Why is my BlueCruise free??

2024 XLT Powerboost, 22k miles, USA

I bought the truck a year ago, it was a one year lease return and was told it was the dealership owner's son's truck. I've had active BlueCruise since I bought it, nothing on my Ford account shows active BlueCruise and I'm not being charged for it. Any idea what's going on?

Too many zero turn options!

I've always had garden tractor type riders, most recently John Deere, but we're buying this place with 2.5 acres to mow and I'm thinking I should consider my first ever zero turn. There are so many options in that $3000-$4000 price point which is where I'd like to be and my head's spinnin'! Is 54" overkill on a yard like this? I do know I want something with a sturdy welded deck but other than that I'm lost. I realize everybody has their opinion on makes .... Bad Boy seems to be popular here in north Texas, any other "better than most" options I need to be open to? Thanks for any help you can give a first timer.

WaterFurnace Premier 2 geothermal system, What Questions To Ask?

We are house shopping and scheduled to look at a house tomorrow that has this system. Of course I would have a pro inspection done before an offer but Reddit never lets me down!

This house was built in 1995, I've not gotten an owner's disclosure yet but no mention of the system being replaced so I'm assuming it's 30 yrs old. I've read that expected lifespan on these things is 20-25 yrs old, so is it in it's last years? What do I look for and what questions do I ask.

2024 F150 Powerboost "Charging system, service now" alert, HELP PLEASE LOL!

We are 3 states away from home! Truck has appx 20k miles. After the last sync update a couple weeks ago, which I think was Bluecruise related, my truck has been acting goofy, I wasn't able to get voice syncs using Apple CarPlay and GPS was whacked. Friday afternoon I disconnected both batteries for 30 minutes and got audio back and GPS appears fine now. Then yesterday I got the alert "Charging system, service now". My first step was to pull over and double check the battery connections which were fine. So I took it to the nearest Ford dealer, they said the computer indicated I needed an alternator but the service writer and tech weren't sure that was correct. The battery under the hood tested ok on a quick check but they suspected it and replaced it anyway and reset the BMS and said hopefully that would fix it but it not call 'em. It was good for about 30 minutes and 30 miles then got the alert again. I called the service writer who said said they would have to do more research before they could order the alternator, which they don't have, then it would be a couple days to get it in and installed. He told me that the alternator was charging the battery but the system didn't recognize that it was charging resulting in the alert and his suggestion was to drive it back home to Alabama and get it fixed locally. Worst case scenario being if it shoots craps on the road call Ford service, they tow it to the nearest dealer and give us a courtesy car.

Does any of this sound reasonable or does it smell off? They didn't say anything about checking the aux battery under the back seat, any chance that could be the culprit? Any ideas or suggestions?

Pine log look siding, do you own a house with it??

We didn't set out looking for a log home but we've stumbled across this place. We like the property it sits on a lot but have concerns about the siding. I realize it will need to be maintained well but what does that look like? Is it as simple as just spraying it every year or so or is it more involved? What about termite, carpenter bee, etc protection? And even with proper maintenance what would be the expected lifespan?

Old time string band music?

We're moving back to East Texas soon after being away for 40 years and would like to find some open jam sessions where clawhammer banjo would fit in. Is there an old time music community there, not bluegrass but Appalachian-ish mountain music, lots of fiddle and clawhammer banjo?

Bascom - New Chapel Hill area?

My wife and I are moving back to East Texas after being away for many years. We've been window shopping for homes online and are coming in a week or so to look at some places. We would really like to be SW and closer to Palestine, and there are many places for sale around Bullard, Flint, Brownsboro, Lake Palestine, etc but we're not finding much in our budget range that we like. We have spotted a couple of places between Bascom and NCH that are interesting, what's that area like nowadays? Any gotchas we need to be aware of?

I love Quicken til I don't, PNC issues again

Anybody else having issues with Quicken Deluxe for Mac and PNC?

Quicken Classic Deluxe, Verrsion 9.0.3, Tahoe 26.5.1

I had issues with PNC Direct Connect Bank Bill Pay today, my normal process wouldn't work, kept popping up saying my payment must be a negative amount, never had that before. I spent a while online with help, got the online payments saved correctly and even though the solution was quirky thought we had something that would work figured out, until I tried to update and Quicken couldn't connect to PNC. All of my other accounts connect and update correctly, just PNC. Got back online with Quicken support and this agent did some digging and found that they were having reports of issues with PNC. I had similar issues last year after PNC overhauled their website, it took weeks for Quicken and PNC to get it fixed, both parties blaming the other. Here we go again, this smells like a PNC issue and I think Quicken issues annoy them!

HELP!!! Black Magic Tire Wet on my vinyl siding

I hired a local jack of all trades mobile home repair guy to clean the siding on our mobile home in preparation for selling. He described following up the pressure washing with a solution that would bring some life back to the vinyl color. What they put on was Black Magic Tire Wet. Mistake, it's blotchy looking, a sticky mess, and gnats and no-seeums are sticking to it. This stuff has silicone and oils in it and I don't think it's as simple as pressure washing it off. The Internet told me to use a grease cutting dishwasher detergent and if that didn't take care of it follow up with degreaser.

Anybody have experienced advice for me? Maybe recommend a good water based degreaser?

Did you like your builder in Palestine TX area, Anderson County?

Retired Texas expats moving back to be close to family. We're in the early planning stage and don't have land yet but it will be rural. We don't have a specific plan picked out but nothing fancy, 3/2, 1,600 - 1,800 sq ft living area, probably a gable roof, two covered porch areas, covered parking for 2 vehicles, maybe a garage, maybe attached carport. It would be great to find a trustworthy builder who is actually located in or near Anderson County, have you worked with one you liked?

I like the idea of lower maintenance of a metal structure but at this point I'm trying to determine if it's even gonna be possible to get this done within our budget or if we should just be shopping for existing houses. I realize that cost for utilities can be huge and until we have the site it's hard to guesstimate those costs but a local builder should be able to help fill in some blanks for me.

Am I missing something, is there really not a way to increase the font size of the search/URL window and tab titles? I know how to adjust the size of browser fonts in settings but those settings don't affect the search window or tab titles.

I use Safari most of the time but occasionally will use Chrome or FireFox on websites that don't get along well with Safari. In addition to just gettin older I also was recently diagnosed with macular degeneration, I do ok most of the time but sometimes I really struggle to see those two areas and it would help if they were the same size as general webpage text.

I'm hoping it was just a one-time thing but this morning my windshield washer wouldn't work, no low fluid warning, wipers worked ok when I turned 'em on but pushing the washer button did nothing. According to specs the reservoir holds appx 3.5 quarts and I added washer fluid expecting it to hold nearly a gallon but it held less than a quart, however the washer worked after that. I've searched both here and Google and found nothing, has anybody experienced this?
