Coming to Eastern Washington for Perseids Meteor Shower!

Hi all, Wednesday is the peak night, the moon is cooperating, if the sky is clear this could be an EXCELLENT viewing year!

My wife and I rented a little place in Ronald, near Roslyn and Cle Elum. Any space nerds out in that area paying attention to this celestial event?

My personal list of Aesop's hard tracks.

Posted a while ago. I love listening to Aesop as my baseball pregame ritual and I asked for recommendations of his songs that will make you run through a brick wall. I incorporated many of the great suggestions and whittled it down to these 12. The last song Himalayan Yak Chew is not as hard, but it's a bonkers good track and how I wanted to finish it off.

Hope you like it, sorry for the commercials,

Anybody in the PNW have any details on the Elevate/Perfect Game settlement in their case against Top Tier?

I’ve read the judges ruling and it lays out penalties of 1.6 M and pretty punitive scheduling restrictions against Top Tier for 2026 and 2027. Just wondering if anyone in the Pacific Northwest had heard anything else or has any thoughts.

Dry aged Lamb in an UMAI bag.

Well I figure I'll get my dry aged lamb on the record since people seem to ask and there's not much info.

Trader Joe's Lamb Roast, UMAI Bag for 38 days.

Gross weight: 38 ounces

Cost:$23.75 (9.99/lb)

Weight after aging: 26.6 ounces

Weight after pellicle removal: 15.85 ounces

% edible meat: 42%

We sous vided the meat at 136 for 6.5 hours, then finished it under the broiler.

There was so much pellicle, my wife was able to make a delicious gravy out of it.

The lamb tasted excellent, all the gaminess you want and hope for and it was plenty tender. Lost too much meat. The Trader Joe's lamb is such a good deal that I'll try it again, but only for 15 days. The gross weight would be enough to easily serve 4, what we had barely fed the two of us with sides.

Also, I might have paid more than $9.99 per pound, I just know that historically that's what they've charged.

Just bought myself a purple face Citizen Tsuki-Yomi A-T. There's a reason it's not pictured.

I'm not putting it on my wrist until October 1, which will be my 1 year anniversary of being sober. I already bought it and shipped it to my wife with instructions to hold it until then. I do not believe in jinxes, I do believe in incentives, and I have really wanted this watch for a long time.

As for the argument I had with myself about spending this much money, I remembered that $600 is approximately half of what I spent on alcohol per month. So I could buy myself one of these every two weeks with the money I'm not attacking my liver with.

Come back on October 1 and share the occasion with me!

If umpires had a pre-game prayer to the Baseball Gods, what kind of shit would be in it?

Thinking like "On this holiest of tournament days, might thou grace me with a bounty of mercy ruled games" or "In your infinite wisdom, allow thine subjects to always properly tag up in your name." Etc.

Putting together a playlist of ultimate top fire bangers…

So Aesop is my go to for pregame pump up inspirational music, and I’m looking for his tracks that, for lack of a better way to put it, simply go the hardest. Right now for me the top 2 would be Secret Knock and Mystery Fish. What Aesop track would you put on a playlist right before you ran head first through a brick wall?

"That writer" David Halberstam...

...wrote perhaps the greatest book on basketball ever, "The Breaks of the Game", along with many other highly acclaimed sports books. Also won the Pulitzer for his reporting on Vietnam which ultimately led to the book "The Best and the Brightest".

Put some respect on his goddamned name guys. He wrote amazing books IN YOUR FIELD OF "EXPERTISE".

“My balls smell like Jack’s mouth.”

“How do you know what Jack’s mouth smells like?”

“Cause my balls were in it.”

My favorite off-screen exchange.

Did your car get munched on Friday at the Whole Foods?

About 4:45 Friday in front of the Pete’s Coffee patio I saw a parked car get its front taken out. Since there were dozens of people right there as witnesses, I went about my shopping. Not 10 minutes later the guy who caused it was gone. So I wanted to make sure you have the info you need if it was your car.

Listen to this horseshit from a coach today.

13u all day, bracket play leading to championship game. I've been keeping them on time, but only with some luck.

So I've got the home team needing 1 fucking run to mercy the other team in the 4th inning. I calculated the the home team scoring 1 run here will give me a break of 1 hour and 10 minutes. Fucking sweet.

Leadoff hitter bashes the shit out of the ball over the left fielder's head. I can taste the beef jerky sitting in my car. He rounds second, he's going to coast in for a stand up triple with no outs. I can taste the cold Diet Dr. Pepper in my cooler. We are easily going to plate this run, by hook or by crook.

3rd base coach sends him.

He is thrown out by forty goddamned feet. One out. They fail to score a run. Game goes the full 7 because a shit for brains coach fucking sent a sure winning run in the fiery pits of hell.
