I'm the MOD over on the r/Stationery sub, and I've started tracking all Worldwide Stationery-related events... apparently, this has set up an algorithm that notifies me of ALL events 👀, so I decided to keep an eye out for certain ones.

I'm excited to see this community thrive with all of the events and community gatherings taking place. Not to mention that planner season is upon us again, and sexy new notebook designs are being shown all over IG. I have promised myself I wouldn't buy any more... although I will be attending BunguLA in October, and there is no telling how many I might pick up there! 😂

Anyhoo, this is my share of the day.

In my research on worldwide stationery events (evidently), I have built an algorithm for all stationery events on Instagram, so I've signed up for as many as I can attend, LMAO 😄, although Sundays are spoken for, as it's PATS football season and my Sundays are spoken for... #GOPATSGo

I rearranged my Letterpress Shelf, and a friend of mine went to Italy back in February. She brought me note cards, and a co-worker gave me a Stationery bag! Which will come handy for the Junk Journal event this Saturday that I will be attending. ❤️

My Stationery Store Day 2026 Adventure 🛍️✒️

Here's the story...

I had my grandkids from 9:00 AM Friday until 3:00 PM Sunday. 😎

I had originally taken Friday off so I could spend the day hitting as many Stationery Store Day shops as possible by myself. I already knew we had plans to spend Saturday at the lake (it was 108° here in Southern California), and every SSD I've participated in (circa 2023) has been an absolute scorcher 🥵, not to mention the legendary traffic and long lines.

Well... those plans changed. 😂

The kids ended up staying with me because, well... they wanted to hang out with Granny. ❤️

We still managed to make a fun day of it!

By that point it was pushing 100°, and I decided it was probably best to get the kids (and myself!) out of the sun and off the freeways before Friday rush hour really kicked in.

So... no shopping for me on Saturday ☹️ I did set my alarm so I could order some official SSD merchandise from Calliope Paperie (the Founder/Creater of Stationery Store Day) right when it launched... but dagnabit, those grandkids needed breakfast. 😂🍳

I got distracted, and by the time I made it to the website, the item I wanted was already sold out.

On Sunday, after taking them to see Spider-Man (most excellent movie, by the way! 👍), I dropped them off and hightailed it over to Baum-kuchen (Eagle Rock).

I was really hoping to pick up the Soola Stationery Store Day Pouch limited edition Soola through Calliope Paperie, but it had already sold out. Thankfully, I was able to order it directly from the Soola website, so all was not lost!

I'll also be placing another order with Bobo Design Studio because I just ❤️ Angie, the owner.

All in all... I may not have made it to every store on my list, but I got to spend an amazing weekend with my grandkids and support several wonderful stationery shops. I'd call that a pretty successful Stationery Store Day. 💛

So if you couldn't make it to NYC—or you're nowhere near NYC—this is your opportunity to celebrate right in your own community... Worldwide!! ❤️

🏪 Visit a participating stationery shop near you.
🛍️ Shop small and discover something new.
✒️ Pick up that pen you've been eyeing.
📓 Add another notebook to the collection we all swear we don't need. 😂
💌 And most importantly, show some love to the independent shops that give our stationery community a place to gather, discover new artists and brands, and enjoy this hobby together.

And if there isn't a participating shop near you, that's ok too 👍 Many participating stores also have online shops, and some will be offering Stationery Store Day specials and exclusive merchandise online, availability will vary by retailer.

Aka our favorite time of the year!

Here’s what you need to know to prepare:

-The shop is open from 11am until midnight on Monday 8/31!

-The Hobonichi drop is at 10pm *in the shop*

-At 6pm you will be able to take a number, think deli number, waiting at the passport office, etc. This number is your place in line for the 10pm drop.

-The reason you will take a number: to minimize time waiting in line!!! Our hope is once you get your number you can shop, have dinner, grab a drink, journal, not wait in a line.

-At 9:30 pm we will ask everyone to get in line according to your number!

-At 10pm we will start shopping Hobonichi 2027!

-Everyone will stay in their place in line and walk through our walls of Hobonichi! No passing, even if you’re going for a weeks, or an accessory at the end of the wall. Everyone will get an equal opportunity to look at all 2027 items. Calm, kind, chill

-You will take your items to the check out!

Once we are through the in-person line at the shop, all of our 2027 Hobonichi items will go live online! Last year this was around midnight.

We plan to open at 12pm the day after the drop.

If you placed an online order for curbside pickup we will have your orders ready for you!

If you are not a night owl and want to shop Hobonichi 2027 in the daylight, this is your day! We will have everything out and ready for you and all of the staff ready to help you decide.

This is our favorite day of the year! This is our 4th year doing a 10pm drop party and it gets more fun year after year!

TRAVELER’S COMPANY, which creates tools—starting with TRAVELER’S notebook—to help you live every day as if you were on a journey, is launching the “TRAVELER’S COMPANY CARAVAN,” an event where we travel as a caravan. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of TRAVELER’S notebook, we will be holding this event in locations around the world.

On September 11 and 12 at Yoseka Stationery will be hosting “DIY TRAVELER’S notebook!,” where you can create your very own original notebook refill. Choose your favorite paper from the wide variety on display—just like a buffet—and our staff will bind and trim it on the spot. The result will be a one-of-a-kind notebook refill, the only one of its kind in the world. In addition, event-exclusive items will be on sale, including the “TRAVELER’s notebook 20th Anniversary Customization Set,” “TRAVELER’S notebook Baby,” and “20th Anniversary Refills.” A stamp corner will also be set up at the venue.

Reservations are required for entry. Two ticket options are available. Tickets are non-refundable/non-transferable.
