Mic deadcat help

I recently got the labstandard lavalier microphone off of amazon, it came with two mics, this shows one with the foam attachment on and the 2 deadcat(I think that’s what they’re called, it’s my first time with any of this stuff) it came with the foam thing attached and the 2 deadcats separate, I know they’re supposed to make audio sound better, but I can’t figure out how to put them on. From looking online it looks like they’re supposed to have an opening, but I can’t find it, and I don’t know if you’re supposed to keep the foam covering on or off but I’ve tried putting it on both ways. Am I doing something wrong? Is labstandard a scam? I paid like 10 bucks so I wouldn’t be too surprised if it’s a scam but I still wanna see.

Copywriting for companies?

I’m 17 and trying to get into writing based jobs. I was thinking I could email companies, asking if I could creating promotional emails, or social media posts for them. I would work on creating a portfolio and learning the skills. Does this sound like a stupid idea, or could it be a good way to make some money and get expirience in the business?

I’m 17 and don’t know what I wanna do with my life

This is going to be kind of a long one, ever since I turned 16 I’ve stressed about what I wanna do with my life. I’ve spend countless hours researching results of degrees and stressing about unemployment rates, even talking to ChatGPT to get advice(I know that’s not good). I hear a lot of people say “you’re only 17 you don’t have to have your life figured out” but I feel like everyone around me has it figured out. My friends know what they wanna do, my girlfriend has it down. But I just don’t.

I don’t have a job yet either, I’ve applied to a bunch of places and gotten a couple interviews but the job market is tough right now, especially where I live. A lot of the jobs, even McDonald’s or some Grocery store jobs, are filled with people that are 20-30. I’m not giving up but I kinda feel like no one wants to hire teenagers anymore as a lot of people I know also don’t have jobs after trying a bunch. But at the same time I feel like I’m letting my family and girlfriend down for not having a job and not making money.

The past week I’ve made a few posts to Reddit asking questions about careers, I’ve thought about getting a degree in computer science but I’ve heard it’s overcrowded and gonna get taken over by AI. My dream job has always been to be an author but I know how hard it is to make a living off of that, and I know writing related degrees are often regretted. I’ve looked into content creation, specifically about true crime as that’s always been something I’m passionate about. But that’s even less realistic than being an author.

I’ve heard a lot of people say do what you enjoy and make money out of it, but I feel like all the things I really enjoy I can’t make money off of, at least not steadily or enough to live comfortably.

I do like a few things, I like watching movies and consider myself a movie buff and have been using letterbox for a couple years and love it. I have almost 600 movies logged. I love creating stories, I’ve done it ever since I was little and I love writing. I love researching missing person cases and unsolved mysteries. But like, what am I gonna do become a movie critic? The salary for those sucks and I don’t even know if I’m cut out for it.

I’ve heard a lot of people say go into engineering but I don’t know. Knowing myself that doesn’t seem like a job I’d enjoy.

So I guess what I’m asking is, what do I do? Because honestly I’m really scared for my future.

I never had a dad, and I don’t know what to do

I (m17) grew up without a father. I have a stepdad now but I don’t think he likes me very much. A lot of times I hear girls talking about how a man without a father always turns out bad, I know it may be stupid but is that true? Sometimes I worry I’m not man enough or something like that and I don’t really know how to get over that feeling.

How do I make a good living?

So I’m a male that just turned 17. I come from a family that is living paycheck to paycheck which Ive been doing my whole life, I’m also sure a lot of people can relate to that. When I get older and have a house with my wife, I don’t wanna live like that. I know there’s nothing you can do to make it for sure you’ll live comfortably, I want to try my best as I don’t really think I spent my teen years doing that and I want to flip it around. I’m planning on going to community college for 2 years and then a university for the last 2 years to get a bachelors in something, that’s my problem though. I don’t know what I want to do. I have a few hobbies/passions but they all seem to be low paying careers or a huge risk, for example I love creative writing and I love writing small horror stories, I like writing little scripts for movies I think of. I’ve liked to do that for a long time, but those careers are very risky and can turn out not so great. I’m open to pretty much any degree besides anything in med(and yes I know that’s like the highest paying one I just refuse to go to school for 12 years). I’ve been looking into maybe doing computer science like coding and stuff, and I just started studying python a few weeks ago, but I don’t even really know if that can get turned into a good career. So what degree would be good? I want to start studying for it now so I can get ahead. I don’t know if there’s any great careers that resolve around story making but if there is I would love to hear about it.

How do viltrumites get from viltrum to earth?

So we know the distance between viltrum and earth is about 65 million light years. And we know viltrumites can’t even travel about the speed of light but to be generous I’ll say they can travel 5 times the speed of light. It takes light a year to travel a light year, so 365/5=73 days per light year. 73x6500000=474,500,000 minutes. 4745000000/365=13,000,000
This means even if viltrumites could travel 5 times the speed of light it would take 13 million years to travel that far. If they could travel 10 or even 30 times the speed of light, it would still take well above a million years. In the show we see mark destroy viltrum and then go back to earth in what seems like a couple weeks? How is that possible?

Any way for a 17 year old to make money online?

As the title says, I just turned 17. I know it’s rough everywhere, but the job market is especially shit where I live (small town in Oregon, USA) So I ask, is there any way to make money online? I’ve applied to a bunch of jobs and haven’t gotten any replies so I just wanna try something new as my family is struggling and could use some extra money. I started emailing companies asking to run a social media account for them, but no replies. There’s no real minimum amount of money that I need to earn, any extra would help. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!
