Do you guys have Inverse Climb enabled?

I was just checking out settings unique to Iron Fist but I haven't been able to find results online.

At first it didn't seem like it did anything, but am I correct that this actually gives you more control on the direction iron fist runs? Normally I'd want to run forward but it's nice to have the option to watch behind me when I go wall run.

Is it worth it to weave in melee?

I used to weave melee because early guides suggested it

But it looks like with his changes and nerfs it isn't worth it anymore? Is there a specific reason you'd want to melee?

His primary only can kill a Luna in 2.5 seconds. His melee only does it in 4 seconds. How much does each melee hit do?

Is hulk weak this season?

I played hulk a lot in season 8, and he was a lot of fun. Felt very flexible and I felt like I could solo tank with him.

Now? If I dare try to frontline I am blown up. I don't think I am THAT rusty with hulk but it has been a bit. Maybe it's the teams I am getting but I don't want to blame anyone, just the last few games I was trying hulk and couldn't make any impact and had to swap no matter what. Just my last game, I kept walking back and forth to spawn on Shin-Shibuya just so I can heal, any time I tried to step forward towards the enemy team, I had to retreat, just so frustrating, and there were moments I turned back to Bruce even if I used bubble. Almost feels like if I don't have a shield, I'm screwed. Bubble isn't enough and yet some how, when I am on mag, I don't constantly have a shield up and I feel like I survive better for some reason.

So how are torch mains feeling this season?

Was super excited to see Torch in the game when I joined back in 2.0.

But I know he has been in a rough spot for awhile. But with the team up changes, he feels strong. Especially when Jubilee is in the match for bonus health, I don't feel the need to swap any more when there is a Spidey, I feel like I can defend myself better. If there isn't need for air combat or Jubilee, Storm also seems like a great filler.

Maybe it's just the matches I decide to use him in QP, but he feels like he's in a good spot right or is their still a lot of weaknesses he's facing still?

Recent update allows us to see a bit of the hood

Judging by his thickness, he looks tanky. When I look at wolverine and punisher, they are similar in thickness, but the hoods build looks closer to strange.

So sick of people getting all cocky for playing an easy or over tuned hero

And yes cyclops is also overtuned.

When players start playing a strong new hero like elsa, black cat, or now cyclops and get all cocky about "carrying" their teammates as if they are soo good is really annoying, trying to put down the enemy and their own team (even if we're winning).

Same for easy or overpowered heros. I feel a bit safe saying a MK getting cocky when they play him non-optimally (actually aiming at players by the ankh is better than aiming at the ankh damage wise...but most would rather shoot the ankh overhead...) just because the enemy is losing to it doesnt mean you should be cocky, if anything embarrassed for being rude...like cyclops even has auto aim too, doesnt take much skill to be good no offense and hes a bit strong too

Captain America has been getting a lot of attention lately.

I see a lot more Captain America players in my games and it seems people are finally learning how great he is.

He is considered one of (if not the) best tank in the game right now.

Which scares me a bit to be honest. So I am a bit worried about the nerfs.

I've been maining him for awhile now, and I like the spot he is in. I still have fun with him and I think his play style goes really well with how I like to approach situations in game. I know a lot of you miss the cancel, but for me it wasn't really an issue, and at least lately, I have been seeing a lot more consistency in my kills too. Maybe I got better at him? I don't know...

I definitely welcome more cap mains but I do prefer playing under dog heros. I see him more than I see Venom or Angela lately. It seems like people are learning his value though, but if I'm solo tank I still prefer to be Venom if I plan to dive a lot, but it's still...I remember when people would rather you swap off Cap for a different tank like Venom.

Looking for one or two others. PC NA, P3

Hey all, I am 32/M

I am a flex players and I usually have a hero as an answer for something (unless they are banned).

Looking for someone else who can swap to other roles also. Really all I need is someone I can depend on if I need to swap to help with an issue (and I'd do the same the other way around).

I essentially play a lot of heros, but to talk about my preferred/casual choices....I mainly tank, main is Cap and Hulk right now. DPS wise I dive a lot, so I like DD and IF. . Gambit or Luna have been my preferred healers lately.

Only thing is, I want to encourage a friendly low-toxic environment so I don't want to see any form of disrespect to anyone, regardless if it's our team or enemy team, even if it is causing frustration. DM venting is fine though

Also just being able to talk about issues and possibly solutions and strategies would be nice.

If you're interested, leave your name here or in a DM and I'll add. One thing is, I am shy so I hate using mic and I prefer to type.

Space, am I thinking about it correctly?

I'm going to describe it anyways but I'll add a video since the match was short lived for reference: 10587286603

We were on defense 2nd round, on the Spider-Islands Convoy map.

Everyone was standing behind the first bridge where the spider punk van is.

We didn't even make it to first point, but we were almost there round 1. But it didn't leave us much room for error so I suggested "we should move up a bit, we cant really afford to lose so much space"

Where I really wanted to stand was by the bell, where the spider convoy spawns so we can claim it. It felt like a lot of space was given up for the spider to take.

But after dying I feel like maybe I should of just stayed where the rest of the team was...but still, I feel like it would be worth trying to be greedy if we struggled round 1. Was the position of either of my tanks wrong, or would you guys suggest something else?

How do you use hulk as dive?

I see people talk about using hulk as a dive tank and how they jump all around the map, but when ever I dive like I do on cap, I get blown up.

I guess cap is just attention grabbing?

For hulk, maybe tiny dives into the backline in the middle of a frontline fight is fine if I jump around, but I don't understand how to dive even if I am being sneaky I still get blown up.

Right now I only use hulk if I play him more like a frontline tank brawler vs dive. When ever I bubble, it's generally always used with my group so they get it too. I know I can use it to help me get out, but that never really happens, and any cc that launches me up just resets the jump.

Is it wrong to play Wolverine when the enemy team has 1 tank?

Hey all! Newish wolverine player and I am highly considering making him my main dps. I love underdog characters and he's a lot of fun too.

But every now and then, I swap to him if I'd rather be someone different and I get some beef from people about it because the enemy has 1 tank (even though we are doing fine...). I mean also...it's qp so who cares, but he feels good regardless who I am shredding.

I am thinking about bringing him to ranked once I feel confident with him, but any tips? I play lots of heros so just wondering when I should definitely not be wolverine.

Is Item Cancel a thing?

Hey all! First, I only ever played as black cat for fun, never tried to practice actual stuff with her, except copying what other people do or what I vaguely remember learning from others.

Was messing around with black cat in the practice range and was trying to see if there is a way to get her primary out faster after using her chain whip. Noticed as long as she has an item out (I decided to experiment using the invis crown), it does seem like the whip animation gets canceled by the crown, which allows me to immediately use another primary...you can't cancel with a purchase though.

And if not, can someone skilled confirm to make sure I am not crazy? and if it's not worth it, why? I just never heard of it before (but im also not active in the black cat community yet...)

*I think* the go to combo everyone uses...the steal hook, pursuit, dash, primary, whip cancel...which is good enough for 250 targets, but for 275, they are left at 1%! Wanted to see if it was possible to get a primary out once more a bit faster just incase the timing matters...

is that 1% still just enough for them to stay alive as i rank up? I bounded the crown to "R" (I'm on PC), and it comes out real quick if I just double tap it.

Most embarrassing moment in a game for me...

At least I can rewatch it now and laugh at myself haha, but never in a game have I felt so embarrassed I wanted to leave.

Luckily it seems like no one on my team or the enemy team noticed, I looked at the point of view of everyone else, and except for this wolverine, no one saw.

I reconfigured my keybinds so my ult is on "LALT" so I don't accidentally hit "Q" when I want to hit "W", and I got comfortable with the adjustment, but this was something I never thought about.

Need some tips on iron fist, I keep forgetting how to play him.

I love playing him but when I don't play him for awhile I go negative and swap to some other hero. Takes a few games to get the hang of him again but I guess I never realized what I was doing.

Not sure how to explain it, I play a lot of dive heros, or dive/brawl, and the way I dive on most heros, I try to do with iron fist, but then I find myself failing a lot.

Not sure what it is, usually if I am targetting the healer I don't use his secondary because it seems like his primary is better due to the percent based damage being a bit lower on lower health enemies?

I try to be fast on him too, but usually his attacks are slow enough where by the time the kick does the most damage, its enough time for the enemy to react, and I miss. I try to save his kick for an escape, but it's also a good way to confirm a kill.

Any combo tips? Also any tips on killing rocket?

I've been practicing daredevil, and one thing I noticed, in most of the research I've done so far, I guess due to his nerfs, the combos like to quickly kill 275hp targets don't work anymore...which isn't a big deal, it's just an extra hit with the baton to get the kill but still...in an actual match I fear it could make the difference of a kill or someone getting spammed healed.

And then we have heros like rocket who squirms around everywhere and it's just something I have a hard time catching. With him running everywhere I am not able to kill him fast enough without his team backing him up and killing me. Even if I try to run away to reset the fight, his team is also already on alert so it's not like I can really try again and expect success.

Can you bhop with hold to leap disabled?

I am learning Hulk, and I originally set it off because I thought it was easier and I liked the freedom of not having to hold space all the time since general advice is always have it prepared. I enabled it for practice and just incase.

Also how useful is it? It doesn't feel like I keep very much momentum, just seems useful to avoid the second landing animation.

G2 Looking for advice. What could I have done to help us break through? Should I have swapped?

Hey all,

Started to main tanks around 6.5 and been learning a lot. I usually play cap and hulk, but this time around I went Emma incase of Dino.

Just skip to the second round.

Replay ID: 10349181603
User is PupByte

I felt stuck, barrier would keep breaking, enemy Peni denying a lot of territory, and had a hard time really figuring out who I could possibly reach to kill. Not sure if the route I chose at the end (even though my team didn't follow) would have helped... after rewatching myself, i think maybe going the right side was key. I think maybe I focused too much on the main entrance. With such little time though, without giving my team a chance, I don't know how to decide when trying to go through the main doorway would work, or when to go the other sides.

I was thinking of porting, but I didn't feel like I'd have much success.

Can't bhop with scroll wheel?

I binded bhop to scroll wheel and it's not really consistent.

I noticed I was able to do it if there was a slight bump like in the practice range where distance is marked from the ground outside of it.

But just walking around, leaping and doing it as im about to land, it never happens. I would start scrolling as I'm about to land and he does the landing animation still instead of hoping. I made sure to bind it to bruce banner, hero hulk, and monster hulk in the settings, and i have it to hold to activate incredible leap.

Can I get some antidive advice?

When ever I try to antidive as thing, I guess my biggest issue is I never know where the dive is. Unless I just stick with support the whole time. But I get kind anxious in that scenario, because in the front, my team is trying to push and needs help, but when ever I do, my healers get dived. Dive players are sneaky and I am sure they wait until I turn my back before they dive for that reason. Sometimes people will ping a spot, but when I get there I never see them because they ran away. Sometimes I try to look around other locations too, but then my healers get dived because the divers were healing somewhere else from where I was looking. To be honest, especially with all the other chaos going on it's a bit hard to keep track of my surroundings too.

So yeah, I can try to guard my healers, but it means I just have to sit there essentially. Leaving my team down a tank in a 5v5 doesn't feel good just to help against a dive dps. Not sure how I can support the frontline and backline at the same time.

Just some doubts with Peni I need help with

Hey all, trying to learn Peni but she is totally opposite to my usual playstyle.

I mostly tank now a days, and I play aggressive dive/melee. I'm a Cap main, with Thor, Venom, Strange, Emma, Hulk as swaps, so adjusting to her more defensive and range style has been....different.

Two things I’m struggling with:

  1. I saw an enemy Peni throw mines into the air and somehow one-shot me when they landed. I’ve tried replicating this in practice but can’t figure out what she did. In the replay she was even doing it from behind cover, aiming at the sky, like she knew where it would land. Anyone know what this happened? I was on Invis.
  2. When I pick Peni to protect my backline from dive, it feels like my nest gets destroyed instantly, even when placed behind cover. Meanwhile, when I use it, it barely does damage and gets cleared fast. I also struggle with constantly needing to reposition it on convoy maps.
  3. I also don’t really understand how to play her offensively. I saw a Peni who was solo tanking and basically stayed back with her nest and only moved it up after her team won fights, instead of playing up front like a typical tank. Is that the correct way to think about her, or am I missing something? Since normally the tank wants the enemy attention and would prefer to take the damage over their healers or dps.

Any general tips for positioning, nest usage, or playstyle adjustment would be appreciated.
