One and a half meals?

I’m new to omad, been doing afd for a month and shifting to omad. In order to get my protein in and not stuff myself, I’m finding waiting an hour and then having a protein shake allows me to easily get enough protein and not feel stuffed. So it’s more like a 22.5/1.5 as opposed to a 23/1. Anyone do this? Any reason why I shouldn’t? Thank you.

My first diesel, reliability improvements?

** updated list below. ***

Hello everyone. I am new to diesel as an owner, used them for years at work. It’s a 2018 f250. This is a long term project to use for a small camper when I retire. Its stock power is way more than enough so I want to make changes to improve reliability. After countless hours watching videos and reading forums, here is the list I have compiled of things to do.
Original list.

  1. DCR fuel pump conversion,
  2. disaster prevention kit.
  3. upgrade ccv box.
  4. add either FASS or air dog fuel filter kit.
  5. relocate top fuel filter to bottom.
  6. slowly change oil, trans and diff covers to PPE for ease of fluid changes.
  7. change fuel filters and oil every 5000 miles. This will equate to about once a year.
  8. use quality fuel additive.

updated list after replies

  1. DCR conversion
  2. upgrade ccv box
  3. quality fuel additive
  4. optional upgrade engine bay fuel filter housing to metal vs plastic.

I don’t have any plans for deleting, tunes, etc. I’m not familiar enough with those topics to intelligently weigh the pros and cons yet, but I really don’t need to jump in power as stock is plenty. If there are any other mods that can help with reliability and maintenance, please share them with me.

Thank you.

Taillight screw/bolt part #?

Vehicle - 2017 Frontier crew cab 4x4 v6.

Hello, I realized yesterday I was missing one of the screws that holds the left (driver) taillight in. It’s one of two on the side right where the tailgate is. Does anyone have a part number for this? Thank you in advance for your help.

I have a questions about calories

So when first researching ADF on here I saw that the common approach is to eat at, or slightly above, maintenance calories on the days you eat. At the risk of asking for this to be explained to me like I'm 5, is this because you're essentially eating 2 days worth of calories in one day?

So if you eat, say 3000 calories on your eating day, then don't eat on your fasting day, that's like 1500 for each? So you are creating not only a huge deficit but also a long duration of insulin being very low? The benefits being a large calorie deficit and fat stores being used when the insulin is low for such a long time?

Thanks for the clarification.

Road paint splashed on rim

Hello, I got some yellow paint from a road crew splashed on my aluminum rims. How can I get it off without damaging the rims itself? It’s an OEM so I assume aluminum alloy of some sort and has a matte finish. Thanks for the help.

ADF and digestion

So I'm only on my 3rd day of fasting, 6 days of ADF. it's going ok, no major hurdles or anything but my digestion is off. I'm a pretty regular fella, you could set your watch buy when I visit the little ADF'ers room. Now, on the evening of my feast day, it's a battle royal. Gut is not happy, and it revolts for about an hour. Then, all is well. While I don't have a huge timeframe to reference, I am eating the same basic foods I always eat on my eating days so it's not like I suddenly introduced fast food and soda, which I never consumed before. Is this as simple as an adjustment period or is this not normal and I need to change something? Any idea why this is happening? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

First day not eating…..

I’m making a list of all the things I have to do today as to not have any downtime. Hopefully if I stay busy accomplishing things, I won’t focus on eating. My problem isn’t physical, it’s ALL mental. I like eating, it’s enjoyable, but as long as I have a few cups of coffee in the morning and sip some LMNT across the day, I’m physically fine. I need to lose 25 lbs and counting calories each day was driving me nuts. It felt like death by a thousand papercuts and each week was a battle to lose 3/4 of a lb. So I’m going to try this for a week and see how it goes, and if I can lose at least 2-3 lbs, I’ll add 3 weeks on and see how a month goes. I’ve read all the tricks and what not searching here so wish me luck!

Advice on how to deal with this new guy

So for reference, I’ve been attending class for about 7 to 8 months. I’m 48 years old and this is my first time taking kickboxing or muay Thai. We only have about seven or eight people in my class and things have been going pretty well, everyone’s nice and wants to be there, and then we had this new guy show up a couple of weeks ago. He’s in his mid 20s, kind of overweight and gangly and a bit of a talker. That’s all well and good, no big deal but when I spar with him, he’s going too hard despite me telling him to dial it back and he’s constantly trying to instruct me on what to do. Telling me to keep my hands Up and then if I don’t comply, he’ll try and take a shot at my face. I will simply move out of the way and throw a leg kick and then he’ll compliment me and then go back to try instructing me on what to do again. Our instructor is a great guy, but he’s also not the type to try and discourage People. I recognize that I’m still relatively new myself and I’m just getting a grip on the basics so I don’t feel it’s my place to instruct anybody else and I don’t want to be the older guy that treats the younger new guy like he’s not worthy of my attention or he doesn’t deserve being there, etc.. I just need him to shut up and dial it back a little bit so we can learn. what’s happening now is he’s taking the fun out of the class and he’s interrupting my ability to learn. I don’t wanna say anything to the instructor and look like I’m whining, but I can see this is going to become a problem and I’m paying a fair amount of money for these lessons. I’m certain that I can’t be the only one that’s experienced something like this so if anyone has any constructive criticism or helpful advice to try and improve the situation, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you and have a good day.

Won a car but the claimed value is off

What options, if any, do I have if I won a car that the company who gave it away says it’s value is even more than the manufacturers MSRP? I’m talking 25 grand more. I can’t even option it out to the hilt on the manufacturer website to get anywhere close to what this company says it’s worth. They haven’t done anything to it, it’s stock. I find myself potentially paying taxes on 25 grand more than I should. Now I’m still ahead as I needed a car and now I have one, so even paying the additional tax is WAY cheaper than having to buy even a used car so I’m not complaining, just wanting to pay what I owe. Thanks for your advice.

Pardon my newbie question….

But I’ve noticed that when I eat the same foods, same calories (counted, food weighed, etc) but do 2 meals 18/6 vs 3 meals, I lose more weight when fasting. I THINK it has to do with insulin being lower for longer so more fat is released and burned when fasting. Is that accurate or am I missing something? I know calories matter and I need to be in a deficit but the above surprised me a little. Thank you in advance for the assistance.

I have a question about fuel filters

Hello, I’m looking for a 49019-0031 C3j1 fuel filter but the second set of digits, C3J1, is proving elusive. I’ll admit, I don’t know what the second 4 digit combo means and if it’s acceptable to use one that’s slightly different. I can find the first 8 digit fuel filters but not the second set of 4. If it matters, this is for a Kawasaki zero turn mower engine, model #FR691V. Thank you for your assistance.

Squeak from front of 2017 SV 4x4 v6

Hello, I’m trying to help my son locate the source of a squeak in the front of his new to him 2017 frontier SV 4x4. It’s a higher pitched squeak, not a clink and only shows up on bumps. On the highway or smooth roads it’s not present but with each bump you hear a squeak. It’s not super loud but is can be easily heard. I’ve checked the shocks and nothing appears to be leaking, I’m not sure what to look at next.

We’re both new to Nissan but I assume it’s something like a bushing or end link? Any advice is appreciated.

Which brand of mainstream zero turns are easiest to service?

Hello, I hve a hustler zero turn, decent mower reliability wise but I am in need of a larger one so I’m shopping. One thing about my mower that I find mildly annoying is the service. It’s nothing major, just death by a thousand papercuts with little things. Oil drain hose, filter change spills oil, frustrating access to hydro fill plug, etc. again, nothing major just seem unnecessarily frustrating. So before I get another hustler, are there any other brands that are known for easy service and maintenance? Maybe this is how they all are and I need to get over it, but figured I’d ask since I do like to over maintain my equipment. Thanks.

Hello, I’m totally new to Nissan and recently purchased a 2017 frontier SV 4x4, V6. I went to grease the driveline zerks and for the life of me I can’t find any on the back half of the driveline and only one on each end of the front. Am I just blind or is that how it is? Thanks for the help.

Email fiasco moving domain registration from cloudfare to go daddy

Hello, I’ll warn you upfront, I’m not that tech savey. I had my web domain hosted with cloudfare and it expired. I thought I was going a different direction but long story short, things changed and I find myself with godaddy for my domain registration. I had email set up thru them with an alias but it’s long gone and now I can’t get the same alias set up thru godaddy. I use that email for registration purposes, customer service, etc and I can’t access it. I’m not sure how to proceed. Any advice is appreciated.

New to sandbags, new again to soreness. Lol

Holy crap, I’ve not gotten soreness in new places in ages. It’s obvious I needed sandbags in my life long ago. I’m not even lifting that heavy but the movements, the dead weight not on a bar is a whole new level that I’m glad I found. All I’ve done is carries and throws over the shoulder and pick ups and wow, back, shoulders, glutes, arms, shoulders all have some new doms.i assume this is normal but I’m gonna make sure I recover so twice a week to start is the plan. Sound good as a newbie to sandbags?

Newbie to ChatGPT with a question.

Hello, I’m new to AI and chatGPT. I’ve been reading and trying to incorporate some prompt ideas but for some reason, it’s not working. For instance, I’ll create an image, then realize it’s not what I want so I’ll go a different direction entirely, prompt wise, and I get the exact same image. I’ll tell it to delete that image and not use it again and what do I get? The exact same image. I’ll tell it to not use the color red and I get red. I’ll tell it to delete some words in an image and it adds them. Then, all of the sudden, I’ll get a masterpiece of an image, and when I try to fine tune it, it goes from unlimited brain cells to three. I have to assume the problem is me and AI is not this stupid but I’m using basic text, nothing fancy and it’s a train wreck. I’m using the most current ChatGPT pro (paid) and I’ve tried to copy and paste prompts other show working on YouTube and I get nothing like what they do. I don’t have any custom commands set. What is going on here and how do I fix it? Thanks for the help.

Weird benefits 4 weeks into fasting.

Hello, I’m new to fasting, just jumped into 18/6 by skipping breakfast, black coffee only. What I like is that the two meals I do eat are larger so I’m not hungry all the time by eating more frequent smaller meals. I was always going to bed hungry counting calories but with a larger dinner, I’m golden. Makes the next morning easier as well.

One drawback that I think is becoming a positive is no matter what I eat, even if it’s just protein for lunch, I get VERY tired about 30-45 minutes after I eat. I work shift work so I’ve had insomnia and sleep problems for years. I’m getting more power naps after my big lunch and I’m sleeping better at night. It’s weird. I’m still trying to figure out why a lower or no carb meal feels like I just ate a huge plate of pancakes from a sleepy perspective, but the naps really help me the rest of the day. So for my weird situation, it’s somewhat of a positive.

To those of you more experienced fasters , is any of this problematic? Could it lead to issues of some sort I’m not aware of? My main goal is to lose fat and I’m losing about 3/4-1.25 lbs each week and it feels sustainable. Thanks for the feedback.

Hello everyone, first time frontier owner. A 2017.5 frontier sv, 93,000 miles. I’m a Toyota guy but don’t like the direction Toyota is going, so I looked into Nissan and found a deal I couldn’t pass up. I’m planning my initial wave of maintenance and would appreciate your assistance in ensuring I get it right.

  1. ATF - I assume OEM fluid is best or can I use the Valvoline max life I use in my Toyotas? I plan to do two drain and fills a few days apart with a couple hundred miles driven. I always do drain and fills every 25k on every vehicle and this will be the same.
  2. rear diff - Valvoline?
  3. Spark plugs - NGK
  4. Transfer case fluid - Valvoline?
  5. PCV valve - OEM?
  6. Air filter - wix?
  7. Cabin air filter - wix?
  8. rear diff breather mod - is there a preferred “kit”?
  9. seam foam in the gas tank
  10. sea foam in oil before oil change?
  11. oil change - Valvoline restore and protect 5w30 and any decent filter
  12. coolant - drain and fill twice a few hundred miles apart. What brand is best?
  13. brake fluid - I’ve always done a reservoir drain and fill with my extractor pump. Do that once a year and has served me well.
  14. clean throttle body
  15. check brakes/rotors

Now I’ve seen some comments on here when searching about a heater hose that can be changed to metal but I’m not finding more details on that.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
