Upped dose causing mania?

Hello I am 25M, made a post here yesterday about how I’m starting Lamictal and have been on 25mg for two weeks, now titrating up to 50mg this week. Yesterday I felt so unbelievably awful and said I was going to just stop it, but I thought I’d try and keep going to see if things got better, and maybe they are, or they’re worse, I can definitely feel an obvious change in my usual behavior because I am bouncing off the walls, needing to get everything under the sun done!! I don’t feel particularly great in this state but it’s a hell of a lot more productive than I usually am!

Is this mania? Does the medicine induce mania sometimes? I know you’re not medical professionals and I’m not basing any actual decisions off this, I just need to know if this is really bad

25M - Upped dose today and feel so much worse.

My psychiatrist recently started me on the generic Lamotrigine, two weeks on 25mg, then up to 50mg and see how I feel. Awful is how I feel.

I had a severe panic attack last week, and today I had my second, much less severe but still day altering. Everything feels extremely heightened and my brain can’t turn off and my heart feels weird and I have so much anxiety and restlessness and my head hurts and I’m so dizzy and I had awful sleep last night and I know it won’t be good tonight.

I’m stopping immediately, I’ll be seeing my psychiatrist next Monday for the follow up but I just didn’t know if my reaction is at all common, I hate every part of how I feel right now.

Edit: Manufacturer is Aurobindo

25M - Attack so bad I thought it was psychosis.

Last night I had the most severe panic attack in my entire life. Anything else I’ve ever experienced pales in comparison to what happened last night. I don’t remember everything that got me there but all I remember is just the massive wave of dread and panic from feeling trapped in existence. My feelings for life have all but disappeared, yet I have my marriage commitment to keep. I want her to be happy, and me existing with her makes her happy I think. But none of it means anything to me anymore, and I feel destroyed inside because of it. I can’t make myself feel the feelings I once did about life. I can’t go back to how I used to be. It’ll never get better. It’s lost. Happiness has been lost. I am trapped in existence and I should probably stop typing before I panic again. I can’t live like this.

Beginning of my collection!

I also 3D printed these modular cart holders! They fit really nice and it even included label files to label the games! Not my design but I’ll see if I can share it here if anyone wants to do it as well!

EDIT: Print files

25M - My emotions are on a rollercoaster

Yesterday I felt pretty great for the first time in a long time, and now today is an absolute shitshow. Nothing changed from yesterday to today. I just want to matter.

Marriage difficulties from my deconstruction.

Over the past couple of years I have gone through a lengthy and painful deconstruction process. I grew up in a Baptist/non-denominational evangelical setting, and two years ago, leading up to my wedding, I experienced a lot of church hurt and overstepping that led me down this path. I initially still wanted to believe in God and follow Jesus, but as I experienced more and more silence from him, I came to a place where I gave up trying to pursue a one-sided relationship.

This led to a complete collapse of meaning in my life and my already bad depression got even deeper and worse. I was hospitalized in April for suicidal ideation, and after that just kept living life despite not wanting to exist.

Recently I came across the philosophy of absurdism and the writings of Albert Camus, and life has begun to feel somewhat interesting again. That’s where I’m at now.

My wife, through all this, still wants to somewhat hold on to her belief in God, but she has been very kind in not pushing anything onto me and allowing me to explore. However, there have been some pretty fundamental changes in me that make me fear for the future of our marriage. A major one that is top of mind right now is having children. She desperately wants to have children, but I no longer have a desire to bring beings into this world when they will inevitably experience the same pain I have in discovering that the world has no meaning. Not only this, but I don’t even know how I can raise a kid like this, and my mental health is still extremely volatile and I absolutely do not want kids involved.

The most painful part is probably that if I had the knowledge I have now, I likely would never want to get married. But I still very much value my wife and her wellbeing, but I also don’t want to compromise my new values. I don’t know what to do, any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Please don’t just say “get divorced”, I don’t think I could handle the shame from that right now.

25M - Trying to open up to people again :)

My mental health has not been great for a lot of months now, but in this moment, I feel okay! I started a new med today and idk if it's placebo but I'm feeling kinda alright when I've been dead for months!

I really just wanna talk to people. I like getting to know people, exploring interesting ideas together, all the fun parts of life, you know? My interests are gaming, philosophy, I recently started Warhammer, I'm 420-friendly, I can talk about whatever! Just come on in woohooooo

25M - Starting Lamictal After Cymbalta

I’ve been taking Cymbalta (Duloxetine) for a few years for severe depression, but I’ve recently noticed I have noticed I’ve had a pattern of intense mood swings and even short periods of mania, so my psychiatrist wants to start me on Lamictal, as my depression also isn’t really being alleviated.

He mentioned the possible rash very briefly at the end, but it seems to be a real risk from posts I’ve seen here, and now I’m a little worried. Should I be concerned or is this really worth it?

25M - Trying to find enjoyment in life

Hello! I’m Sam, I’m autistic and just want to have someone to talk to casually for fun! I’ve felt really isolated and alone for a while now and have really wanted someone to just pass the time with. Life has been really heavy on my mind lately and I just want to forget about it even for a moment.

My interests are video games (Roguelikes, RPGs, meteoidvanias), anime, philosophy, nature, coffee, recently had someone get me into warhammer so I’m building figurines! I’m into nerdy stuff so if you like that, let’s chat :)

Please help I am new

I have been on a journey of deconstruction from evangelical Christianity for about 2 years now (probably longer) and have reached the point where I’m completely failing to see the point in any of life. This has been quite a depressing and low point of my life, but I’ve found solace in absurd/surreal humor like South Park, and recently came across this subreddit. I didn’t know others had thought in similar paths as I have been, and so I’m curious to explore the writings and thoughts of those who’ve gone before me. I want to understand if there is a way for me to keep carrying on with life even when I just can’t seem to see the meaning anymore, and this philosophy sounds very interesting! Does anyone have good places to start or who to read? Any advice is welcome!!

I have no hopes for the future

Hi, I’m 25M, this post will probably be all over the place but that’s just like my mind these days lol.

My mental health has been steadily declining for a very long time, I’ve lost many friends along the way and now I don’t really have anyone close to me besides my wife. She can’t bear the weight of my mental state which is totally okay, no one should, but I just feel like I’m gonna completely cave at any moment! Just about every day I have a moment where I just sit and dissociate, nothing feels real, and it feels like my life could just end at any moment. I’ve been hospitalized for this before but quickly realized it would not help me. I honestly don’t know what can help me besides someone just giving a fuck about me. I’ve lost friends, I’ve lost my faith, I’ve lost hope, this world goes more to shit every day and I can’t do a damn thing to change it!

I’m sorry, that’s a lot. I want to believe that life can be good, but all the evidence around me says it’s not lol. I’ve lost all meaning, and I hate the bullshit “make your own meaning”. God I sound aggressive, but I’m just bitter. At everything. It all sucks.
