They talk as if their distros were perfect and blah, blah, blah. "I love that my favorite company uses me as a guinea pig", oh, please. Love whatever Linux distro you want, but judge the others with respect, or at the very least, point out actual issues.

When I saw that FreeBSD 15.1 had been released, I was excited to test it on my machine. It’s been a challenge making FreeBSD my daily driver, but I always enjoy testing it out.
However, for some reason, the installer freezes when I try to configure the Wi-Fi. The FreeBSD live boot runs fine, but the installer freezes and stops responding completely...
I don't have the patience right now to figure out the cause and report the bug; I just want to know if this issue has already been reported.
My motherboard is an ASUS TUF-Gaming B550M-Plus [Wi-Fi]; using Ethernet requires installing a Realtek driver post-installation, but the Wi-Fi driver is already included in the FreeBSD ISO.
Note: This bug only occurred for me on FreeBSD 15.1; it never happened on 15.0 or 14.4.
Edit: I tried installing FreeBSD 15.1 again and chose manual network configuration, and it froze the moment I confirmed I wanted to use DHCP.
[Solved], if I had known the dependency name was gcc-gfortran and not libgfortran, I would have installed it sooner, lol. Thanks to whoever commented with the correct name :)
Hello, I'm new to Slackware, and I'm here to learn how to use it. I've used others "exotic" Linux distributions, such as Arch, Void, NixOS, Chimera Linux... and I've also used FreeBSD, which isn't Linux, but from what I understand, Slackware is similar to BSDs.
I understand how Slackware manages packages... I mean, how i manage packages (lol). I've read about and used pkgtools, sbopkg, sqg, slackpkg/slackpkg+.
But I'm having a problem with Spectacle. Even though it comes pre-installed on Slackware Current Live, it won't run. Running spectacle in the terminal returns spectacle: error while loading shared libraries: libgfortran.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. So, I obviously understand that a dependency is missing, and the problem is I don't know where to download it...
I couldn't find it with sbopkg or slackpkg, and searching on Google I only found it as an .rpm file. Where can I find the source code for libgfortran.so.5 to download its tarball, check its dependencies, compile, and install it?
My girlfriend decided to use Linux, and since I trust Solus a lot, I installed Solus with KDE Plasma for her.

I already knew that Solseek could install applications and drivers for HP printers, and that really made the process easier, but the problem started when I launched `hp-setup` to configure the printer...

Even though Solus perfectly detected the printer (HP Laser 107) via USB, and it was even possible to see the printer model in the Printers section of System Settings, `hp-setup` couldn't detect the printer.

I'll make a more detailed post on the Solus forum later; for now, I'm not at her house to offer all the details.

It has been a while since I put out an update on the progress of Solseek. I have been pushing out updates, bug fixes, and some minor features. However, I have not been posting much info. Part of it is me still getting into the groove of being part of Solus and working with the team to continue to grow and build on the strong foundation.
So I thought I would take a few minutes and update on where Solseek is and the future. As I mentioned, I still plan on maintaining Solseek and keeping it going. It started as a pet project, but has grown into a tool people seem to like.

Karousel é um Kwin Script que permite o Kwin se comportar como o Niri
E o Geometry Change é um Desktop Effect adiciona essas animações de mudança de foco
Vale lembrar que o Karousel tem certas limitações, não afeta a maioria dos usuários, mas não custa ler. Afinal, quem avisa, amigo é ;)
