I’m a hospice volunteer and a newer patient of mine loves knitting, so we’ve started working on our own projects together while I visit.
This has inspired me to make a dedicated bag for my visiting days. So far, I have my project, cards, and a journal. I’ll also add the basics: snacks, hand sanitizer, etc.
This might be specific, but I’m wondering if anyone else something like this? Any suggestions of things that may be nice to have? ❤️
Hello! I’m a bereavement therapist in Colorado, so a little bit out of my element in this sub. I am hoping this communities expertise can help me, as I’m having a really difficult time finding a solid answer.
I support dying patients, loved ones, and caregivers. I want to start offering cranial “massages” (ie gentle head + ear rubbing, warm eye compress, hair play) for relaxation purposes, similar to a head spa without water.
I obviously want to do this safely and legally, but am not trying to go through a fully comprehensive certification. I’m definitely down for a course or less intensive program, if they exist. Can anyone advise options for me to go about this? TIA! ❤️
TLDR: Mass city cemetery database errors. How to help?
Hello! I’m new to volunteering and seeking advice. My city has a well-organized parks system with two main cemeteries sharing an online grave location system, one L and one XL.
I usually fulfill requests at the XL cemetery, which has 0 pending right now. I went to the L cemetery with 60+ pending requests 😬 and found that most of the requested memorial headstones are missing. Find a Grave and the city database have matching plot numbers, but the area is sparse where it shouldn’t be. I checked for ~20 myself today and 50+ of the pending requests are from 2024, which is very unusual for the area.
I’ve contacted the cemetery department and am hoping they loop back, but I’m wondering if there’s anything obvious I could be missing. The dates range from the early 1900s to recent, and I can’t find history of disasters or renovations.
Has anyone experienced this? Any thoughts would be great. Even if somehow none of the pending requests are marked, what’s the best way to resolve them? I’d love to archive these memorials 🖤😵💫
Update: The parks department responded that there had been damage years ago and it impacted the database. They’re apparently working on some restoration and will be putting a message on the page. I’m going to upload the GPS coordinates + pictures of the surrounding area where stones used to be.

Trying to write this clearly in the midst of a chaotic mind 😞 I’ve been in this toxic relationship with a narc for a few years. I’ve attempted separation 3x and have been manipulated back. I know that I haven’t done the “right” things and understand why I’m in this situation. All of that to say -
I am being financially abused. They have barely contributed in years and the can of reasons keeps being kicked down the road. If I bring up money (or anything, really), they have a panic attack and blame PTSD, depression, other people, etc. Today, they threw in “and I’ve been sui ci dal, if you even care.” They refuse to talk to someone or seek treatment because “nothing works.”
I feel so stuck with them relying solely on me, even though I never ever consented to it. Logically, I obviously know that I’m not responsible for their wellness and I can’t force them into anything.
I’m not even sure what I’m looking for by writing this. A dose of reality, maybe?

At the risk of sounding dorky - I have a crush on a podcast host 😅 It’s a medium-sized fan base (~10k reviews) on a fairly niche topic that we’re both industry experts in. I’m not a social media person at all and have no presence or anything where she would come across me like that. I’m recently acknowledging my codependency and am curious about CoDA meetings. I’m not religious at all and have had a not great experience with ACA (adult children of alcoholics, an AA sector).
Does anyone have thoughts or suggestions about approaching these meetings? Attend/avoid? I’ll appreciate all insights.
I recently did a facilitated investigation at The Stanley Hotel and absolutely LOVED it! The hosts were engaging and respectful, we had a lot of fun and got to use a variety of equipment.
For anyone who has done them, any recs for places I should check out? Looking specifically for a group that plans and provides the equipment 🙂👻 Anywhere is great, I’m happy to travel.
