I will be submitting a short story (named "The door") and a poem (named "The candle" or "A leap of faith"). I am not sure if my short story is up to standard. Should I submit it or rewrite it? My main worry is that the twist at the end seems too foreseeable. The short story:

I am someone who has been working on a few really hard to complete projects and goals which many people have said to me that I can't accomplish (simply put, I am way too ambitious).

However, the fear of failure doesn't even come up in my mind. It's like I have this unwavering trust in myself. Sometimes it makes me think I might be overconfident but I am also glad because I have failed countless times in my life but this confidence has always made me carry on. It's like I feel down for 3 days after failing at something big but then I bounce back no matter what.

What does this mean? Is it a bad thing? The way I look at it, it's good because it has prevented me from giving up but it's also bad because it also makes me stubbornly pursue something which has a high probability of leading to failure.

CGPA (GSEB till 8th grade, CBSE from 9th grade)

Grade 9^(th) - 8.23

Grade 10^(th) - 8.55 (96% in English)

Grade 11^(th) - 7.43 (there's a reason for this, I mentioned it at the end)

Notable Skills and Extracurricular Activities

• Exceptional at creative writing. I have been specifically practicing novel writing for 5 years and have come a long way from how bad I used to be in 8^(th) grade. I grew up with novels btw.
• Good at public speaking. It was hard for me to improve as it meant forcing myself out of my comfort zone and onto the stage. For a year, I performed stand up comedy at open mics almost every Sunday or Saturday and faced humiliation and failure almost every time T-T... BUT I AM BETTER NOW BECAUSE OF IT (～￣▽￣)～
• Got into game development around 5 years ago. I mostly experimented at the start but then started working on an amazing 2D platformer at some point. Everything was going great aaaaaand then my shitty laptop's hard drive got corrupted ಥ_ಥ. It's fine because I have moved on and now I am working on my most ambitious project yet (alone... *depressed noises* something something too much work *depressed noises*) which is a 3D story rich game WITH VOICE ACTING （￣︶￣）↗　(why am I doing this in 12th grade, lol)
• Have done volunteering and disability inclusion work at an NGO on Sundays for a month or so. I still remember some of those I spent my time with :)

Awards and shit

• Around half a dozen certificates related to creative writing. I got all of them after 8th grade. Couldn't get any certificates from my shitty elementary and middle school because they were simply bad (was too poor to attend gud school, lol). My high schools were good hence the certificates.
• I gave some random ass English national Olympiad in 10th grade. Got a "Top 5% in the nation" silver certificate, whatever the fuck that means. Also, I gave SOF olympiad in 11th grade and did horrible, lol (my entire 11th year was horrible T-T). This year, I will definitely do great in the English 12th grade SOF Olympiad as I excelled in the workbook papers.
• Two or three public speaking certificates from open mics and my school.
• I am afraid all my certificates are school level. I don't have state, national or international level achievements.

SAT

TL;DR: Expected SAT score is 1480-1520 with over 750 English score.

I gave a shit ton of practice tests and got over 750 in the English section in all of them. My maths score, however keeps fluctuating between 630-700. My average score in the practice papers was around 1400 because of Maths. I was fairly confident I would do better than that in the real SAT on August 22nd because I practiced for weeks... but I got anxious on test day and totally ruined it. I will give SAT again and I WILL SCORE ABOVE 1480.

Important noteworthy details (that I don't like to talk about because they don't define me as a person) that are a part of my life whether I like it or not

• I have ankylosing spondylitis, an autoimmune disease. All it is for me is a pain in the ass everywhere really. I was diagnosed with it around the time I started 11th grade and it took me many months to change my lifestyle to stabilize myself.
• Really abusive environment... that's all I will say.
• I am from India. Also my parents haven't been to college.

So I started working on a 3D game a few weeks ago. I have made a lot of progress so I thought I should share what it is about. It's basically a survival horror ... which is also an action shooter.

To put it simply, it's a survival horror by night and an action shooter by day. It's heavily inspired by the chaotic combat of Deep Rock Galactic and the stealth mechanics of Alien Isolation. The character has certain bionic powers with a suit that amplifies them. The suit only works during the day because of a malfunction (connected to the story, upgrades are basically you fixing the suit) so the character is very weak during the night. He's also stranded on an alien planet.

I'm planning on making it very story oriented as well. I'm really good at creative writing so expect an awesome story. Voice acting is in the roadmap. Will release a demo in October or November which will basically be the first chapter. How good is the idea, if executed properly?

I have read so much on so many websites that many top colleges look for students who have done the best they can with what they had access to. How true is that statement? If I apply to Yale and I am competing against students who have attended IB schools or done AP courses, how can I not be at a disadvantage?

I have spent most of my life perfecting the skills that would be important to my dream career. I am better than most at creative writing (Ik CW is a very vast category so I do have certain fortes in that) but I have never really participated in any national or international writing competition. I also starting learning game development when I was in 7th grade - so I can convert some of my stories into another format of media that I love - and have made some demos but, I have no way of making anything on a large scale and marketing it.

I have participated in almost every CW related competition in my school and I have some certificates but that isn't even that impressive as these are just school level. I have also done special needs care volunteering for some time at a local NGO. I have also given many English Olympiads and I got silver (top 5%) in a national Olympiad for 10th grade students (it's not as big as a SOF Olympiad, the organization behind it is much much smaller)

None of this seems that impressive. I feel like I could've done a lot more.

I have always focused more on my personal projects (that would be helpful in my career) but I still managed to get 81.2% in 10th. I was facing some issues in 11th grade so I didn't have good grades. However I have had a really good upward trend in some subjects in this year's first exam and I am 100% sure I will have that upward trend in every subject in my next exam in September. I am pretty sure I will excel in my SAT as well. I am easily getting around 750 in R&W section of the practice tests which many people struggle with.

Also, I worked my ass off in 11th to get a 25/30 in my P.E practicals at the end of the year which wasn't easy since I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease around the time I started 11th grade.

I am also working on my biggest project yet, right now. It's a 3D game with a really unique concept that, I am sure, has not been explored before. I hope I have a demo ready by the time I apply for college.

Have I done enough? I have some things I can show (like my manuscripts and my game demos) but I don't have any big certificates to prove that I am really good at something. I am 100% sure I can write an amazing personal essay but how can I compete against those who had a lot more funds to devote towards their personal projects and had access to more opportunities than me?

I need good ground textures to match the stylized look of this asset pack. I have searched everywhere and I can only find realistic ground textures which ruin the entire look. I also need them to be royalty free textures. Anyone got a website where I can look? Thanks in advance.

I switched to Omen, wanted to switch to a good controller for a while now. Ik Clove is a more aggressive controller but I like Omen's kit.

I am a chill guy, need someone chill who doesn't smash monitors on losing a damn game. Need someone I can duo with in Valorant but I also play many other games (that I can run). My favourite game is Alien Isolation and Skyrim. Usually only free around 5:30 EST to 8:30 EST but on weekends, I am also free from 1:30 EST to 3:30 EST.

I usually don't trust people online (but I will be nice if u are) so no asking for discord ID. I will share when I want to and I will ban any creeps. Also, I don't play with people who are relatively much older (25+).
