How to get rid of wasps in my front and back yard?

I have a big wasp problem in my front and back yard. I can’t even step outside without wasps of all sizes and colors flying towards me. I hate being outside due to how uneasy I feel around them. I’ve tried looking for their hives and don’t see any. They’re always flying near the small trees and bushes. Is there anyway that doesn’t involve pesticides to get rid of them? We have pets that go outside and don’t want them to get stung.

Is my cat being picky or could it be something else?

I have a young female cat that’s around 3 to 4 years maybe. I don’t really know as she was given to me by some neighbors. In March I took her to the vet due to FHS symptoms. She had a back x ray and blood work done. She was also diagnosed with FIC and put on The Hills cd multicare stress line. I got her the dry food in the chicken flavor and the 5.5 oz cans in the chicken and tuna flavor.

My cat gets fed 3 times a day. The first day she ate half of the 5.5 oz cans for breakfast, some dry food for Lunch and didn’t eat the other half for dinner. Since then she would have days where she would eat all her food without any problems and days where she would refuse meals specifically her dinner. She was getting 200 calories a day but I’ve since put her on 180 calories since she’s on the chubby side.

It got to the point where I bought the 2.9 oz cans in the chicken and vegetable stew flavor. She would get one can for breakfast and the rest dry food for a total of around 200 calories. I had the most success with this plan as she went 3 weeks without refusing any meals. I forgot to mention that sometimes she wouldn’t finish her meals in one sitting and would leave to do something else like look out a window but she would eventually come back to finish the food. At most it would take her 2 to 3 trips to finish the food.

After 3 weeks of successfully eating her food she started refusing her dinner again. It got to the point where the day after she wasn’t really eating at all and was only taking small bites. She would eat 2 to 3 pieces of dry food and leave. It got to the point where I took her to the vet and they checked her belly and said she was chubby. They gave me some nausea meds and an appetite stimulant and the latter seemed to help but she still wouldn’t seem as food motivated as she was with her previous regular food of Fancy Feast wet food and Purina Pro Plan dry food. She still wouldn’t finish her food in one sitting or even 2 and she wouldn’t come back to finish food. I put her food bowl on top of her cat tree so the dog won’t reach it. I started leaving an opened carrier out so she would get use to it when we travelled to San Antonio a week from then.

It got to the point where I had to bring the food to her for her to finish it because she wasn’t coming back to it on the cat tree. I forgot to mention that the vets don’t think it’s illness related as she still eats and reaches her calorie goal. They think it’s pickiness. I tried Royal Canin dry and wet food and it seemed to work at first until she refused the wet food after 4 days and would only eat the gravy. I went back to The Hills but this time in the seafood flavor in the dry food and the 2.8 oz pouches of tuna and rice vegetable stew and the first days she liked it and showed interest but days later she lost interest.

Now, she refuses pouches, 5.5 oz cans, and 2.8 oz cans. Any time I give her some she’ll just lick and not really take bites. The vet told me to try the 30 minute rule where I leave the food for 30 minutes and put her in the room to eat and if she doesn’t eat to pick up the food and feed her until the next meal so she’ll get trained to eat but when I leave her in the room she won’t touch the food. It’s not until 30 minutes late or an hour later where I put the food in the carrier with her and she’ll eat it but never in one sitting. I’ve only tried the 30 minute rule a couple of times as every time I give in and put the food in the carrier with her.

The vets still think it’s pickiness but I had a stool sample done and it came out negative. She still gets excited when I open the cans because she’ll come and jump on the cat tree to when I serve her food but back then she use to be more food motivated and would even beg for food. Even when first on prescription food she would sometimes beg for more food and meow excitingly. She would wake me up early now I wake up earlier than her. She would even grab the dry food bag but now it’s like she’s not excited to eat even though she gets all her calories in a day. She seems more excited to go outside than eat as that’s the first thing she’ll rather do in the morning.

Any advice? Is there anything I can do?

Should I use the knits/blends or cotton/heavy setting to wash these Uniqlo no show socks?

I have these no show socks from Uniqlo that are 54% cotton, 43% polyester, and 3% spandex. Is it better to wash them in the cotton/heavy setting or the knits/blends or is there a better setting for them?

Also what setting is best to wash boxer briefs made out of polyester and spandex as well as soccer jerseys?

What settings should I be using when washing my clothes?

Okay I understand the load settings. The temperature setting is a little confusing as I see some recommend cold water and others warm or hot water. When should I be using the extra rinse option? What are the benefits and cons?

The clothing I’ll be washing is primarily cotton clothing. I have my nicer clothes that are used to go out or relax at home and the clothes I use to work or when I’m outside just relaxing or going out for light walks. I work in the garage doing upholstery so I obviously sweat from the heat. The same happens when outside and walking.

I want to say I should be using the cotton/heavy setting as all the clothes are cotton but I’m not so sure as the work/outside clothes is dirtier due to sweat compared to the nicer clothing. Any suggestions? Finally which setting should I be using for the duration of the wash?

I understand I can look up the manual but I can’t really find any information. I use Tide Original liquid detergent when washing clothes. Any help?

Cat not eating like she use to

My cat has been on The Hills Urinary c/d multicare stress prescription food since February. She gets both the wet and dry food. Ever since she’s been on this food she’s been less food motivated. At first she would get the 5.5 oz cans in both the chicken and tuna flavor. She would get half of the can for breakfast and the other half for dinner and for lunch a small amount of dry food. In total she would get around 200 calories. She would eat her breakfast and lunch but sometimes wouldn’t finish or touch her dinner. She would continue having days like this where she would occasionally skip dinner. It started happening a day or two a week until I switched her to the 2.9 oz cans in the chicken flavor.

She would get one can for breakfast and for lunch and dinner dry food only. She was doing well for 3 weeks until one night she skipped dinner. Those next couple of days she was hardly eating so I took her to the vet. The vet wasn’t worried as she was still eating and hadn’t stopped eating completely. They gave her nausea medication and appetite stimulants. Her last dose of the appetite stimulants is on Wednesday. Even with the appetite stimulants she doesn’t seem to be that hungry motivated. Back then she would eat some then leave then come back and rinse and repeat until she finished her food but now she’ll seem excited to eat and eat some then leave and when she does come back she doesn’t even touch or even look at the food.

I even started feeding her twice a day thinking that maybe it was due to her eating too frequently and not being hungry later on but she still seems to do it. I have her carrier out as the vet told me to leave it out for her to get use to vet visits and us traveling soon. If she’s inside I’ll put the bowl next her and she’ll eat some or all of the food otherwise she won’t even go to the usual spots where I place her bowl. She’ll just walk past the bowl and ignore it.

Could this be pickiness or something else? She eventually does eat the food and get her daily 200 calories but only after placing the bowl next to her inside the carrier. Maybe she’s getting too many calories. She is on the chubbier side and was 10 pounds around February and now weighs 12 pounds. The vet from February said she couldn’t really feel her ribs and that she should be getting 200 calories. The vet I went to recently said it was okay for her to stay on 200 calories.

Is it better to feed my cat twice a day or to feed her 4 small meals a day?

What’s the better feeding schedule for a cat? She needs around 200 calories a day. Option 1 is around 3 1/8 scoops which is around 130 calories of dry food for breakfast and then 12 hours later for dinner a 2.9 oz can that’s around 69 calories. Option 2 is 4 small meals all around 40 to 50 calories.

Which of the vet recommended brands is best for picky cats with FIC?

My cat has FIC and was put on The Hills Urinary Multicare cd stress prescription food. She’s been on it since February or March but ever since then I’ve had problems where she’ll skip meals specifically dinner. She gets fed 3 times a day. At first she would get the 5.5 oz cans split into 2 meals and the dry food. The last meal would be the other half of the can and a lot of times would not be interested. She would eat breakfast and lunch fine without problems.

I then started giving her the 2.9 oz cans once a day and the rest of her calories would be from dry food. She was fine on that for 3 weeks with yang problems or skipped meals but she recently started not wanting to eat again.

Is there a different brand that has better taste for picky cats? My vet specified it has to be one with calming ingredients to help with the stress.

Do I have Gerd? Symptoms 2 weeks after appendicitis surgery.

I had appendicitis surgery done on May 13 after a couple days of pain and symptoms. 2 weeks later I went for my Post op appointment and the surgeon gave me the go to eat whatever food as long as I could tolerate it. The next couple days I ate pizza and wings with no problems. On the last day of that week which would be 3 days after my post op appointment I ate some mango habanero wings which weren’t spicy. Immediately after I started getting pain in the middle area between the belly button and chest area. It felt like a cramping pain. Other than that there were no other symptoms and it went away after a few hours.

The week after I got the pain 3 more times but on different days. One time I got the pain 10 minutes before eating rotisserie chicken with rice. Another time I got it a few hours after eating a salad and the other time after eating pizza and wings. It was always a cramping pain. Keep in mind I was only eating eggs for breakfast and either grilled chicken, tilapia, and salads for dinner. I ate pizza close to the end of the week.

On the last day of the week I ate some chicken tenders and fries and there was no symptoms until 2 or 3 am in the morning where the pain was unbearable and I had to go to the emergency room. I had an ultrasound done and they found gallstones but the surgeon doesn’t think the pain is because of that. He thinks it’s acid related. I was prescribed famotidine and have been taking it for 2 weeks with no more symptoms. I’ve been able to eat spicy and fatty food with no pain.

2 days ago I went for another post emergency appointment and the doctor mentioned it was probably acid or GERD. I’m waiting for an appointment with my primary care doctor as my surgeon recommended an appointment with her to see where to go from there.

My questions, is it normal to get symptoms 2 weeks after appendicitis surgery? I’ve never had symptoms or problems eating greasy, fatty or spicy foods before. Could this be GERD?

Which setting should I be using when washing clothing that isn’t that dirty or soiled?

I have 2 separate piles of clothing. The first pile is for clothing that I use to work and do things like working out. I work in the garage so it gets pretty hot and I sweat. The second pile is my clothing I use to go out. I normally use this clothing when going to parties, going out to eat or the mall, or when going to the movies. This pile doesn’t really get dirty compared to the other pile. Which Agitation/Spin settings should I be using for both? This is a Whirlpool top loader, if that matters.

Question about lipase test

About 4 weeks ago I went to the emergency room due to appendicitis and had surgery. I had blood work done and my lipase was 29 from a range of 12-53. I had a ct scan and it said the pancreas was unremarkable. Yesterday I went to the er again this time for pain that I feel in the middle area between my belly button and chest. It’s a cramping feeling that seems to happen after eating fatty and spicy foods. This barely started like a week ago. Other than that I have no other symptoms. When I press in that area slightly to the left I can feel some slight pain. My lipase was 77 from a range of 12-53. I had an ultrasound done and they found gallstones but think the pain is due to acid reflux or buildup. My question is should I be worried about the lipase jump?

Cramping/pain feeling in the middle area between the chest and belly button area

Male, Age 32

I had my appendix removed approximately 3 weeks ago. This upcoming Wednesday would be 4 weeks. The first couple of weeks I had no problems food wise. I was mostly eating grilled chicken, eggs, tilapia, salads, and smoothies. At the 2 weeks post op appointment I was given the okay to eat whatever as long as I could tolerate it. I ate pizza and wings twice that week with no problems then that Sunday I ate mango habanero wings and fries and got a pain/cramping feeling in the middle area between the chest and belly button. After that I had the pain a day or two days later before eating some chicken then two days later 3 hours after eating a salad. Today I ate pizza and wings and got the pain again. Should I be concerned or is this just my stomach/gut not use to these foods yet? I have no nausea and there’s no vomiting and no fever and stools seem to appear normal.

Pain/cramping between chest and belly button area

I’m not sure if this is related to me getting my appendix removed 3 weeks ago but I recently started getting a pain and cramping feeling in the middle area between the chest and belly button area. This started on Sunday immediately after eating mango habanero wings and fries. By this point I was given the clear to eat whatever as long as I could tolerate it. The days before I had eaten pizza and buffalo hot wings from Pizza Hut without any issues. The mango habanero wings I ate on Sunday weren’t spicy so it’s weird that I had a reaction to them. On Monday I got the pain but this time before eating some grilled chicken and rice. Yesterday and Tuesday I had no pain. Today I was sitting down and when I got up I got the pain but it didn’t last as long as it did on Sunday and Monday. All I ate today was oatmeal and a salad. Did anyone else get pain and a cramping feeling in that area weeks after their surgery?

Cat won’t eat her prescription food

My cat is on The Hills multicare c/d stress urinary prescription food. She’s been on this food since February or March and it seems like she doesn’t like it. I feed her both the wet and dry food. She gets half of a 5.5 oz can in the morning and the other half for dinner. For Lunch she gets some dry food. Sometimes she’ll eat both her break and lunch with no difficulties but once dinner comes it’s like she’s not hungry. Today she ate her breakfast even though I had to add dry food on top for her to finish it which she doesn’t do all at once. She’ll eat some then go somewhere then come back later and she’ll do that twice or 3 times until she finishes it. I normally have to add dry food on top of her dinner for her to finish it. Today she didn’t eat her lunch and she’s not touching her dinner. Other than she’s fine. No vomiting, she uses the litter box, and drinks water. Any suggestions?
