122 players and twelve head coaches were eligible for selection, covering the period from 1 January 2000 to 31 December 2024.

The chosen starting XI in a 3-5-2:
Hradecky – Tah, Lucio, Tapsoba – Schneider, L. Bender, Rolfes, Ballack, Wirtz – Kießling, Havertz
Head coach: Xabi Alonso

Florian Wirtz received the most votes among the players with 95%, while Xabi Alonso was selected by 92% of voters.

Our week in Houston has begun.
More than 1,000 athletes from around 50 countries have come together for the Genuine Cup. This year, Bayer 04’s Inklusionswerkself is representing Germany.
I want to take you along throughout the tournament here in this thread – starting with a few impressions from the opening ceremony and our first encounters with teams from around the world.

During the autograph session after training, Eddy was given a shirt and asked to choose who should receive it. He walked through the crowd and handed it to a fan in a wheelchair.

„Schäferkusen“ hat Caro Simon uns genannt – sowas kannten wir vorher auch noch nicht.

What a teambuilding challenge. This is something everybody here in the club still talks about: Four kilometres, 400 sheep and plenty of opportunities to test communication, leadership and teamwork.

The challenge was developed by our sports psychologist Simon Borgmann. The task: guide the entire flock through fields, narrow passages and high grass – without losing control of the group.

A genuinely useful teambuilding exercise or mainly a fun break from regular training.
