I commented “FUCK ICE UNTIL ITS BACKWARDS” and stupidly did not realize what it meant.

There was a post about how James A. Janisse of Dead Meat’s friend was taken by ICE, and so I said in support “It’s Fuck ICE until it’s backwards,” thinking “but it’s backwards” was something akin to “until the rails fall off” or “until I die.”

I, 20M, then saw my comment getting downvoted and then Googled that phrase. It was the exact opposite of what I meant.

I feel bad, not only since I unintentionally came off as a bigot, but now I feel like an idiot for not realizing the very clear meaning behind “but it's backwards.”

Like…jesus I'm an idiot. Its so clearly “until it's flipped into the opposite meaning” how am I 20 years old, online a lot, and still dotn have the brainpower to figure out what that means.

*Excluding Robert Duvall, every nominee was in the MCU at some point

* *Excluding Robert De Niro, every nominee was in or will appear in the MCU at some point

USC introduced a course focused on Sinners.

I kept telling over and over how this movie will be studied in film schools but didn’t even expect this soon!

How did Sinners happen? What is its significance—as a blockbuster, a vampire movie, a musical, a chronicle of race and culture in the US over time? What can it tell us about motion picture production today? What can it tell us about culture as such? To get at these questions, this colloquium will center on interviews with both craftspeople and studio executives—many USC alums; readings in creative industry discourse, genre, and racial history; and screenings of crucial films that influenced the project or that might provide context.

2023:

Jamie Lee Curtis - Everything Everywhere All At Once

I don’t give a fuck if this is satire or not, it’s still disgusting

Found this in r/Caldruki which occasionally gets recommended to me. I don’t care if it is satire, we need to have standards

None of these will likely happen, but if any of these got a Best Actress nomination, which would be most happiest for/vote most

These were all movies that got critical acclaim, but few chances at the Oscars. Nothing really correlating other than that, these are just the first four that came to mind LOL

Instagram needs to place the repost button away from the comments button

Way too many times have I accidentally reposted and then unreposted videos that I had no interest in reposting because I wanted to see the comments. This is fucking insane

What will be this year’s Delroy Lindo (someone who will get nominated despite missing all the pre-cursors)

For this to happen, it has to be on the strength of either the performance or the strength of the film.

In the former group, maybe Rachel McAdams for Send Help? No guarantees tho (if this is ineligible lmk, I can't think of another example atm)

In the latter, I’m gonna say Halle Bailey in The Debut. A young, up-and-coming star (semi-established) in likely their most critically acclaimed project to date.

Amy Poehler asks Greta Lee if she won for ‘Past Lives’, Greta says: “No I wasn’t even nominated in the end, but you know no one even knows that, so I just pretend. Just pretend, I’m like ‘yeah’”
