REVIEW: frivole ring

finally got to wear this frivole ring with my black fur and it's giving exactly what i wanted it to give!

the contrast between the diamond flower and the smooth one is so good, adds texture without being too much. disclaimer btw, posting this gets me a partial refund from u/lilijewels so factor that in

quality 9/10, the polish on the plain flower is so smooth it almost looks liquid. setting on the pavé side is even, no gaps. fit is comfortable even tho it's a double flower spanning two fingers

communication 9/10, timeline was abt 4 weeks start to finish, communication was smooth the whole way thru. replies came quickly and there wasn't much back and forth needed

overall obsessed, 10/10 would wear again

Indirect lighting usage experience

I spend at least eight or nine hours a day in front of a computer, and by the evening my eyes often feel tired and strained. I used to think the problem was my monitor. I adjusted the brightness, changed the color temperature, and even replaced my monitor arm, but none of those changes really helped.

I had been using a very ordinary desk lamp. It was bright enough, and my desk was well lit. But looking back, the real problem was probably the way the whole room was lit. The area directly under the lamp was very bright, while the surrounding space was much darker, especially at night. My eyes were constantly moving between the screen, the desk, and the rest of the room, and the contrast between bright and dark areas was always there.

Later, I switched to indirect lighting. I did not expect the difference to be this big. At first glance, the lamp is quite small and does not look as bright as a traditional desk lamp. Instead of shining directly onto the desk, it points light toward the ceiling and lets the light reflect back into the room. After using it for a while, I found myself noticing the lamp less and less while working. Before, I would always notice shadows on the desk or be aware of the lamp in my peripheral vision. Now the brightness around my desk, keyboard, and monitor is much more balanced. There are no overly bright spots and no obviously dark areas. The biggest difference is that when I work at night, my monitor is no longer the only light source in the room.

A lot of the time, visual comfort is not about how bright the light is. It is about how evenly the light is distributed. It is similar to how a cloudy day is not as bright as direct sunlight, but many people find it more comfortable because the light is spread more evenly and there is less contrast.

The indirect lighting lamp I use also has a fairly high CRI. I normally do not pay much attention to technical specs like that, but in practice the colors do look more natural. They do not have that slightly gray or overly cool look. The same image also looks more consistent during the day and at night than it did before.

Strictly speaking, indirect lighting is not a traditional desk lamp. Its biggest benefit is not making the desk brighter. It is making the overall lighting in the room more comfortable.

For me, it has become one of the things I would consider BIFL.

Review: loop necklace from Lili

first rep purchase so I wanted to play it safe and went with something relatively understated. this loop flower pendant. took about five weeks from first message to delivery.

really happy with how it came out. the petal loop detail looks delicate but has enough presence to actually be noticed, and the stone quality irl is better than photos suggest.

grading: communication 9/10 · accuracy 9.5/10 · stones 9/10 · overall 9/10

good starting point for someone new to this world and not ready to commit to something big yet. really satisfied with it!

Is RGB MiniLED the most interesting big screen TV tech right now?

I’ve been reading more about RGB MiniLED recently, and it feels like one of the more interesting directions for large TVs, especially for home theater setups.
Most current MiniLED TVs still use a white or blue based backlight, then rely on filters or quantum dots to produce color. RGB MiniLED is different because it uses separate red, green, and blue light sources in the backlight itself. In theory, that should help with color volume, brightness, and HDR scenes where normal MiniLED can sometimes start to look a little washed out when the panel is pushed hard.
That part seems especially relevant once you get into 85” to 100” screens. At those sizes, OLED gets expensive fast, and long term use becomes a bigger question too. Burn in, panel aging, and heat are still things I’d think about for a main living room TV that gets used for movies, sports, gaming, and random daily content. And Micro LED is still nowhere near realistic for most homes. RGB MiniLED feels like it could sit in the middle, giving people a very large screen with stronger color and brightness without jumping into truly absurd pricing.
I’ve noticed Hisense has released UR8 and UR9, and the reviews seem pretty possitive, and Sony seems to be moving in a similar direction too.
For people building or upgrading a home theater, do you think RGB MiniLED is actually the next serious step for big screen TVs, or is it more of a temporary bridge until Micro LED eventually becomes realistic?

Goldy?

Need some advice because I'm starting to panic a little

Last month I placed an order with Mr Goldy for a bracelet and already paid the deposit. The order itself seems to be progressing normally so far (I'm waiting for the CAD now) The problem is that while searching for updates and reviews, I came across several posts/comments suggesting that Goldy may have been arrested or is somehow no longer operating directly...???

Now I'm not sure how seriously to take those posts and comments. My order hasn't shown any obvious red flags yet, but I'm wondering if I should be trying to get my deposit back before things potentially get worse.. Has anyone else placed an order with him recently? Are you still receiving updates, CADs, QC photos, etc. as normal?

Is integrated graphics finally good enough for CS2 and Apex in 2026?

Thinking about downsizing from my tower for a while now. Stumbled on a Geekom A9 Max 2026 with the ryzen AI 9 hx470 and radeon 890M and honestly the specs look way better than I expected from an iGpu. my main question is whether it holds up for CS2 and Apex at 1080p, not looking for max settings, just something smooth and playable. Has anyone gone the mini PC route for gaming and how's the experience been?

Buccellatti

Never really understood the travel ring concept until this trip. Lower stakes means you actually reach for the fun stuff, I would never bring anything precious on a trip but this buccellati? Threw it in my bag without a second thought. First time I've ever worn something this ornate daily and it felt so freeing.

Travel ring era is real and I'm never going back. GL
