37 weeks & miserable

It’s 3am; I have been up since midnight and I’m so over being pregnant.

I’m sick with a viral infection. My body aches from the infection AND the pregnancy; the sciatica, the back pain, the rib pain, the ligament pain from coughing, the runny nose, the rhinitis. I can’t sleep, no position is comfortable. She constantly dances in the night which keeps me up, and so does the pressure of her sitting on my bladder making me pee every 3 hours

Acid reflux has me choking in the night. The mental strain of the acid reflux food avoidance, and GD diet - I haven’t gained a single pound in 10 weeks because I’m hardly eating. What is there to eat? No tomatoes, no citrus, no sugar or sweet cravings, limited fruits, limited carbs.

I can’t sit, walk, sleep comfortably. I get period-like cramps in the nights. Baby has been engaged for 4 weeks now and my back is paying the price for it, why does she feel sooo heavy!!!

I’m being induced at exactly 39 weeks which is keeping me sane, but to say it’s dragging on is a severe understatement.

I’m praying so much that postpartum is easier because I am utterly miserable

Anyone else planning on binging once they give birth?

Unhealthy mindset, I know, but damn this has been tough.

I’ve been diet controlled for almost 10 weeks and I’ve lost the will at this point lmao - I’m due in 3 weeks time and it’s going sooo slooow.

It’s been so hard controlling my numbers with diet and medication so it’ll be so relieving to just eat a piece of bread or some potatoes without worrying. I haven’t eaten a single biscuit, chocolate, cake, soda etc in the last 10 weeks because even normal food will spike me

You bet yo ass I’ll be scoffing all sorts of ultra processed crap down my gob after the placenta has been eradicated. Is that bad?!

AIO? Baby is due next month and husband isn’t prioritising the house

Husband lost his job two weeks ago and we are also expecting our first baby in 3 weeks’ time. He has been attending interviews in the last week where some have been successful in offering him a job.

The plan is that he will start the new job after a few weeks upon the baby’s arrival so we can spend time together as a new family - all good and well.

In the meantime, husband has spent a bit of time lovingly painting and putting together the furniture for the nursery and it’s all complete. However, in the last few weeks, the remaining of the house is riddled with dust, dirt, mud and debris. It needs a deep clean. Most importantly, the living room hasn’t been usable for five weeks since husband decided to repair and plaster a part of the ceiling which means a load of dust from sanding remains throughout the whole room. It really should have been done in a week and be seems to be procrastinating on it. Also, he has told me he wants to drill a few shelves in the main bedroom where the baby will sleep in the bassinet and that is also not done. Logically, I don’t want to put the bassinet up until that’s complete because of the dust.

I have asked and hinted at my husband many times if he could please sort the living room and bedroom shelves since I can then focus on cleaning the house and putting together the remaining bits, especially since those will be the places that I will spend most of my time with the baby during recovery. Instead of prioritising this, he has instead decided to partake in his metal refining hobby and re-plant the entire front yard, which he’ll likely spend the next week doing.

Not to mention, I asked husband several times over the last week whether there was any more boxes, scrap or debris that needed to be taken to the dump since I’d like to get my car deep cleaned and the car seat installed after all that. Hubby said no. I managed to get my car cleaned 2 days ago and husband decided to re-plant the front yard which means a ton of soil and plants needs to be taken to the dump, and yesterday he has asked me if I can take it in my car!!

I confronted my husband about all this and whilst it’s nice that he’s keeping himself busy, it has resulted in an argument where husband has told me I’m ungrateful and spoilt since he has already done so much. I’m incredibly irritated at his response because I don’t care about what he gets up to but rather I wish he would prioritise the things needed to be done for the baby. I understand he may be stressed out with his work situation but I told him not to worry

We haven’t spoken in a few hours because I’d prefer to keep my distance but I can’t help but wonder if I’m overreacting?

Car seat isofix base - won’t go into the car seat

I purchased a maxi cosi isofix set with the base and car seat, and everytime I pull the yellow fixings out to push it into the seat, it doesn’t click in; it simply goes back into the base.

I have tried grounding the base to the floor and pushing it in after that but still no success.

I’m due in 2 weeks for my first newborn and getting really frustrated - can anyone please help?

Thank you

Breakfast meal for dinner

I don’t eat pork, so I’ve had to improvise on the traditional English breakfast:

Hash browns, beef sausages, sourdough toast, fried eggs, grilled mushrooms, halloumi, baked beans, avocado & salad

What’s the etiquette surrounding parent & child parking?

I’m 8.5 months pregnant and parked up in a parent and child bay since I need extra space to get out and can’t walk much.

All spaces were taken except one; I took the last one. The woman parked adjacent to me in the parent and child bay had a newborn strapped to her chest and kept giving me dirty looks. Eventually, after many glances back, I asked her if everything was okay.

She told me I shouldn’t be parking in that space since it’s for people with children. I told her I do have a child, she’s in my belly. I’m 3 weeks away from giving birth!

Now I’m thinking if I’m eligible for that space and feel bad since there had only been one left? What would you do?

My 5-year old kitty is making this weird noise - what is it?

Is she coughing? I’m going to get her to the vets soon but is there anything I should be immediately concerned about?

Blueberry plant isn’t growing or flowering and the leaves are red

I have watered it every couple days and have provided nitrogen and sulphur feeds.

The plant is outdoors and the weather is roughly 15°C - 20°C with plenty of U.K. sunlight. The soil is compost.

Some leaves are red, some are turning brown, and others are being eaten by bugs

How to remove brown dead leaves and get it to grow again?

Aloe is drooping and I’m aware it needs more light and ideally remove the clay pebbles. But how can I safely remove the cut leaves to allow for healthier growth? It stopped growing and the tips are turning brown

I water the plant every 2-3 weeks, no drainage holes

Hey All,

I’m 34w+ 4 and I have been tracking since my diagnosis 5 weeks ago. I have struggled to control my numbers throughout and have been consistent with the diet. I have been put on the max dose of Metformin and my numbers are much better but will still spike with rice, potatoes, bread.. most days, I’ll eat the same safe meal and I’ll end up spiking eventually days later.

I’ve cut out all refined sugars and reduced my carb intake roughly to 40g per meal. Because of the restrictions and numbers, I’ve lost my appetite; I hardly snack and only eat when I feel starving and with low energy.

For the last few weeks, I had not put on a single pound. But this week, I appeared to have lost two pounds

Has anyone else experienced similar?

Very stupid question but I’m a ftm

When the baby isn’t being fed, sleeping, or playing, where do you put the baby?

I’ve bought a bouncer, a play pen and a chest carrier - do I just lay the baby on the floor?
