Problem: I’m starting to question whether we would be compatible long-term. I prefer a dual-income household because I want to be able to support myself and my future partner while still having enough money for the things I want in life, like traveling and experiencing new things.

Context: After talking to her more, she finally opened up about why she doesn’t have a job. It’s not simply because she’s lazy or lacks ambition. She has a disability involving chronic migraines, and she’s worried that she might not be able to hold down a job long-term because of it.

Honestly, knowing the reason changed how I see the situation. I really like her, and the way she treats and loves me is something I’ve been looking for for years. So this isn’t about me thinking she’s less valuable because she doesn’t work.

But now I’m thinking more seriously about the long-term.

I don’t earn enough to comfortably support two people on one income, and I also have a lot of goals for myself. I want to travel, try new things, experience different places, and build a certain kind of life. Traveling especially can be expensive, and I’ve always imagined being in a relationship where both partners contribute financially, even if the income isn’t equal.

So I’m honestly conflicted.

On one hand, I really like her and I don’t want to reject someone who treats me well just because she has a disability that affects her ability to work.

But on the other hand, I’m worried about whether our financial situation and lifestyles would be compatible long-term. I don’t want to enter a relationship expecting her to change or secretly hoping she’ll eventually be able to work, because that wouldn’t be fair to her. At the same time, I also don’t want to give up my own goals and dreams just to make a relationship work

Update: I talked to her about it and I decided to finally set some boundaries and end it off

This is just based on my personal experience, but I’ve never really had the chance to date a lesbian femme, even though I’d like to. From what I’ve seen, a lot of lesbian femmes seem to prefer other femmes (fem4fem), while bisexual fem seem more open to dating mascs.

I've often heard people say that life abroad is just "work, work, work," especially from the perspective of Filipino immigrants.

I'm curious if that's actually true, or if it's more of a personal choice.

For example, I know some jobs have 10–12 hour shifts, but they're only 4-5 days a week schedule. It also seems like a lot of people voluntarily take overtime or even a second job.

For those of you who have migrated, do you need to work that much just to get by, or do many people choose to because they want to save faster and send money home?

From what I've seen, criminology abroad is treated as a social science, similar to political science. It focuses on studying why crime happens, criminal behavior, criminal justice systems, public policy, and research. A lot of criminology graduates become researchers, professors, policy analysts, or work in justice-related fields not necessarily as police officers.

In the Philippines, the curriculum appears to be heavily geared toward law enforcement, and most people automatically assume that criminology students are training for the PNP or other uniformed services.

I'm genuinely interested because internationally, criminology has a reputation as a research-heavy academic discipline, but in the Philippines it has a completely different image. In fact, it even gets looked down on by some people, which seems odd considering it's a respected field of study elsewhere

Specifically in Mindanao province, im curious kasi im planning to apply there as a fresh grad from bsba major in marketing program

Problem/goal: My goal is to save as much money asap(for personal reasons) and also travel atleast once a year.

Context: I'm currently planning where to start my first job after graduating with a BSBA degree from a known university in cebu and I'm torn between starting my career in my home province or continuing to Cebu city.

I prefer roles that are more process-based and don't involve a lot of presentations or sales.

And I guess these are my guessing pros and cons

Province

- No rent because I can stay with my family.

- Lower cost of living.

- Easier to save money.

- But I'm worried about slower career growth and forever lower salaries.

Cebu

- More companies and opportunities.

- Better chance of finding larger employers.

- But I'd have to pay rent and utilities, and I'm worried that if my starting salary is only around ₱15k–₱20k, I'll end up living paycheck to paycheck(therefore no savings).

For those who have worked in both the province and Cebu:

1. Would you start in the province first, gain 1–2 years of experience, then move to Cebu?

2. Or is it worth starting in Cebu immediately despite the higher cost of living?

3. For operations, logistics, banking, or FMCG roles working in cebu city, what were your actual starting salaries as fresh graduates(include the year too for context)?

I'd really appreciate advice from people who have gone through something similar. Thanks!
