TIL the god of thunder Raiden in Mortal Kombat was spelled "Rayden" in PC and console ports released until Mortal Kombat Trilogy, along with both movies and the TV series, fearing "Raiden" would lead to trademark issues from a shoot 'em up game also named Raiden. Creator Ed Boon hated the change.

Let's be honest: What was that moment when you were young that you thought "video game graphics can't be better than this"?

Metal Gear Solid on the original PlayStation.

When I saw those 3D models, the explosion effects, the thrilling boss fights, the Metal Gear mecha reveal at the end, the Hollywood-like cutscenes and so on, I truly thought game graphics can't ever top this.
