Trying to decide to go with a different HA

First time HA user. I have mild to moderate sensineural hearing loss (both high and low) and moderate loss in one ear- medium sound range.

I got Phonak HA’s -I90- two months ago.

Help me decide if I should try something else? I’ve been back several times to address issues and audiologist has been, but there are still problems.
At this point they are suggesting workarounds, not fixes.

Is it realistic to want HA’s:

With no Bluetooth connectivity issues? (Connections interfered with in car-basically, I can use hearing aids or CarPlay but not both and audio drops out on Zoom calls a few times a week)

With no “dead air” sound in the background?

Thanks- want to be sure I’m realistic.

Keeping the house afloat when there’s no choice

Looking for advice from those who understand. For context, I am newly partially disabled, my 14-year-old has a PDA profile, and my partner works double and triple shifts to keep us afloat. We’re in survival mode. No support, small budget.

I am just looking to keep us afloat in terms of being hygienic in the house and don’t want my child to feel pressured. We just need to keep the basics from falling apart when no one has the energy/ability:

Food that gets left out and spoils
Laundry sitting in the dryer until it molds
Getting the dog out so there are no accidents

Survival. Anything else is bonus.

When I can, I do it all. Unfortunately, my issues are unpredictable and most days all of us are stretched past capacity. To be clear, I’m not asking my team to look after anything but themself and perhaps something that happens emergently.

How would you address this with your PDA teen how do I avoid overwhelming them?

Any tips welcome.

Do you ever feel less than confident?

I have a degree in teaching and I still felt very insecure when my homeschooled my daughter a few years ago. I may be homeschooling her again and I just am afraid I won’t do her justice. Does anyone feel like this? What do you say to yourself or what do you do in response to this feeling?

She needs these for practice. She is telling me they don’t exist. Does anyone have any leads on where I could get a karaoke version of:

In the Meantime by Helmet

Thank you!

Minimum we need….

If your child was in public school (entering high school) and you knew there was a chance you would be pulling them to homeschool soon, but didn’t know for sure, what’s the minimum information (or supplies) you would want to have on hand? What can wet get it do a little later? Just want to be able to get started with minimal drama.

(If this sounds odd, I’m purposely trying to stick to the facts, but I can give more info if it helps anyone formulate their answer.)

Dead air

Does anyone hear what I can only describe as dead air from time to time- usually when using Bluetooth but some infrequent other times too? Thx

Zoom calls and Phonak HAs

Anyone else have the problem of the audio cutting out completely in by middle of a Zoom? Doesn’t happen every time but where it does it happens after 30-40 minutes.

“We” couples

Obviously, not knocking people who are in love. That’s positive. Would rather they be more connected than less if I had the choice. It’s the desperation I don’t get. Like, do 40 year old couples (each partner in their 40s) “have” to go to the dentist together? Does EVERY errand need to be run together? Can they spend an evening apart with their respective friend groups without breaking down or texting constantly?

How to get Gryphon to “fill out”

I have one with one stem and about 5 leaves at top. Love it- but I see other, bushier plants. What is the difference between how these have been grown? Thanks!

Adjustment period and streaming

Will it be more bothersome in the beginning to listen to media streaming or to listen to it with Bluetooth off (but while wearing the hearing aid)?

Day two with hearing aids and I feel absolutely ill. I have mild hearing loss. Didn’t expect to feel this bad and I’m wondering if it’s in part because I am a heavy streamer- I’ve probably listened to something most of my waking hours today. I have tried to listen both ways. Thank you.

Pride parade

Looking for a pride parade to take my teen to. Smaller might be good or one with less crowds as it’s her first time and could get overstimulated

Hi, my child got upper braces last week. She has always had sensory issues and is having an extreme reaction and we are trying all the typical things to get her comfortable – wax – keeping ahead of pain with pain reliever. She is actually breaking down. Does anyone have experience with this? I have so many questions and I’m even questioning our choice to do this.

▲ 3 r/SPD

They have spd and it’s entering day 5 after putting them on. She is so dysregulated that she’s breaking down intermittently and just can’t get comfortable even with pain meds. Her sensitivity to stimuli is so heightened. I know the adjustment period of longer for someone with spd. How long do we wait before just taking them off? She is so uncomfortable. She has them for cosmetic reasons.
