Beginner Dev discord chat?

Hey everyone! I am currently working on a game called Relive, I am sure some of you have seen my posts recently. I know these are very treacherous waters we are traversing. I wanted to know if there were any people in here that would be keen to join a discord chat where we can all share our trials and tribulations. The main reason for it would be to share advice with eachother if we are all working on something similar at the same time or even if we are stuck and just need some general advice. I think this would be good for people who are in the early to mid stage of their games journey. Obviously to join you would need to have a game in the progress.

When did your game begin to feel real?

I am currently working on my own game (Relive) and wanted to ask my fellow Indie Devs out there, at what point in your first Dev journey did the game really start to feel alive? I am passed the shitty hand drawn components part, I am passed the playtesting with mates and am now in the commissioning art while conducting further playtests but I still feel like the game does not have much life in it yet and wanted to know how far away I am from feeling the rush and getting interest. Was it when you started a go fund me / kick starter / game found campaign? Was it bringing it to local game shops for actual playtesting or was it even during one of the steps that I mentioned? Really curious to see what you all say and apologies for the length of this post.

Next steps

Hey all, i have now taken the next steps with my game. I am currently seeking an artist to work with (that I can afford to pay on my own dollar) the first and second pictures are the original map that I hand drew which limited to me only being able to play my game at home or physically as long as I have the board and the second picture are the original cards that I made in paint and with stock art. The third picture is the most recent update and it is my game on Tabletop simulator which I am still in the process of getting exactly right but it is coming along so I can now play online with people. Does anybody have any advice while I am still in this stage?

Table top simulator

Have recently discovered Table Top Simulator where I have been able to upload the limited amount of art I have into the game and create a somewhat playable version of my game. I will be playtesting with some mates who also have TTS and will hopefully then open it up to the public.

This is Relive, kind of a dungeon crawler, simple reaource management pvp/pve board game. Players can loot buildings, raid other players for resources or rest and recover a small amount of loot each turn. There are boss zombie locations as well which hold a treasure trove of resources.

I am currently seeking an artist to help with the card art work so if you know anybody who may be interested please let me know.

26 Male with roughly 6 years of super. Q1: Is rest actually worth it or is it overhyped? Q2: Am I sitting in an ok spot for someone my age in your opinion?

For context I have been working since I was 14, i had a very minimal amount built up from my first job and then after that I did a lot of cash work.

Im about to nerd out for a minute, I am basically wanting to know if there are any fellow fans of the hotwheels accelleracers movies? Basically just want to see if these movies made an impact on anybody else back in the day and potentially start some kind of perth fan club.

$20k in savings... what should I do with it?

I know $20k is not much in the grand scheme of things, I am a 26 year old male, currently renting, have no outstanding debts, working full time, only catch the bus to work so I spend roughly $50 per week on transport and am able to hopefully put $500 into my savings per week as I also live with partner. I want to know what my best option is in regards to making money from my savings. We are currently only earning around $150k THI so we aren't likely able to buy a house at the moment until we get better jobs so is my best option just to leave the funds in my savings account and let it accrue interest or should I do something else with it?

Small details nobody talks about

Absolutely love the detail in these 2 photos, the arm hairs on Jason and in the other photo I love this girl standing kind of awkwardly which is how alot of normal people act im excited to see this level of realism in the NPCs

Zombie girl card

Another Relive (my board game) art. She obviously will not be very strong in her final form but what do you all think of the colours used? The clouds are green to display the lore that is canon in the Relive world. I ideally will have each zombie and human character in a unique location for their art, this kid is obviously in a playground but apparently I fucking suck at drawing playgrounds hahaha.

Spooky

Forgive me if this is inappropriate but me and my partner always go and look at graves after a funeral to see if there are any cool deaths or cool tombstones, these were some highlights of our most recent venture. There is just something about these that hella give me zombie vibes. In the 3rd photo I had to snap this one as there was a fallen bird in the tombstone and then right next to it at the bottom right is a dead bird. Call me crazy but i think these are sick.

Good theme song?

While playtesting and art are currently being worked kn for my game still with the working title Relive, I am trying to get some side stuff done so I thought it would be a good idea to try and make a theme song for the game. What do you all think? I know I went a bit overboard with sound effects but I like this kind of style.
