Was Fix-It Felix Jr. a sequel?

It's said in the movie that Felix got his hammer from his father. And there have been multiple cases in real life of arcade games having sequels where you play as the son of the character from the first game. So it's likely that Fix-It Felix Jr. was a sequel to an earlier game simply called "Fix-It Felix".

And odd coincidence

It's an interesting coincidence that Power Guy just released the Mega Man 9 video. Why do I say this? Because I happen to be playing through the Mega Man series and am just about to beat 9 myself.

[Mobile][Mid-2010's] Searching for a specific cooking game

I'm searching for a cooking game. The gameplay was similar to Cooking Mama, but there were multiple different chefs for different kinds of meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, etc.) One of the few things I remember about the game is that, if you performed poorly, the lunch chef would say "I've trained monkeys to do better than that."

Noticed something interesting.

Earlier today, I was looking through the concept art for Mega Man 3 in the Legacy Collection when I noticed an enemy sketch that looked extremely similar to the Press Don from Mega Man 11. Do you think this was a coincidence, or did they actually base the Press Don off that unused enemy?

Assist trophy idea #1: Magda

Magda, A.K.A. Flowerblight Ganon, is an NPC from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. As an assist trophy, she would flinch if attacked but would not be able to be KO'd.

  • As Magda spawns from an assist trophy, several patches of flowers will appear in random spots around the stage.
  • If any fighter steps on a flower patch, even the one who spawned Magda in, Magda will fume and stomp her feet in anger.
  • If Magda is angered three times by the same fighter, she will warp to them and attack them in a cartoon-style fight cloud, dealing many hits of damage that total to 30%. Afterwards, Magda's anger will reset until she's angered three times again.
  • If a fire, explosion, or blade attack hits one of the flower patches, it will burn or cut the flowers depending on which one it was. This will cause Magda to enter rage mode immediately. Any other attack will cause Magda to fume as normal.
  • One of the flower patches will have a Hearty Radish in it, which can be grabbed and eaten like a food item and will heal 5% of damage.
  • After about 45 seconds, Magda will wave goodbye, after which she and all the flower patches will despawn.

What if Magikarp was in Smash?

No, I'm not kidding.

Magikarp would have a weight of 83, putting it at the top of the featherweight class. It would have two jumps and no additional movement options. Also, I should mention that Magikarp, as a fighter, would not be flopping around like in the Pokémon games. It would appear to be swimming just above the ground.

  • Gimmick: Magikarp, being a fish, would be able to float indefinitely in water in stages that have it. It would move much faster in water than on land, and could even attack while swimming.
  • Jab: Magikarp would do a weak tail-slap in front of itself.
  • Dash attack: Magikarp would throw itself forward through the air to collide with foes.
  • Tilt attacks: Magikarp spins laterally, angling itself in the appropriate direction depending on which tilt is used.
  • Neutral air: Magikarp flails around wildly, dealing several weak hits.
  • Forward air: Magikarp does a front-flip.
  • Back air: Magikarp does a backflip.
  • Up air: Magikarp does a tail-slap upwards.
  • Down air: Magikarp drops straight down face-first, with a brief chance to spike at the start of the move.
  • Forward smash: Magikarp would headbutt the foe. This move would have very poor range.
  • Up smash: Magikarp would briefly extend its dorsal fin upwards. This move would function much like Bowser's up smash, but would be much weaker.
  • Down smash: Magikarp would jump up and slam hard into the ground, making a tiny water wave on either side of itself.
  • Grab: Magikarp would grab the only way it can: with its mouth.
  • Pummel: Magikarp would pummel by wiggling against the foe.
  • Up throw: Magikarp would toss the foe into the air and headbutt them away.
  • Forward throw: Magikarp would throw the foe forward, shooting a bit of water from its mouth at them.
  • Back throw: Magikarp would slap the foe backward with its tail.
  • Down throw: Magikarp would toss the foe downwards and flop on top of them several times, bouncing them away.
  • Neutral special: Magikarp would use Dragon Rage. It would spit out a purple fireball that would always do exactly 8% of damage, no matter what.
  • Up special: Magikarp would use Splash, launching itself high into the air. This move would deal no damage, but would send Magikarp extremely high.
  • Side special: Magikarp would use Tackle, rushing forward to slam into foes. It would send Magikarp straight forward, unlike the dash attack.
  • Down special: Magikarp would use Flail, thrashing around violently to deal several quick hits of damage. The move would deal more damage the higher Magikarp's damage is.
  • Final Smash: For Magikarp's Final Smash, it would first leap into the air before slamming down HARD, catching up to 3 foes. A cutscene would then play where Magikarp is shown Dynamaxing before flopping onto the foes, dealing huge damage. The cutscene then ends, sending the foes flying.

Overall, most of Magikarp's attacks would be very quick to come out, but very poor in terms of power and range. However, these attacks are not all that Magikarp would have to offer. This leads us into its MAIN gimmick...

Gimmick: Magikarp would have another meter right under where its Final Smash meter would be. This meter would fill up a little each time Magikarp deals or takes damage. When it fills completely, which would happen when Magikarp has dealt and taken around 120% of damage in total, Magikarp will begin to glow white and gain heavy super armor. If 3 seconds pass or the B button is pressed, the glow will go away, the meter will empty, and nothing else will happen, though the meter will still gradually fill up again. However, if the A button is pressed instead, the glow will envelop Magikarp fully, and it will evolve into Gyarados. Once Magikarp has evolved into Gyarados, it will remain a Gyarados for the rest of the match. Gyarados would keep Magikarp's swimming gimmick, but would have a moveset completely different from Magikarp's. Gyarados would be significantly slower than Magikarp and would have a weight of 150, putting it at the top of the super heavyweight class and making it the heaviest character in the whole game. Being a flying-type, Gyarados would have FIVE jumps, though it would have no additional movement options.

  • Jab: Gyarados would do a tail-slap like Magikarp, but it would be slower and more powerful.
  • Dash attack: Gyarados would straighten its body and do a barrel roll, dealing multi-hitting damage.
  • Up tilt: Gyarados would swing its head upwards to deal damage.
  • Side tilt: Gyarados would do a large bite forward.
  • Down tilt: Gyarados would slam its head downward
  • Neutral air: Gyarados would make a small storm around itself to deal rapid multi-hitting damage.
  • Forward air: Gyarados would breathe fire in front of itself.
  • Back air: Gyarados would whip its tail around to deal multi-hitting damage.
  • Up air: Gyarados would swing its tail upwards.
  • Down air: Gyarados would swing its tail downwards.
  • Bonus: If the player presses the four directions in turn while it's in the air, Gyarados will briefly gain super armor as it does a backflip. This is in reference to Mantine Surfing in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon, where doing that sequence of inputs would perform a move called "Over the Gyarados".
  • Forward smash: Gyarados would use Roar. This would actually deal no damage, but would deal huge knockback
  • Up smash: Gyarados would smack the foe with its head before following up with a powerful Crunch attack.
  • Down smash: Gyarados would use Stone Edge, making a large rock pop up from the ground on either side of it.
  • Grab: Gyarados would grab its foe using its powerful jaws.
  • Pummel: Gyarados would bite down hard on the foe to pummel.
  • Up throw: Gyarados would simply toss the foe upwards.
  • Forward throw: Gyarados would toss the foe forward and follow up by using Hydro Pump.
  • Back throw: Gyarados would use Dragon Tail to send the foe flying backwards.
  • Down throw: Gyarados would slam the foe hard into the ground, burying them.
  • Neutral special: Gyarados would use Hyper Beam. It would rear back and unleash a powerful laser from its mouth that would deal huge damage to those caught in it. However, this move would have a lot of end-lag, just like how in the Pokémon games, the user of Hyper Beam must rest a turn afterward.
  • Up special: Gyarados would use Bounce, leaping very high into the air before coming crashing down. It would deal damage only on the way down, but would be briefly intangible at the peak of the jump.
  • Side special: Gyarados would use Twister. It would summon a small tornado that would travel forward a short distance, dealing several rapid, weak hits to those caught in it.
  • Down special: Gyarados would use Thrash. It would flail around violently as long as the button is held, for up to 4 seconds. Those caught in the move would take several powerful hits of damage. However, should Gyarados thrash around for the full 4 seconds, it will become dizzy once the move ends.
  • Final Smash: Gyarados would Mega Evolve and swing its tail forward, catching up to 3 foes. Anyone caught will be pulled into a cutscene where a group of Mega Gyarados use Hurricane, creating a huge storm that would suck the trapped foes in and deal massive multi-hitting damage, launching the foes away once the cutscene ends.

Overall, Gyarados' attacks would generally be much stronger and slower than Magikarp's, with longer range. This moveset presents the player with an interesting choice. The player COULD choose to evolve Magikarp into a powerful Gyarados, however there are times when a faster, smaller character would be better suited.

Alternate colors:

  • Classic red Magikarp, would evolve into the classic blue Gyarados
  • Golden (shiny) Magikarp, would evolve into a red Gyarados
  • Pink Two-Tone Magikarp, would evolve into a magenta Gyarados
  • Gray Diamonds Magikarp, would evolve into a blue-gray Gyarados
  • Purple Patches Magikarp, would evolve into a violet Gyarados
  • Apricot Stripes Magikarp, would evolve into an orange Gyarados
  • Brown Zebra Magikarp, would evolve into a brown Gyarados
  • Black Mask Magikarp, would evolve into a black Gyarados

Most of Magikarp's alternate colors would come from Pokemon: Magikarp Jump.

Taunts (Magikarp):

  1. Magikarp would jump up and wiggle in the air.
  2. Magikarp would turn its head and say "Karp karp!"
  3. Magikarp would swim in a circle.

Taunts (Gyarados):

  1. Gyarados would turn its head towards the sky and roar.
  2. Gyarados would turn its head towards the camera and growl as smoke billows from its mouth.
  3. Gyarados would pull a boulder from the ground and crush it in its jaws.

Victory animations (Magikarp):

  1. Would show Magikarp flopping around before it briefly pauses in midair as the name is shown onscreen. It would then continue to flop.
  2. Would show Magikarp leaping gracefully over the top of a waterfall before circling happily in the water.
  3. Would show a Pokemon Trainer fishing. They would then reel in Magikarp, which would collide with them and knock them over.

Victory animations (Gyarados):

  1. Would show a (thankfully empty) boat floating in the water before Gyarados emerges from below, smashing it.
  2. Would show Gyarados roaring in triumph while at the center of a whirlpool.
  3. Would show Magikarp flopping mindlessly before evolving into Gyarados.

What if Shy Guy was in Smash?

Shy Guy would have a weight of 80, making him an above-average featherweight character. He would have two jumps and no additional movement options.

Jab: Shy Guy would have a 2-hit jab where he would simply do a back-and-forth slap. This would lead into a rapid-jab with the Shy Guy flailing his arms.

Dash attack: Shy Guy would begin to roll. This roll would have decent range and would stop upon hitting a fighter.

Forward tilt: Shy Guy would somersault forward.

Up tilt: Same as the forward tilt, but at a higher angle.

Down tilt: Shy Guy would trip over his own feet and fall on his face.

Neutral air: Shy Guy would swing a Ball N' Chain around himself once.

Forward air: Shy Guy would fire a slingshot forward. It would function nearly identically to Villager's forward air, but the projectile would be faster.

Back air: Shy Guy would do a backflip to hit behind himself.

Up air: Shy Guy would shake a pair of maracas above himself, dealing several weak hits.

Down air: Shy Guy would drop a small bomb straight downwards. It would be weaker than Mr. Game & Watch's f-air bomb, but would fall much further.

Grab: Shy Guy would grab with both arms. His grab would be very short ranged, as his arms are very stubby.

Pummel: Shy Guy would headbutt the foe.

Up throw: Shy Guy would smack the foe away with a tennis racket.

Forward throw: Shy Guy would hit the foe with a baseball bat, launching them forward.

Back throw: Shy Guy would whack the foe backwards with a golf club.

Down throw: Shy Guy would jump on the foe several times before launching them away.

Forward smash: Shy Guy would swing a tennis racket. It would be able to reflect projectiles like Ness' bat, and would have a wider hitbox, but would deal less damage.

Up smash: Shy Guy would jab a spear straight upwards. The spear would sweetspot right at the tip.

Down smash: Shy Guy would burst into flames, dealing several rapid hits of damage. The flames would be extremely powerful but have poor horizontal range.

Neutral special: Shy Guy would turn into a Snifit and fire a projectile forward. The projectile could be charged for greater speed and power.

Up special: Shy Guy turns into a Fly Guy, sprouting a propeller on his head and rising quickly upwards. The propellor deals minor damage to foes, and Shy Guy can move left and right as he ascends.

Side special: Shy Guy pulls back a large slingshot in the direction the special is inputted into. The longer the special is held, the more the slingshot will be pulled back. Once released, the slingshot will fire a large, powerful spikeball into the opposite direction to which the slingshot was pulled.

Down special: Shy Guy casts Doom Reverb, sending out a music-note projectile to either side. The notes deal no damage, but anyone hit will have their special moves disabled for a short time. This move has a 15-second cooldown once used.

Gimmick: Shy Guy can be stood upon. If a foe presses the grab button while standing on him, they will attempt to pick him up and hold him over their head. Pressing any button at this point will have the foe toss Shy Guy forward a fixed distance. If Shy Guy hits a foe, both he and said foe will be dealt a small amount of damage before Shy Guy gets up again.

Final Smash: Shy Guy charges forward, catching a single foe. Whoever's hit will be pulled into the Final Smash. A cutscene will play where the foe will be in Port Prisma from Paper Mario: Color Splash. Suddenly, a bunch of Slurp Guys will come and begin draining the foe of color, dealing rapid damage as they do. At the same time, Shy Guy will be healed by the same amount. Should the foe go over 100% during the Final Smash, they will be instantly KO'd once the cutscene ends.

Costumes:

  1. Classic red Shy Guy
  2. Pink Shy Guy
  3. Yellow Shy Guy
  4. Green Shy Guy
  5. Magenta Shy Guy
  6. Blue Shy Guy
  7. Black Shy Guy
  8. Camouflage Shy Guy (Shy Ranger)

Taunts:

  1. Shy Guy waves and says "Hello!"
  2. Shy Guy does a little dance with some odd tribal music.
  3. Shy Guy jumps up and down a few times while making his signature vocalizations.

Victory animations:

  1. Shy Guy drives up in a Standard Kart before hopping out and looking at the camera.
  2. Shy Guy runs onscreen, trips, then gets back up sheepishly.
  3. A horde of Shy Guys runs onscreen, with the one at the front being the one that the player was controlling.

Tell me what you guys think in the comments!
