Question about Quest 3 and learning Mixed Reality Development

Hey everyone!

Long story short: I'm selling my Quest 3 (this is not an ad about selling it) and I have someone interested in it. The thing is, I'm selling it with a Puppis S1 and a Virtual Desktop Account. The buyer is looking to buy the quest 3 not for playing, but for learning mixed reality development and stuff like that, he's a student.

I have the feeling that the Puppis S1 might be too overkill for him, like, he only needs a basic quest 3 and a cable and he's ready, right?

I'm just asking because I dont want this guy to buy a pack for which half its contents he won't need, I don't wanna scam him.

Can you guys tell me if such VR package would be a benefit for him (again, not interested in playing videogames, I used mine for flight sims) or too overkill?

I have a 5070ti (16vram), 64gb ram, 5800x3d, and my VR experience so far has been miserable due to using a Quest 3. Would a Pimax Crystal Light give me the experience I'm looking for?

Hey everyone,

As the title says

I want to play VR for flight sims such as MSFS2024, IL-2, and DCS.

Quest 3 has been pure misery since the beginning. People kept recommending it but I just can't make it work for me.

Would a Pimax Crystal make VR great and enjoyable or it's all my PC's fault?

[Quest 3 + Virtual Desktop] Not sure if I'm setting this up properly, get weird frame drops

Hello Everyone! So i'm fairly new to Virtual Desktop and I finally managed to make it work with my Quest 3 and a Puppis S1. I have watched a couple of tutorials and tested a bit, but i have reached a very weird spot: In the "Latency" i sometimes get high latency but not frequently, and i mostly see such latency is coming from the game itself (But again very low latency) yet the visuals feel weird and I get random frame drops.

Honestly I don't know if I'm doing this properly, could you guys take a look at my settings and tell me if I'm doing it right?

First, my specs:

5070TI 16GB VRAM

5800x3D

64GB Ram

Games I'm playing: Il-2 Battle of Stalingrad and MSFS 2024

Just found about the cardputer and other similar devices, I'm interested in learning about them and using them but I don't know which one should I get

Hey everyone,

So recently I started knowing about the cardputer and other similar devices. I'm studying networking, I have interest in it and in stuff like mesh static, but I will be honest all these things right now are like concepts Im not totally getting a grasp on.

I would like to know, what device (cardputer or not) could I get to learn about these things? what is the one device that's more suitable for a didactic experience? I know this is the cardputer subreddit and my question is going a bit beyond the device itself, but I really didn't know where to find a more general hub for these topics to ask such question!

If you guys also recommend other learning material I will gladly accept it so!

Thanks in advance!

Me preocupa mi futuro.

Help fine running Virtual Desktop for better visuals?

Hey Everyone! I think I just found the minimal settings for my computer to run in VR, because on the performance overlay in Virtual Desktop there is no latency (no Orange numbers). I copied these settings from a couple of people online.

Still It looks a Little bit too blurry as for, when example, I started using Virtual Desktop with a higher bitrate (but had way more latenct)

I would like to know which settings in particular can I start playing with to get a better resolution and less blurry visuals?

Also, with my computer, should I keep the Virtual Desktop Settings like this and just settle with it, or can I safely increase them more?

Games I play: Il-2 Battle Of, MSFS 2020, VTOL VR

CPU: 5800x3d

64GB RAM

RTX 5070TI 16gb vram

Is it time to jump to msfs2024?

I have msfs2020 and I play it for sometime, but the lack of activities is sort of making my playtime shorter and shorter.

Now Msfs2024 is on sale in Steam, is it worth to just go to 2024?

How is VR running? I have:

5800x3d

64gbram

5070ti 16gbvram

Quest 3 + Virtual desktop

Is there a way to restart your character to start clean?

As the title says. I started as Shaman, with a lot of those sensors you can equip to see behind walls. It was my first time playing the game, died a lot, lost them all, and while now I have money I don't know how to get them back. Plus I heard there was a new tutorial content.

Am I doing something wrong or does VR look like this?

Finally got into VR this week thanks to my new 5070ti arriving. I'm using it with a 5800x3d and 64gb of ram, and a Quest 3 that sadly I can only use with the quest link because I tried setting up a puppis router to use VD but due to my poor wifi I just couldn't.

I'm playing IL2 VR, using openxr. With the Quest 3 I'm using 90hz and almost the maximum resolution (followed Sheriff sim's video)

The game runs great, but a lot of sharp edges, and looking at the distance it looks so blurry it makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong... I didn't imagine VR would be like this. I don't see myself spotting much with this blurriness. Am I doing something wrong? or is this expected on a VR Headset thats not connected via display port?

VR newbie questions

Hello everyone,

Just started getting into VR and IL-2 and I don't know if I'm doing this correct here. The game runs nice in VR, 90 fps, but regarding how it looks, it looks a bit blurry, and most of the edges appear very sharp.

I'm using openxr instead of steamvr, and I followed Sheriff's sim shack video on configuring the quest 3 for VR.

The thing is that I don't know how it is supposed to look on VR, so I would like to know if maybe I have anything else to configure?

My specs: 5800x3d, 64gb ram, 5070ti 16gb VRAM

Running quest 3 at 90hz and rendering resolution at 5152x2752

On IL2 settings it's all the in high, but regarding anti aliasing I don't know wether to use mxaa or fsaa

Best wired headset?

I have a 5800x3d, 64gb ram and a 5070ti. I also have a Quest 3 and it's really not going to work for me. I bought a puppies router and Virtual Desktop, but my internet is not as good to provide a good experience with this configuration, so I really need a wired headset. Which one you recommend?

The HP reverb? the Psvr2? or there is something else I'm missing?

I also think about the pimax crystal, but maybe in a long future.

Is there any video that shows how these VR headsets look in the eyes? I heard that with the PSVR2, for flight sims for example, it looks great when you look in front of you but if you look down to say your instrumentals, it looks blurry, is that right?

When changing GPUS do I need to do a factory reset of the computer first?

Hello everyone!

I have been using an AMD 6650xt GPU, but I just got me an Nvidia 5070ti. Do I need to do a factory reset when changing the cards or with uninstalling the amd drivers is enough?

Hey everyone! I'm undecided between those two... Let me tell you my specs:

CPU: 5800x3d

PSU: 850

64ram

Quest 3 as VR visor (but would love to get a Pimax Crystal Light)

The prices:

The 5070ti is usually at 900$-1000$, while the 5080 usually sits at 1200$-1400$

I'm not really sure if it's worth to put the extra 300$ for the 5080 or if only with the 5070ti its enough, anyone can recommend me here? if you got one or another I would also love to hear your opinions!

I tried to get into VR with admittedly a bad GPU Rx 6650xt, paired with a 5800x3d and 64gb ram) using a Quest 3. I think most of the problems I had were because of the GPU, but the experience was so so terrible it almost made me give up and sell it...

I'm going to buy an rtx 5080 now, but I think I want to sell the quest 3 and just get a VR headset that plugs via display port, I don't want the hassle. I'm done.

Which DP VR headsets you guys recommend me that don't break the bank? is the pimax crystal light (the 700 one) the only one recommended that's not over 1000 bucks?
