I’m 23 and trying to turn my life around. I’m looking for a career instead of just working random jobs, and I finally applied for a correctional officer position in Ohio. I have an interview coming up, and I’m hoping it’s the start of something better.
I’m also trying to get my finances together. I want to stop living paycheck to paycheck, learn how to budget, build my credit, save consistently, invest, and eventually buy a home. I know I’ve made mistakes, but I’m focused on improving and building a stable future.
If you could give your 23-year-old self advice, what would it be? What financial habits, books, career advice, or life lessons helped you get ahead? I’m open to any guidance. I just want to make the right decisions while I’m still young.
I have an interview with an Ohio correctional facility coming up. I don’t have a high school diploma, and I know that’s usually a requirement. I’ve been interested in this career for about a year and finally got the courage to apply. I’m young, willing to learn, and ready to work. Does anyone else think Albert Bell is being overlooked against Abdullah Mason?
Bell is 28-0 but has never really gotten a big opportunity.
Is he actually underrated, or has he been carefully matched to keep the undefeated record?
Mason is the more talented fighter on paper, but Bell’s awkward style could make this much tougher than people think.

My 2004 GMC Envoy randomly won’t start. When I turn the key, the dash lights come on but there’s no crank and no click. It has shown “Unknown Driver” on the dash before and is showing it again now. The radio and windows don’t work when this happens.
A few days ago it did the same thing, then started normally the next morning.
Battery tests at 12.4V with engine off and 14V when running. I’ve also had the driver’s seat move by itself before.
Has anyone seen this before? Could it be the BCM, ignition switch

My SUV had a weird issue last night and I’m trying to figure out what caused it.
The vehicle wouldn’t start, the dash lights would dim when I tried to crank it, and the radio wouldn’t come on. It also said “UNKNOWN DRIVER” on the dash instead of recognizing Driver 1 or Driver 2. Usually my memory seat moves into position automatically, but it didn’t.
This morning the vehicle started right up and now it’s recognizing Driver 2 again, the memory seat works, and everything seems normal.
Has anyone experienced this before? Could it be a weak battery, bad battery connection, ground issue, BCM problem, ignition switch, or something else? Looking for ideas on what to check before it leaves me stranded.

I received a settlement check from Elk & Elk for around $12,000. I have the check and supporting documentation. If I take it to the bank that the check is drawn on, can I cash it and receive the funds immediately, or will they likely place a hold on it regardless?
I also have an account, but I’m trying to avoid waiting several business days if possible. Has anyone had experience cashing a settlement check of this size?
