts because they don’t think they’d be a good fit for the curvature of my eye. Legit?

I did try the contacts that the doctor suggested (Precision 7 Toric). To their credit, the contacts fit well and feel comfortable. I was still interested in trying Acuvue 1-Day Contacts and asked them if they could order them.

The practice told me that they don’t think they’d be a good fit for me.

This is what they actually said:

> I would like to clarify that contact lenses are brand-specific and are prescribed based on the unique curvature of your eyes and the required lens thickness. Based on your recent exam, the contacts we prescribed are the best fit for your needs.

Does this sound legit, and should I just order the ones the doctor is pushing on me? (Weekly vs dailies btw)

I am hesitant to buy at the doctor’s office (even though it is recommended if any issues come up), because they only offer 6-month and 12-month options.

I just wanted to try daily contacts. :/

Not to play the race card, but does having small eyes affect a persons ability to wear contacts?

I [23F] am Asian and seem to be having difficulty grasping contacts. Now, I have seen other Asians wear contacts, specifically colored ones, so yes, I know it’s possible.

But it feels hard, lol. Does a smaller eye impact this at all, or am I just delulu?

Just because there is a genetic component does not mean that a biological family member dealt with the same issue, but there’s also a possibility that they did.
